    I think the biggest reason why Cleric is the least picked class is because most people keep Shadowheart in the party and don't want to overlap with her.

      i tend to agree with this...plua a cleric ideally needs con and some dex and even a little str which means you're never going to be the face (which is the other huge factor...I think many people want their char to be the face hence the extra popularity of paladin and sorc.

      For Mass Effect, a rare thing I did that was satisfying: let Wrex die or not meet him in 1. In 2, don't save Maelon's data... this makes Eve die in 3 (nothing you do in ME3 but your decisions on Mordin's loyalty mission in 2), and IF BOTH Wrex and Eve are nowhere to be found and Wreav is krogan leader and kept unchecked, Mordin Solus agrees to sabotage the cure, so you don't have to kill him, he doesn't make a sacrifice, and lives. There are special messages related to that and I don't think many people got those. Really cool for second or third run when you want to see interactions with Wreav anyway.

    • @joetheschmoe1066
      @joetheschmoe1066 Před měsícem +78

      This. Most people are going to make their character a party face unless ur in a coop campaign. And even then, it's only because someone else is already doing it. Their tav is essentially the main character, so having a class you can have high charisma in to actually talk to people makes sense. Especially since the memes are so popular of people doing crazy shenanigans, just with dialogue options. People are naturally gonna try to replicate those.

      I believe it’s because the Emperor prioritizes freedom, survival, and power all in that order. He needs to be free of the Netherbrain, but if Orpheus is freed he will most certainly be killed for everything he’s done up to this point. So he has to turn to survival. I think he could’ve expressed it a bit better.
      If he said “By freeing him you’ve ordered my execution. I do NOT take that lightly. I will join with the Netherbrain and spare myself that execution. How disappointing,” it could’ve made his intentions more clear.
      Realistically, the artifact and Orpheus’ power are the only things keeping the Emperor autonomous. If Orpheus forces him to leave, he will join the Netherbrain automatically. And if Orpheus kills him, everything he’s worked for will be for nothing and he will die. It’s a lose lose for him.

      @riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip Před měsícem +7

      I got really angry the other day. I'm playing durge warlock so obviously I have to have the greatest robe in the game for the warlock. But at the same time I was going to romance minthara for the very first time since I've never recruited her. You cannot romance her without raiding the grove which results in alfira's death. That also means I don't get the armor of persistence or the boots or the dreadshot or any of the other good stuff. So what I decided to do was to use mods to summon in the tutorial chest and the barrel and pulled out everything that was related to their quest rewards and purchasable and just throw it in my camp storage and only use it when I would normally get access to it. I honestly feel that you lose out on so much of this game just from raiding the Grove in the very first act. It's honestly such a disappointment that you lose out on what feels like around 20% of this game just from a single choice in the very first act. Even after a year and a lot of updates to the evil playthrough aspects it seems like evil playthroughs will always get these short end of the stick every single time.

    Literally nothing is worse than being 0.0000005m away from being able to make a melee attack and then you have to used ranged at disadvantage. But just in general the most op thing you can do is be mobile, it gives you a tremendous advantage in fights. Such as kiting melee enemies with ranged attacks just to give an example.

It would explain why Sorcerer is so high with all the starting for cons proficiency for only one level (a 1 sorcerer / 11 wizard counts as sorcerer?). Popularity numbers would be too hard to judge if they included those because almost every player has multiclassed at least once for a level or 2, so how would you determine which class players like more if you did that. Classes like Bard and Rogue would shoot through the roof because so many multiclass builds use their subclasses, like ranger builds that use college of swords or thief for extra bonus actions.

    • @AirLancer
      @AirLancer Před měsícem +6

      I think part of it is because of how Wildshaping works, it takes a lot of fun out of speccing out your character. Lots of really useful abilities you get from multiclassing don't work while you're wildshaped (even when they logically should) like the Light Cleric's Warding Flare, or they're clunky. Like say you want to multiclass into Druid/Barbarian. You can only rage in combat, so if you're a Moon Druid you normally can't rage and wildshape on the same turn. You can't wildshape ahead of time because then you don't even have the option to Rage once combat starts. If you're any other kind of druid, then you can do it in one turn, but unless you're hasted you have no actions left to do anything with. Fighters' Action Surge? Can't be used while wildshaped. Rogue's cunning actions? Nope. DIVINE SMITE? No. So on and so forth.
      Going further, almost all equipment effects don't work when you're wildshaped. Lots of feats don't work or fully apply when you're wildshaped either, so it's just kind of frustrating and saps the fun out of using the class' main gimmick. Take Great Weapon Master for example, a Water Myrmidon can use the extra damage feature, but the bonus action attack won't work for no real reason besides it being too hard for them to code I guess.
      And while Druids do get access to good spells, they're not as good at being spellcasters as other dedicated spellcaster classes. Their best abilities come really late into their level progression, so they're not good for small dips since they don't offer much at low levels that you can't get from other classes.
      Combine that with them being a Wisdom class, so you're not going to have high Charisma for all those dialogue checks.

      @AirLancer Před měsícem

      @@Corundrom Well, I was specifically talking about actual wild shaping. Symbiotic Entity is more flexible, but wild shaping has so many caveats while being the Druids' main gimmick that separates it from other classes. In any case to me Symbiotic Entity still isn't great, the temp HP scales off of druid level so you still have to invest more levels into Druid for it, and Necrotic damage is one of the most commonly resisted damage types in the game.
      The best thing about Druids is just the sheer amount of summons they can have.

      Well, I think the reason for this is the same reason wizard and cleric are low. You get access to not just one, but TWO druid companions in the game. They're a WIS class and don't front well, especially if you want to be silly and walk around wild shaped all the time since you have to drop it to actually talk to people.
      It was my personal first character. I'm not much of a gamer and went in with plenty of Dnd knowledge but knew very little about the gameplay. Took roughly 10 hours of rage inducing learning curves for me to finally figure out the mechanics and the thing that kept me playing through the frustration was the fact that my silly little wild shape bear could sit in chairs and climb ladders.
      But now that I know the game, i wouldn't pick druid as my own class either, I'd re-spec someone or just wait until getting the others. The game is infinitely easier to play with a CHA party front, and the re-spec mechanic allows you to play all the classes you like anyway. I just picked Wizard to be a necromancer and I am STRUGGLING on dialogue checks.

You can delegate combat prowess to companions, reset their classes and treat CHA as dump stat, but in many cases in dialogues you will not be allowed to make final choice as an "extra", so being able to win dialogue rolls as MC while still capable of handing out asswhoopings gives Palas and Sorcs advantage in character creation with first time players.

For example: I will choose Wood Elf because of roleplay vs because of increased move speed (or human because of Shield Proficiency). Or I will play as a good guy because of roleplay vs I will get this and this items.
    For Astarion as main character I think that reason is that you want a good rogue in your party and one way is to play as Astarion as preventive measure to avoid his disapproval.

      My run is Wood Half-Elf Sorcadin and reasons for race are both shallow: half-elves had the only preset face I liked, and Wood ones, yes, got great passives and I wanted a tan hero. Half of your party are High Elves so it was a good choice for variety... Class, I almost always play Paladins but added Sorc levels when I found Necronomicon and wanted to get Shovel permanently. So had Gale write down the spell, cast it, and adopt it as a spell-shite. xD

    I used to he a Paladin/sorc or Paladin/Warlock Original tav...in my last playthru i did an Half-orc barb(5)berzerker/fighter(4)champion/rogue(3)thief....throwing stuff, i kept the bracer and the ring the whole game. Its SO STRONG, i will have a hard time playing something else.
    When you throw and tey to remove invuln on Orin, 1 throw count for 3 attack, because you get the throw, then 2x 1d4 extra damage and they count as an attack on their own. You get to throw twice for your normal attack and then one time for bonus attack, and an9ther time for your sec9nd bonus attack necause of thief.
    So y9u throw 4 times per round, if you haste/pot, thats the attack.
    With tavern brawler...you add your str bonus TWICE per throw...
    If you are clever a bit, you can throw ennemies down in precipices...or....you can use smaller ennemies and throw them on other ennemies. Which make them be prone...
    So you prone 2 ennemy with 1 attack....and then you can throw on them for a guaranteed crit. Or just set up the ennemies for your party.
    I did that build for a multiplayer run...Most fun i had in an rpg EVER.
    If someone read this...try it out. Or....invite me for a playthru! I'll be your throwing barbarian with pleasure!
