I was there rolling my ass off. I met a girl from Minnesota, moved out there. Met another girl, had kids.... All thanks to this concert. That was on the 31st, though.
Did they know what they were about to do? Like, were they standing up there onstage and smiling to themselves thinking, "hey lets send these fuckers to an alien planet while we melt their faces." I dont understand how human beings can produce noises like this. All four of them are legendary. There will never be another band like phish. There will never be another festival like big cypress. The peak.
I remember when they opened the gates, I sprinted to get to the front. I pulled both of my hamstrings and had to walk worn this weird limp the rest of the festival. But this Mike's Song was the shit. I love the immigrant song tease and can remeber the smoke and red lights like it was yesterday.
3:58 immigrant song tease, this fits perfectly for me. 7:29 and on is fucking crazy. 9:00 fishman n mike drive that ship into a dark, scary jam. 13:12 trey breaks through, melting the remainder of the crowds face
These guys are on fire "again" and if u haven't seen them in years I strongly suggest u go see them!! I saw them in 09 a few times and every year since and they have gotten better and better.
Same here! I was puddled. The combo of the super evil Mike's and copious amounts of fog made me think that something was wrong (for like a minute I was uneasy).
@tmacbeatsonline did you know that much of their lighting rig got hosed on NYE when their fanboat contraption busted some of the cables? Did you ever wonder why were those awesome peppermint lights on 12/30 but not on 12/31? Well that’s why.
I ate 2 pressies with a 666 stamp. While tweaking a wicked scary guy got yanked by security, someone behind me pissed all over my leg, i then woke up lost at sunrise and had missed 1/2 the show.
I remember this incident well. During this Mikes I started projectile vomiting all over at least a dozen people that were standing around me. Then I took off running for open space. 😂
Would like to buy a beer for the guy that lugged an old camcorder almost all the way to the front of crowd of 90,000 in order to capture this
Seriously!
It was 1999. Camcorders were pretty compact by then.
153,000 it was bonkers. I was there.
@@dablyndchef1563 where are you getting 153,000. I always heard it was 80,000.
@@dablyndchef1563 yeah it was 80,000
This Mike's changed me forever. The smoke. Met the girl who would become my wife, 6 years later, the next day.
I was there and 19. I met my wife 7 years later
I didn't attend and I have no wife. 😕 Twenty-two years later I think I finally see where I went wrong. 😆
Damn it. Now I need a time machine for two reasons.
During the red light / fog section of this jam, the stage transformed into a mechanical spider monster and began coming towards me... best time ever.
Green Dust'd
Nice. Did you happen to see all the bi planes flying around mikes head? Lol.
@@chinesedebt9584 the green space dust sent me and the whole crew spinning through the universe.
I was way in the back, and it seemed like the ground had opened up and a volcano was enveloping the earth...and I was 100% sober!
Someone explain the green dust! 🤣

One of the most creative jams ever performed. Period.
this jam is some serious aliens... like the kind that can hypnotize you and rewire your brain in a span of minutes
This has to be one of my all time favorite Phish moments... It was almost kinda scary.
Scary = rock. Rock = good. Good = burrito. Burrito = sauce. Sauce = Rock. Rock = Scary.
See?
This is truly Mike's song here. He carries it and kills it.

Just when I the thought Halloween ‘98’s Wolfman’s was bad… this is next level.
That fog hung on the crowd forever. The atmosphere was so still, there was a defined layer of fog/smoke over the crowd about 15 ft. up.

2017 phish was completely amazing, cant wait to hear 2018
You could say the same thing today, 8 years later.

Sounded like an alien talking for a while crazyyy
phish phuckin with minds
Train-Whistle to HELL
This is way closer than I ever got to the stage. Thanks for the view!
Helluva jam
So SICK
+ProtozoaSound YAM
I remember all that unexpected stage fog really messed with my mind.............

Feels like Kuroda used to be so much more hands-on interactive and less automated back then.
Yes the scariest Phish moment I’ve ever experienced. Y’all remember those candy cane lights?
100%

I really wish I knew how Trey was making the demon howl at 6:00
Sounds like a reversed phaser situation
Digital delay and timing
Whao
This and tube and soamelt catapault were prolly best
👹
Well if that doesn’t scramble your eggs, nothing will
3:42 Trey teases Zeppelin "Immigrant song"
Trey must have been peaking on fluff
Strange aand strong version
Is there any better camera footage floating around or has this been the only video of Mike's?
This is the only footage I ever saw or got my hands on. Phish has to release this one pro-shot sooner or later right?
***** Fuji Caspian bra. That whole show
@@SpaceTimeTeleportal is any of this sped up?
@@SpaceTimeTeleportalStill waiting...
Best pressies (Mitsubishi) Those who know.
Mike's Mothers Milk or somethin'!
A Goomba was there with Heavy-Thing and D Bolden Saraven.
