- An ex-federal prosecutor is weighing in on Diddy's assault video -- and she says while this isn't necessarily a smoking gun in the investigation he's facing, it certainly doesn't help him.
We talked to Katie Cherkasky -- who's had years of experience with these sorts of legal matters -- on "TMZ Live" Friday ... where she declared that the now-viral video, in which Diddy can be seen beating Cassie -- should make him and his camp worried.

The legal expert must not have heard that Diddy is well aware that there are cameras everywhere. He has them in every room of his houses and most likely took all of the incriminating home videos with him on his private jet when he disappeared during the raids from the feds. Reportedly Diddy paid that hotel in LA, which is no longer in business, $50K for the footage thinking there were no back-ups. I wonder who held onto the copies and how much CNN paid for one.
