Yes they should be fired for doing their job I'm a Knicks fan always been since i started watching basketball over 35 years ago. I would recognize Ewing from a mile away. But my 20 year old child wouldn't. That's how long its been since Ewing play ball. He wasn't wearing his pass. Some kid who probably didn't know who he was ask him about is pass. Ewing while talking see more surprise he wasn't recognized then insulted. He seems to be saying these in a playful manner. But he forgot the some in the media has become leeches looking for a blood drop to pounce on . They can complained about the Knicks or Dolan so they are just latching on anything negative true or false .

Yall talking about Oakley vs Dolan like yall know why this happened, little history lesson, knicks traded Oakley for camby 1999, Oakley decided to start trash talking the team since then for the next 18 years every chance he get he would trash talk knicks, cause he felt that he should have never been traded and when he was having financial problems Dolan should have helped him. But everyone knows Dolan always has issues with ex knicks players criticizing the team. So this all came to a head in 2017. Notice is the only ex player I know that had to bye his own ticket to the game. The only ex teammate who came to his defense was chris child's, Oakley trash talk Ewing, and everybody else who didn't defend him. What does that say about Oakley. Dolan has always help out his players when they needed him, Stoudemire , melo , Chandler, starks, Houston, Larry johnsson, etc all swears by the guy

First of all he was traded to Seattle so get that right if you were supposedly a Knicks fan which I'm fairly certain you aren't. Second, he was also cool with being traded as it was a move that was going to set the Knicks up to rebuild towards the future as they got a ton of players for a bench rotation, two first round draft picks, and two second round draft picks. His number was immediately retired and there was a massive ceremony for it the year after he retired. What "disrespect" are you even talking about? Could he have retired a Knick? Sure, but he said he was cool with being traded if that meant the Knicks can build for the future, because he loved the team/organization that much. He'd frequently say that Magic fans and Sonics fans would cheer for him but it was nothing like the cheers he would get from Knicks fans. Both pre and post retirement. Again. I've done security at pro/college arenas and stadiums and management let's you know when someone big is coming through them doors or gates and we welcome them politely without hesitation. And usually all security are fans so we know who they are anyway and still let these people in when management doesn't tell us.
No. If you are a champion, you get treated like royalty. No championship delivered, no special treatment.

The list goes on with players we let in that haven't won a chip in our bay area college/pro arenas and stadiums. It's not always about the titles it's what you've done and accomplished for your team and city. Management should let security know but security usually knows and let's these legends, coaches, GM's, etc, through the doors and welcomes these people to there home.
Barkley, Malone, Drexler, Nash, Miller, McGrady, Iverson etc. In the end most players will not win a championship but that doesn’t mean they aren’t great. There are numerous players right now as we speak who have not lifted that trophy and probably never will but they should still be respected for their play even after they retire. Security at msg needs to know about the players in the organization. They probably are young and never watched or seen patrick ewing play. James Dolan should have had a list of players who were exempt from security checks or least have pictures all over so security would recognize the face.
