Hi Elina! Yes it's a very nice midi controller, very light and small so that you can travel with it. The only downside (as every midi controller) is that you need a computer to use it. But that might not be a problem for you. 🙂

Hola David. Cuando tienes activado el metrónomo puedes presionar el boton de play/rec antes de que acabe el loop y el loopstation empezará a grabar cuando empieze el siguiente loop. Saludos!

Excellent work but it's left me with so many questions regarding the setup are the midi controller, keyboards, guitar connected directly to the 505 or are they connected to "software" via your computer? I have similar toys to you but I got frustrated, and now my 505 is sadly gathering dust on the shelf. Have you (do you) use a foot controller? Many thanks Andrew
Hi Andrew! It's sad to hear that about your loopstation, it is a diamond in the rough! Well, regarding to your questions keyboard and controller are sent to the computer and then to the loopstation. It is explained in detail in one of my videos (it's called 'connected'), take a look to it. I'm thinking about getting a foot controller for better performances but by now I have managed well without it. I hope I've helped you!
Hi and thanks so much for the reply. I did view the video "Connected", and I will give this a try using Garage Band. I may invest in the foot controller as I primarily play the guitar and have a JC 22 amp (which can use the foot switch). Regards.

Cool looping. Question, when tracks are set to free mode, do they still sync as far as their start and stop points? Say I record a 4 bar drum loop but then want a 16 bar chord progression, do I have to be right on the money when I record in my chords or if I hit the record button at say bar 15, will it automatically sync to 16?
I am currently setting up my iPad to kind of mimic the RC-505 abilities and trying to figure out best practices.
Quantize sorts that all out, but you probably know that by now

is the rc 505 let you retrieve your recorded loop for another music perform as a MPC it can ???
it can be a great way fr me to travel with the rc 505 alone a style having all synth and instrument inside the box that i can call only by pressing a button.
the way i imagine the use of the rc 505 is to have a list of songs that i previously prepared and only add guitar, vocals and backing vocals. please help me to fix that before i bought it
You have 5 tracks to record whatever you want (and the measure can be quite long, I've recorded more than 3 minutes loop in each phrase without problem). So you can prepare your instruments in each memory (having 5 different loops per memory), and then you will only need to sing to them, put effects to them, insert a guitar, record onto them, delete them.... I think what you want to do is a good idea, and of course it is possible! I hope I've helped you :)

Yes for live performance it will sweets my needs, as i can have for example 15 songs (stored in the box) ready to perform like a backing tracks, but different from Backing Tracks cause i can decide on the fly to repeat a part of song like using styles in arrangers keyboards , other option is to have a running laptop connected to a launchpad on the stage some musicians uses this option and i don't know how far can a laptop performs without crashing .
Yes, you can also use the launchpad with your laptop, but make sure it will not freeze while it is doing so much work. Both options are good :)
Wait, Elephant Moore, The RC 505 can Store tracks, as in it has an internal memory bank? Nice. I believe it.
i have been using this for backing loops for a few years , then i got an idea to put a song onto 2 programs or even 3 & to run them into each other. & I also have like a simple sound loop in between songs , so you can just play continuously . I use a keyboard on live gigs & so each song I put in a beat or click track with high hat & metronome & then just a guitar loop & on next track a bass . I also use a wave drum , so I can drop in live drums as the groove develops, on other tracks add brass, strings , organ, vocals , whatever. I hope you are having great times with your 505
