They had more hits than misses. People over reacted. They were doomed from the start. There was too many stories yup wrap up I only a few episodes. This was always how the show would end even if they had the last two books. They couldn't do it all justice. We shouldn't try to ruin people over one project.

GoT’s last season was honestly some of the worst piece of writing I’ve ever witnessed. Even The Room was at least written with love.
@What ? Who's fault is it then? HBO offered them more money to complete the series but they turned it down, D&D wouldn't allow anyone else to take the reins. It is partly GRRM's fault too though because he jumped the gun on starting this show, they ran out of source material and he STILL hasn't finished the 6th book.

What ? Stop man, they turned down a couple more seasons where they could have adequately finished the series. But instead they rushed thru to get it over with to get to working on Star Wars asap. They closed as many plots as possible in a short time in the laziest way possible. There were no twists, there was no payoff, it just ended as lazily as possible. They honestly could have saved it a little if they thru Bran being evil twist in the form of flashbacks when he says goodbye to Jon. He says you were exactly where you were supposed to be to Jon and they could have had a 3-5 min thing of flashbacks of how Bran orchestrated everything and he isn’t Bran anymore really the 3 eyed raven seizing power. If they wanted to be lazy they could have at least gave us that at the end.
Even tho they ran out of source material by season 6, a good writing team would've used what they had with the previous story arcs and stayed true to the books and tied up loose ends like jaimes arc, cersei's arc, Jons arc, sansa's arc and of course Danny's... Instead they rushed season 8,made Danny look like a tyrant which she never was going to be (I've read the books and in the last book yes, she does start to become darker and lists for power bcuz of how much power she's gotten with the dragons and the army's she put together but she always had a sense of justice and reclaiming her throne.. she never would've done what she did in season 8... Dumb and dumber should've handed the reins over to better writers for the last season, the show went on for 8yes and u just ruin the last season like that it's ridiculous but there were amazing parts in seasons 7 and 8 so it wasn't totally bad just that it was obvious they rushed the writing process ... HBO even told them they can have another season 9 to officially wrap it up correctly with all the storylines but of course they turned it down and now they have to live with the fact that they fucked up one of the best TV shows of all time
boogabuga they haven’t ran out of material tho, Martin himself said that they skipped a lot of material from his books, and said that they easily could have used all of that material too make around 12-13 seasons

Just because the first book has the same name doesn't mean they meant the book series, basically any mention online is the the TV program series which D&D are the creators of. I don't have such extreme opinions on D&D but they managed to ruin one of the most (if not the most) beloved and hyped TV series because of whatever reason they had. They certainly were good initially but the amount of mess they made, later on, earned them the hate they get now.

You know what upsets me the most? This was the first time the Game of Thrones story was told in full, and it was ruined. Sure there'll most likely be more adaptations down the line, but at that point it will be legit impossible to consume it without ANY spoilers, because the spoilers are already out there, and most of us have already seen them. In a series with some of the most incredible twists in modern writing, that's genuinely heartbreaking.

Season 8 was the icing on the cake, they started to fuck things up from season 5.

I don’t even want to think about another main series Star Wars film for another 20 years.
I’m not a fan of their final game of thrones episode after attempting to make sense of their work in the previous episodes. There is no sense to be found.
But I’m also not a fan of Starwars now that Disney is actively refusing to use anything Lucas creates that is cannon.
So losing D&D isn’t much of a ‘loss’ at this current moment when there is nothing to gain from either experience.

I don’t think the last season of game of thrones is that bad. It is definitely rushed, but I don’t think the Daenerys insanity came from no where. Also they had to write each season every year, whereas George R. R. Martin still hasn’t done the sixth book in almost a decade.
The Magnifikle the basic storyline is (mostly) fine. The problem was pacing. They didn’t build any of it up so to just felt crazy. They legit needed a full season to set that all up. And they are bad at writing without source material. The writing got worse and worse. And it all culminated in that last season. George RR Martins version will likely end similarly, but it’ll be much more satisfying because he earns it with his writing.
Rush something and tell me it's good. Especially on a heavy lore dependent serie.
The reason the first few seasons of GOT were so popular is because GRRM took his time. The reason the last few seasons are so critically detested is because D&D rushed.
@@captainyourmom They could have easily made two seasons there. One for the Long Night, the other for King's Landing. But I guess Star Wars... plus without George they didn't know how to write full storylines so they just squished together his outline adding some tacky modifications and called it a day. And then HBO spent millions per episode and a huge group of people, (probably the best production team in tv history) spent like a year turning that trash into reality. Kinda makes one mad.

Flatflo no it’s not racist, it’s a Caribbean term, a very flexible word that could be used in anger or shock, but could be directed at someone too. For example instead of calling someone an idiot you could use the word bumbaclart. I’ve grown up in London and there is a strong Caribbean culture here so I’ve grown up hearing this term along with many others
I was really excited for Rian Johnson's trilogy. Say what you want about the TLJ but the guy is a good director and when given his own story and characters he's a pretty good writer too. At least an interesting one. Had he had more creative control and been able to come up with his own story I feel like ti would of been great. Looper is great, Brick is great, apparently Knives Out is very good too. The guy is a good director despite what the army of upset Star Wars fan's think.

These writers and directors of game of thrones are amazing at BOOK ADAPTATIONS. The series was awesome until the source material ran out. Then they were horrible at CREATING new material.
And that’s not entirely their fault seeing how if the author himself can’t write the story how are they going to do any better?

I like a number of changes that they made to the series (from what the novels have), but the mistakes they made in the last 4 seasons especially destroyed even what they had going.
