  • Make this easy dash display using a nextion 4.3" display and free SimHub software. Great addition to your racing sim rig.
    It is USB, stand alone and can be used in combination with any steering wheel - Logitech, G25, G27, G29, G920, Thrustmaster, Fanatec, or OSW.
    The display works the same as the Gear Indicator we made in the last video. It just uses different templates and mapping files.
    The templates are able to be customized, you will notice the 599xx and a GT3 dash also in this video.

      Henry M sadly no nextion can only use kind of placeholders so it's not possible to display a map

    Sorry if this wasn't the one I was requesting, but the one that I did request I meant like an actual gauge. Like you'd find in most cars from stock. This is still awesome though.

      Thanks! You can still make this without soldering just connect the included wires. It just more compact and neater soldered. Soldering is quite an easy skill to learn.

      Ordered an A4 sheet of carbon fiber 3mm. Cut with power tools then refine the finish by hand.

    I would love to see you possibly make a custom Shifter and handbrake Mount mod that allows you to keep your handbrake and shifter in the normal placement inside a car. also maybe a setup tour?

    I made this and I can't thank you enough great job. I am having a small problem that maybe you could help me with. the screen works great but every now and then it reverts back to screen one so when I'm looking a lets say the time screen it will go back to the rpm screen by itself. Any ideas why this would be happening? Thanks again for a great video.

    I want to built also this Display, i searched ebay for the 4.3 nextion Display and found only a touch display.
    Is this the right one? Also i found the information, that this disply should be used with a usb poweradapter, because instable supply easily can damage the display.
    Any problems so far?

    Hello friends!! I am amazed with these videos, and I have launched to make an f1 steering wheel with my 3d printer. I have a question, I don't know if someone could solve it, how is the connection between the tll module and the arduino promicro made? Or are two different usb cables used to operate the wheel?

      I just started looking into the f1 build last night. Did you finish yours?
      From what I can tell you can run 2 cables to the wheel (one for button controls, one for screen), or put a USB hub in the enclosure to only run one cable.

      if you add magnets to your wheel base as well as the case you could pull that of pretty easily

    Dear Amstudio, congratulations for your videos, i made 4 projects with your indications, the last one this dash display, and works fine, but i have a little problem.... how i can change the screen? I works only with the first but for example how i can put the Ferrari 599XX? I tired but i not know how made.

    Are you looking at making a formula/open wheel in the future from scratch and then adding this to it, I feel like that would be lit af
    Edit: are you going to make your own direct drive sim wheel sometime in the future

      Yes would like to build a F1 wheel, one of the viewers has built one with the screen. He put a picture link on the gear indicator vid. Direct drive is definitely something I would like to build in the future.

    Can you swap out the (rather expensive) touch screen for another? Aliexpress have screen over half price but without touch.

      For all the parts, I usually just do a search in google. Ebay and Aliexpress are a good start. Then find the cheapest including postage. Some other items are brought locally.
