The thing with KSP is that it's both fun and educational. The physics are made to reflect that of our solar system, adjusted for scale. The point is, it's one thing to get a rocket into space, to get it into stable orbit is a different beast and to use gravity assist from other bodies to slingshot your way through interplanetary traffic... There's so much that can and will go wrong, when it does it's often funny and if you pay attention you might learn where it went wrong so you can launch more kerbals to die at a different time and space.
So many people have gotten interested in and/or gone into rocket science and aerospace engineering because of this game. Very very fun game. So many NASA people and whatnot play this game and talk on forums. There are many 12 year olds now that are able to pull off specific rocket piloting maneuvers that not many real life astronauts could pull off when we went to the moon since they were harder to practice I think Scott Manley did a video on this
This video series is very good at explaining how rockets and orbital mechanics works. They have ofc scalled the numbers down from real life but apart from that the orbital manuevers are accurate. A side effect is that most space movies u will ever watch will turn from intense situations to a comedy show when u realize that what they are doing makes no sense what so ever.
My first trip to the moon in ksp wasn't so much a trip to the moon as a trip to the minty wonderland. I had misjudged how much fuel I needed. Didn't bring enough, and went flying past the moon. I got flung by the moons gravity and my new orbit slammed me face first into previously mentioned minty wonderland, with no way to slowdown.
Please continue this series! You have some great commentary on the game and the production quality of each episode keeps getting better as well as the funniness factor.
Another great KSP video is Fleekazoid’s KSP review. Max0r and Martincintopants make a small appearance too. His other videos are great, specially his swat 4, project zomboid, and his new assassin’s creed video. You definitely should check them out
With 2,887.3 hours playing KSP according to Steam as I type this, I hardly remember my first time to the Mun.. I know I massively over built every stage, I know I made it there and back without needing to reload or revert, I know that I didn't use the atmosphere to slow down in the same fashion the fella did in this video. I put myself in a 80k or so orbit of Kerbin on the way back, and chose when and where I would come down.. I know I did it that way, because that is the way I always did it when I first started playing KSP, no matter where I was coming from, I always used fuel to slow down and picked when I wanted to come back to close to the KSP.. Anyway, the sheer amount of Kerbal death I have caused in that game, I am pretty sure would make me the most extreme serial killer ever to have lived lol.
Since I saw you two head bobbing, the music is from the 1st Plantz Vs Zombies game. Really good music, you should definitely check it out if you haven’t :)
"Intense to go to the moon"? I would sorta agree, and the rest of the KSP community might laugh in pity And i didnt use tutorial, only for orbit, made it to the moon with hard work
@@gradypharr1300 you basically was so fast that kerbin lost hold of you. To stop this and make orbit, you should lift to higher altitude, face east and use rocket to lift the trajectory quarter forward. Got to aopoposis (htf do u spell it?!?) When you are exactly over aopoposis, thrust. you will be close to orbit when this happens but I can't explain what to do with perapisis. (Btw, if the aopoposis swaps with perapisis, treat them the same) I mean I hope this helps but I'm never landed and came back from any planet or moon.
Ah yes, the series that accidentally teaches you astrophysics and orbital mechanics. Tis great!
Then teaches you how to do war crimes.....
Fun for the whole family
@@GuiltyFaT Never a warcrime the first time 😃

I know of at least one Kerbal plushie that’s floating around somewhere in the ISS!
@@Plantoffel That's super cool! I didn't know that part

Man I hope they actually finish this series. Since I'm waiting for Kit and Kira to also finish sovietwomble's fantastic alien isolation series
Where's that Profile Picture from? Looks rad!
Second video to come:) Stay tuned!

When my notifications actually work
kerbals be like when they are spontaneously combusting: -_-
How did i find this video so quickly
I'm excited for the bois to keep reacting to other episodes. Let's go!
26:00 Played hundreds of hours. Been to Duna (MARS) all of twice. Never made the return trip.
same i got 500 hrs and have never managed to dock
been on Duna and back, and then... Restarted career. Then restarted again. And again. I just can't find my motivation trigger.

My first attempt at orbiting Kerbin ended with an odd orbit around the sun. Do not question how this happened.
