This song was recorded and then filmed in my home studio. All the recording, mixing, mastering, filming, editing and uploading I do by myself in my little home studio.
"Who Wants to Live Forever" is a song by the British rock band Queen. It is the sixth track on the album A Kind of Magic, which was released in June 1986, and was written by lead guitarist Brian May for the soundtrack to the film Highlander. Queen were backed up by an orchestra, with orchestrations by the co-composer of the film's score, Michael Kamen. The song peaked at No. 24 in the UK charts. In 1991 it was included in the band’s Greatest Hits II.
Since its release, the song has been covered by many artists. Seal performed a live version of the song at The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992. In 2014, Rolling Stone readers voted it their fifth favourite song by Queen.
The song is used to frame the scenes in the film where Connor MacLeod must endure his beloved wife Heather MacLeod growing old and dying while he, as an Immortal, remains forever young. (It was later used in the episodes "The Gathering", "Revenge is Sweet", "The Hunters", "Line of Fire", and "Leader of the Pack" of the Highlander television series).
Brian May wrote the song in the backseat of his car after seeing a 20-minute first cut of the scene of Heather's death.
🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: My name is Alyona Yarushina, or Aly. I was born in Russia, and I am a singer, a musician,
I play the piano and do many arrangements myself, I’m in love with 80s and 90s rock. In Russia, I played with several bands. One of them is the best Led Zeppelin tribute band in Russia called "Plumbum Dreams". The other one is called "Back from the USSR", where we played Beatles songs in my own arrangements. We played in Liverpool, England almost every year on the Beatles week fest. My dad, Valeriy Yarushin is my bass player in this band. He's a legend of Russian folk-rock and his band “Ariel” was most popular in the 70s and still is now. I learned a lot from him.
In 2004, I won the “International Hopes of Europe” competition in Sochi, Russia along with the “Grand Prix” prize for singing I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston.

One of my all time favorite songs! It was scored for the movie “Highlander” and Queen performed the sound track for the movie. Freddie is smiling down from Heaven upon you! In the movie there is a famous line “there can only be one “ You’re the one because no one else can sing that song as good as you! It was powerful opera! I hope you have seen the movie! It really captures the vibe of the early 80s! Back then we all thought we would live forever!

The passion you put into the song, the emotion and energy you convey are astounding. So far... this is the best female cover of this song... I have checked 10 different covers and all are not what I’m looking for. You seem to be the only one who understand the song. Use emotion, get into it! I felt that you where generally singing the song from. A more emotional stand point, Compared to the others. This song is about pain and love and a revelation.
