In June 2019, The Danish Broadcast Corporation (DR) aired a concert called “FANTASYMPHONY - ONE CONCERT TO RULE THEM ALL” performed by The Danish National Symphony Orchestra, The Danish National Concert Choir, The Danish National Junior Choir with various soloists conducted by Christian Schumann.
The music performed was soundtracks from a wide range of fantasy movies, TV series and a video game reflecting different musical perspectives on magic, fantasy, swords, dragons, rings and bells.
Featured composers were John Williams, Howard Shore and Ramin Djawadi along side Ed Sheeran and Queen with music from Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Willow, Narnia and much more.

It''s great to still be alive to hear this angel.
So glad I stumbled upon this recently. I remember all the way back to 1986 when we went to the movies and couldn't get in to see Top Gun. Then we couldn't get into Aliens, so we "settled" for this sort of unknown movie called Highlander that night. I was blown away because I had no idea that Queen did the music for this, but this was a truly magnificent song along with "Princes of the Universe". Talk about getting lucky seeing a movie we knew nothing about.
My Best Friend passes away few weeks ago September 10th was her Birthday How I miss her and love her for Ever.....
The worst offense someone can do is pretend they can be like Freddie Mercury, or pretend they are like the members of queen, this orchestra, choir and singer pretended at nothing. Everyone here brought their best and the performance reflects this.

That was a great scene and one of the reasons I get so pissed when people feel compelled to hate on this movie. There was an awful lot that was very cool with it.

I am glad I stumbled on Tuva Semmingsen with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra on Stingray Classical. What great joy I got from listening to them! This is music that needs to be heard by everyone who loves music.

Freddie died before I got to see him live, a huge regret for me and a great loss.
People who have not experienced the spaghetti western theme by this orchestra and this lady won't know what you mean by Wha, Wha Lady is all about. As I said in an earlier post, everything I have seen by this orchestra is stellar. I you haven't seen this group with Gary Brooker and Procol Harum doing ,"Whiter Shade of Pale" you should find it and listen.

Tuva Semmingsen is just amazing. First saw her as the whistling wawa girl in another pretty awesome video this orchestra did. Very talented person for sure!!!

Good lord. If that was not the stupidest character ever played by Sean Connery.... even so, it was one of the highest points in the movie.
I am always contrary to remakes, but I am willing to accept it for Highlander because boy that movie sucks.

Being the singer for a national orchestra is quite the achievement I dare say; especially if you like to be heard by people who care about music and how it's crafted, not only by audiences who simply expect a show and entertainment of the shallower kind. I got absolute chills when Tuva Semmingsen sang the "who waits forever, anyway" line. She sells the emotion so well it transfers directly into the listener.

There is something about Tuva’s voice. Lots of singers have beautiful voices. But Tuva’s is distinct and has character. That’s a great quality to have as a singer.

This song makes me cry. It is a reminder of our morality and it is alright to realize it.

Simply spectacular! Phenomenal! The best orchestra today. A singer who is super versatile and with a powerful and angelic voice. A perfect coral. And to close with a golden key, a sensational guitar solo. Too bad the audience was very restrained in the applause. They deserved much more obeisances.

I have never heard such wonderful and versatile voice… this is why we like music whatever the style and thanks to the danish philharmonic orchestra : they are ensuring the musical link in between generations. I hope one day to come to Denmark to see them playing ! My dream !

Fantastic! Tuva can sing (and whistle) anything! I’d love to hear her sing some American rock/pop/jazz standards.
Im not sure if she does jazz, the next concert is to be Spy-movie/jazz themed and for that, they have hired Caroline Henderson.

This is by far the very best orchestra I have ever heard. My compliments to the people who put this little group together, I can't imagine the hours of spent finding all these great musicians and choir.......Truly outstanding. I vote for a world tour......Impossible I know. Still, I would love to see them live. And thank you, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra.

It's a permanent orchestra. They seek out new musicians as old ones retire or die. It's so old, all the current members were probably hired at different times. They also host the international talent show for orchestra conductors.
