  • Euchre was a classic game in my home growing up. I've been wanting to put a video together on how to play for a while but couldn't get the formatting quite how I liked it.
While this is not perfect, it does show the basics of how to play. So enjoy playing here is the website that I used to play and demonstrate:

Well explained Eric. In Europe we play with the 2 of Spades (or a joker) as the Benny (bower) and A K Q J 10 9 in each of the four suits... :)

That sounds like a fun variation! I'll have to try that some time! Thanks for sharing!

That was a great video, you are a very clear instructor. I laughed out loud when you complemented Lisa and then when she took a trick you said she was a mean lady. And then when you thought you were going to euchre them and John took a trick and you said that was very mean of him. I enjoyed your video I hope you do more

Lets say trump is Diamonds, and in a trick, youhave king of spades, Ace of Spades, Ace of clubs and king of clubs. Who would win the trick?

Ranking of Trump for Each Suit: (left highest to right lowest)
    Hearts:
    J♥️ J♦️ A♥️ K♥️ Q♥️ 10♥️ 9♥️
    Diamonds:
    J♦️ J♥️ A♦️ K♦️ Q♦️ 10♦️ 9♦️
    Spades:
    J♠️ J♣️ A♠️ K♠️ Q♠️ 10♠️ 9♠️
    Clubs:
    J♣️ J♠️ A♣️ K♣️ Q♣️ 10♣️ 9♣️
This is what I like the most about the card game Euchre because I found the trump suit rankings with the matching-colored jacks being the highest cards very interesting.

Ok, now I see how each hand is played. Question: does this game have an end?

5:00 You should always lead trump before Aces when you call it.
7:00 You should have thrown away the King of Hearts. The only time you wouldn't void a suit when picking up is when you would have to throw away an Ace. You left yourself four suited by keeping the King. This is a hand where I would have picked up as the dealer.

That is frustrating to watch. There is no reason not to lead the trump when you have no partner.

I don't know. It does have a lot of Trump in it. :)

I have been playing Euchre, for over 40 years, like this question & answer. Yes: there are liberals in my Euchre Club. 😀

Maybe I should have phrased the question like this: Can "never-Trumpers" ever play this game again? lol I am just being silly.
      Have a great day!

Dealers partner going alone when he orders it is a variation . Not part of the standard rules.

“mean Lisa” would never have won the trick if you had pulled trump first instead of leading with your off ace!!
