    I'm so happy to see Armorsmith gaining steam. I taught a class on it some months back for a packed classroom. It is an absolute gamechanger, and always improving. Long live Randy.

    Armorsmith is a great program! I got it back when it was in an earlier phase of development for 10 or 15 buck. It's vastly superior for accurately resizing vs pepakura. Randy is a great guy and the community is top notch!

    I've been on the fence about this and your great explanation quelled any concerns I had about this program. I bought it and got my avatar all set up. Got a few armor pieces on him also! Loving it so far. It's a game changer. Thanks! BTW it's $30 now. Get it ASAP before the price goes up.

    Okay I heard about armor smith a few months ago but was skeptical. Glad to see it's gaining steam as someone else said. I'm in the middle of building a (custom) Reinhardt skin and the artist has only given me one reference/pose - so pulling from the game doesn't really help. I'm wondering how I can model the backs of thighs/arms and other things I can't see?

  • @changuage

    Hey man this is great! Saw your comment in the FB discussion page! Do you make any 3D custom armors in blender? You're a LEGEND man. You're saving me so much time! I was doing so much trial and error! I'm eagerly waiting your next video my friend!

    • @WaynesWorkshop

      Ben Chang I don't really use blender to model. I tend to use fusion360

    Hey Wayne, I have been going at this off and on, it took me a long time to extract the models, however I did it without any help. I Have been very keen on trying my hand at everything before asking for help. So... I'm having trouble with my data mined models. Mine have these strange polygon edges on rounded shapes creating awkward pieces. Do you have any thoughts?

    Can you please do a video on how to do the measurements? What point on the body to what point and input that value in Armorsmith. I bought it back in the beginning but still haven’t gotten any detail on the measurements. I would put in my height and weight then go through each body part to make them what they should be. In the end it changes the total height and weight and I would look like a grey alien. I have yet to find any detailed video on measurements for those that need a hand.

    Could you use armorsmith to do patterns to use in syntra sheets?

    • @WaynesWorkshop
      @WaynesWorkshop  Před 6 lety

      i think so, afteral its a flat 2d template, and you can trace it onto syntra and heat form it to bend it. wear a respirator against organic fumes if you heat it up though, it releases bad chemicals once heated

    Hi Wayne! i'm curious about this armorsmith program, right now I got a model from the starcraft campaing, the marauder (not the in game model, the one you can see inside the Hyperion's armory, during the campaign) but it's a .m3 file, does this armorsmith program open it and allow me to modify it and transform it into templates too? If it does, I would gladly spend money on it, but I don't wanna buy something I wouldn't be able to use... Thank you!

    • @WaynesWorkshop
      @WaynesWorkshop  Před 3 lety

      .m3 files are not a standard 3d file format but rather a format that blizzard (used to?) use...
      there are .m3 to .obj scripts for 3d modelling software out there for blender and 3dsMAX.
      once its an obj you can import it into armorsmtih and go from there

  • @JetsetRM
    @JetsetRM Před 4 lety

    I'm having trouble getting my files to display in pattern layout, I only have STL files. It shows the model on the left but nothing on the paper. What do I need to do?

    • @WaynesWorkshop
      @WaynesWorkshop  Před 4 lety

      Stls are too high poly for the program to unfold.
      Stls is only supported so people can size it up to their avatar and then export it out again as stl for 3dprinting

    We're will you be next Wayne because I'm thinking of building a suit like iron mans and the one u built is perfect if u could make another one of I ever see u. It will have Javas and could move by emitting sound waves like in the movie. And probably blast things. Reply if u think it's a good idea. Btw it will also have holograms. Studied from hololens

    do you have to scale it down or will it scale to your avatar when you attach it

    • @WaynesWorkshop

      Scaling the avatar is seperate from the models and vice versa

  • @Oldmanflyfishing

      yeah, i updated recently for a friends project, seems gumroad is indeed pushing the latest negative reviews without a way to see "all reviews" sorta creates a missalligned view of it all.
