It means the pattern repeat is 5 stitches, so you measure how long you want the work to be and then do chains in multiples of 5 until you reach the length you need for the project, then add 2 chain because the start of the pattern says crochet into the 2nd chain from the hook. If you would like to do a practice piece then try chaining 27, that will give you a repeat of the pattern 5 times, which should give you a good idea of what the finished project would look like. Hope this helps :)
Wow...what a simple but gorgeous pattern...I will certainly be trying this...thank you for sharing...I have a vintage pattern with a stitch that isn't named and is very complicated, is there any way I could send you the pattern so you could do a tutorial on how it's done? I am new to you tube and not sure if this is possible
Making a shawl with Lion Brand's Shawl-In-A-Ball with this pattern. I sure hope I will have enough yarn to make a decent sized shawl. Furthermore, how did you do your last row? Still with the picot or just 4chains per repeat? Love your tutorials :)
we are actually working on this stitch in a group on Facebook called Hookahs Day Out and we are making a shawl but with a different twist. If you like come on over we just started today.

I 💙 ur tutorials!!!! Ty for posting!!! Beginner here & watching you step by step is so helpful!!
This would make a really cute choker/bracelet, worked with thread and beads on the picots! Thanks for the nice video
Loved your clear and precise teaching, one of the best I've seen! Will follow you👉🏼👌🏼
My new favourite. Great for meditation like trance with great results.
Wow, you're right, you do make it look so easy and it is! Thank you so much.
Very good tutorial! Concise and clear presentation 😊

You have a great voice
great work but for teaching purposes a lighter color yarn would be preferable.
Very nice & thankyou
How would you do the finishing row on a project where you want a straight edge on the final row?
Sounds cool. Make sure you send us a photo. I'd love to see how it turns out.

Hola una sugerencia mejor usa color Claro de lana para ver el procedimiento porfavor gracias
Yes we only use lighter color yarns in our newer videos. This one is pretty old.
Wait, it says skip two chains after you chain five, but then you said skip four??????????
Nicholas Flanders yea I see the same thing but tells us different....
Nicholas Flanders I hear and see the same thing. I'll be looking for the same pattern but I hope I can find someone better to teach it.
niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
This is NOT A STITCH, it is a MOTIF! No single stitch creates the results.
Your written instruction are wrong for row 1 in the video. I was skipping 2 chains as written, but you were skipping 4 chains.
My picot stitches aren't coming out as delicate and pretty as the tutorials. 😐
It's super twisty. :(
This not a true Epcot stitch. It is a imagination of one.
I hope I can find someone else that can explain it better. Sorry, I won't be subscribing to your channel.
