  • This week, we're delving into one of my favorite topics: love and relationships. At the end of 2022, I embarked on a new chapter, closing a seven-year relationship and stepping into the unknown. Please subscribe www.youtube.co...
Now, over a year into this journey, I've learned so much that I want to share with all of you who are navigating the complexities of modern dating- which isn’t for the faint of heart!
In this solo episode I dive into,
    - How to navigate the world of dating apps as a spiritual woman, especially when encountering ghosting and avoidant behavior.
    - Tips for staying clear about your intentions and desires while dating to attract the right kind of connection.
    - Practices for energetic protection and discernment to maintain your energy and boundaries in the dating world.
    - Understanding that finding true partnership and connection based on your Dharma.
    - Overcoming the belief that what you're looking for doesn't exist, especially after a series of bad dates, by staying true to your vision and values.
I discuss the importance of being authentic and true to yourself, even when it feels uncomfortable. Dimming your light won't make someone like you more; it will only delay the inevitable. I dive into proper dating etiquette, including the dos and don'ts of conversation, and how to identify and avoid "situationships."
Remember, who is meant for you will find you. Stay true to yourself, set high standards, and reflect on your experiences to guide you on your journey to love and partnership.

I never share personal experiences on the comments, but this time I feel it might help other DF. I met my partner 17 months ago and I consider myself on the avoidant side of the spectrum, always wanting more and more items checked on my list. He isn´t perfect just like all of us, but still we have a commitment to each other and I would find myself trying to sabotage the relationship because he didn´t fit all of the items. After a lot of reflection and anxiety I´ve realized that love is much more complex than we think, and that we attract exactly the right people to help us learn that. I´ve realized that he might not be the perfect version that I´ve created in my mind, but still the journey is so worth it, because I can finally see that love isn´t about being with someone that´s exactly the way you want. It´s about acceptance, respect, and wanting to be together, despite the challenges! Hope it helps someone out there🙏

Thank you for sharing this! As a 37 year old spiritual woman who has never really dated or been in a romantic relationship this was enlightening and refreshing because it made me feel like there is a "space" for me in the dating world.
In the age of so much darkness in the world it can be hard for someone like myself who is caring, sensitive, and empathetic to attract someone who isn't interested in trying to use, manipulate or abuse my gifts and abilities like so many have done in the past.
I'm grateful for content like this that makes me feel seen, and understood! Keep it going!!!!❤🎉

Oh em gee geeeeeeee!!!! This was gold, let me tell you! When you're in a relationship and don't runaway when you come across content/topics like this, you're open to learning, growing, seeing yourself and the shadows within you, and the shadows within your relationship!
    This was so relatable.
I got out of a 4 year relationship 2021, and then met someone who I consider to be the love of me loife. What I noticed, when listening to the part on anxious and avoidant attachments is that when I'm single, I'm avoidant. I do not care for meeting anyone, I love my me time, I could not care less for romantic love, then I enter a relationship and I am anxious, wtf! Conversations to have with my therapist, hehe. And I've been working on it myself...
I was so avoidant at the start when the prospect of having a romantic connection cropped up, as I'd met him so soon after my break up. In fact I met him while we were still together, so the relationship actually began as a friendship. When there was talk of romantic feels, I freaked out. I did not want to lose my freedom, which I had lost in my previous relationship, on top of losing my freedom to my family life (South Asian Woman problems hehe haha). I said I needed helllla time and space to make sure I am remaining true to myself and not sacrificing my needs or dimming my spirituality for someone else, I was met with deep understanding and love.
I saw that I could be in romantic relationship and in relationship with myself. I could have that "single girl energy", which to me was never about dating people, but about being in relationship with myself and my loved ones and now, come to think of it, it's actually "independent girl energy" Big up, haha! It's about continuing to dream big for MYSELF, continuing to adventure solo as well as with my partner, adventuring with my friends, heading to events to meet new people just to make new friends/learn about different people, reading/being open to learning things that challenge my current beliefs, practicing my meditation, my yoga, my reiki my etc etc. I made sure to fly that flag high because I did not want to mute it.
I realised I didn't need to sacrifice any of this magic to be in a relationship, although I was taught that I did, whether that was for family or for a partner or for kids.
Being in romantic relationship with someone is so scary, often I find I lose my voice when things get deeper and the longer time goes on (anxious attachment) as I'm afraid everything will change for the worse. But I've been EFT Tapping on it baby, and instead I choose to believe the more I use my voice and speak my truth, the more things will change for the BETTER.
No relationship is permanent, it's fluid, always in flow. I aim not to strive for perfection anymore, or expect my partner to be perfect, but to be open to learn, grow and be honest with myself and my partner. To be open to having uncomfortable conversations so to not be uncomfortable in the relationship.
    It's all a journey 💗

Thank you for sharing your journey with such honesty! 🌟 It's inspiring to see you embracing growth and self-discovery, both alone and in love. Keep flying that flag of independence and self-love high. 💕

I’m only 2:39 into the podcast, I was thinking to myself “I absolutely adore Sahara Rose’s outfit” 😂 This video definitely popped up for me on my feed right now for a reason I can’t wait to hear your perspective! 🩷

  • @Michevell
    @Michevell Před 6 měsíci +2

Okay now I was able to watch this podcast fully and take notes. You’re absolutely right, you should get clear on what you desire at this moment in life… and be open to the fact that it can change and also your partner can change… but to still go in with an open heart and mind and not worry about it being permanent and the same forever.
I also agree to never lose yourself in relationships and to prioritize yourself… to just be yourself right from the beginning instead of being worried about them “liking” you… to be okay with taking things slow… to check in on how you feel during and after the date and in between dates… and to treat them like they are your potential partner rather than using them as a “placeholder”…
I love all the nuances you presented in this whole podcast because not everything is black and white. You have a very open perspective that comes from a place of love.. I can tell you have done a lot of healing work which is so inspiring and refreshing to see.
I’m loving this series! Thank you for presenting these topics in an easy, digestible, and fun way. Sending much love and blessings your way 💖

I Loved this episode! You’re so fabulous Sahara! I laughed so much. The “unbreak my heart” song had me in tears! I appreciate the wisdom you shared & the very helpful tips, especially about being present and enjoying the single phase. That’s a hard one for me. I’ve been single for years. But your perspective is refreshing.
I’m also glad you mentioned that you want to be in relationship and enjoy being in a relationship -countering the narrative that singles should just be content with singleness & are shamed for feeling discontent. That resonated deeply. Two things can be true at the same time- desiring a relationship, but also enjoying & developing oneself while single. Many blessings 🙏🏽

This episode was sooo bomb!!! I was laughing soooo hard throughout, especially the cake reference...cozthat was sooo me, just wanting to gulp it all down and feeling sick afterwards. So its weird right now, starting to explore someone in partnership and he is going slow, and I'm learning and trying to take bite size pieces. This was super refreshing from all the gunk dating advice thats full on these streets! So thank you so much!! ❤❤❤

I've never dated. I meet someone we click & are together for years or not. I've been solo since 2017 after my ex bailed our marriage by phone. Happy to be with myself & caregiving for my folks. I would never do a dating app, ever! If I'm meant to be with someone that someone will appear if not then that won't happen. Done even thinking about relationships. A lot of what you speak to here is age-related, trust me, half of this won't mean a thing when you're over 50! Mid-life womanhood real authenticity is a thing :)
