Actually this is the 4th time they have been seen in cannon in the Star Wars universe they appeared on 2 characters in clone wars and 1 imperial in the show Star Wars rebels before they were seen here making it 4 total but yes this is the first live action appearance for glasses in Star Wars.

FYI, the Mandalorian asked that guy what glasses are because Star Wars has historically not show characters with glasses onscreen to differentiate that universe from reality. The first person shown with glasses was on a Rebels episode like 3 years ago. That Imperial was probably the second.

@@Valscer I think it is the fact most characters don't wear glasses at all in Star Wars, let alone the actual humanoid characters.
@@Valscer It's because Star Wars has historically not shown characters with glasses onscreen to differentiate that fictional universe from reality. George Lucas was really good at include or excluding little details like that to give the Star Wars galaxy its own identity.
When Disney bought Star Wars they become more lax with these details. The first person in Star Wars to be seen with glasses was on a Rebels episode about 3 years ago. This Imperial was probably the second. Another detail Lucas excluded from Star Wars was indoor plumbing. We never saw bathrooms, toilets, or facets until they were also seen in a recent Rebels episode.

For How the finale of Season 2 should have Ended - all you need to do is add Mando giving Grogu the little knob from the lever. Nothing else.
