Actually, the official ruling is that you CAN cast Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury from the command zone for its dash cost.
Am I missing something? Whenever J. Suarez plays his Ugin and +2's it, he makes Ugin go to ten. Shouldn't it be going to 9?

I really like these themed commander videos. More story-themed deck vs would be sweet, but I'd also be happy with tribal themed vs decks (like goblins vs elves vs demons vs angels vs dragons or similar). I'm really happy I watched this as it gave me so many ideas for my own dragon themed commander deck.
These are always great and this stayed true to it. Great game guys and I had many laughs. I can't wait for the next one.
Awesome video! I love the dragons from this set so much. Atarka is definitely the scariest IMO. I'm running a scion tribal deck with them in it, but after watching this I might make an atarka deck too. Fun stuff

Doesn't Bladewing pump ALL Dragons, not just its controller's? So Suarez could have fought it without fear because all his umps would have pumped Dromoka too?

you can dash from the command zone its just an alternate casting cost but keep in mind commander tax still apply s to it
You can totally Dash out of the Command Zone; it will return to your hand, which is actually superior to it going back to the Command Zone, as the Commander Tax is incurred every time you CAST your commander from the Command Zone. So...Stephen's dream is basically a reality.

BTW when there is a Oring effect on a general it can go to the command zone instead., just saying.
Infinite combo at 55:10 :p You could've stacked the triggers to make Karmic Guide's trigger go second, and then fight something, Karmic Guide dies, then reanimates itself, triggering to fight and to reanimate again so rinse and repeat until the board is clear and then get back E Wit.
+Cody Clawson sadly not, becouse as soon as karmic guide hits the table and the trigger goes on the stack you have to choose a target and at that time karmic guide is still in play.
I'd love to see some powerful commander decks in one of these showcases..

He gave her haste with his land.
El Salon de Senor Bandito. It gives whatever you play off the mana it produces haste for the cost of 3 life.
is it just me or should parallax wave have been sacrificed as soon as there were no fading counters on it anymore? :P

You're confusing "fading" and "vanishing."
I played a 5 player 1v1 EDH with my friends yesterday. In the middle of it one of them made a 56/56 Double Strike with temporary Trample attack one of my other friends. He blocked it with a Token while his Emmara Tandris was in play (For those that don't know, Emmara prevents all damage dealt to Tokens). They into a pretty heavy argument on whether the Trample effect would still go through. It got so bad that my other 2 friends got sucked into it as well, one on the Trampler's side, the other on the Tokens side. In the end, my friend with the Token decided to take the damage, cause it was getting ridiculous. But I want to know whether he was right or was the Trampler?
I'm guessing the token was 2 so it's the same as indestructible. All trample damage goes over indestructible, so I'm guessing it would be the exact same with not taking damage.
Robert Perez emmara prevents all damage done to tokens therefore no damage can be assigned as trample damage because the token's toughness was never damaged
+Robert Perez the trampler was right. trample assignes an amount of damage that "would" be legal to the creature, the rest is dealt to the player. so the token only blocks an amount of damage equal to it's toughness.

At 55:00 Jonatthan Suarez could've kill all the board with karmic guide and the frontier siege.
Cast Karmic guide ..Both the Siege and Karmic ETB trigger ..first resolve the siege and make it fight a 4/4 ...Karmic dies and the dragon too...then resolve the karmic guide ETB trigger and have Karmic Guide enter again...you can loop that an kill all the 3 attack creatures non-black your opponets control(because karmic has to die and with mirraris wake is a 3/3) ..when you kill them all..you just use the last karmic guide ETB trigger to get a creature from your graveyard back
Pretty sure that's incorrect. Even though it hasn't resolved yet, Karmic Guide's ability needs a target in order to be placed on the stack, so you'd have to target something already in your graveyard.

why jonathan didnt play mirror -3 from his 20mana leaving 17 then pumped the creatures for 16 to leave 1mana open for the soul snare, and forcing stephen to block leaving himself with 1 creature and sarkhan then jon couldve soul snare the last creature?

Bladewing gives ALL dragons +1/+1, not just the controllers. So the fight could have killed Bladewing.
Bladewing pumps all dragon creatures, not just ones its controller controls, so no matter what Dromoka would have killed it in the fight.

True...but actually consider UB as your deck's colours - as a dragon-themed deck with 100 cards. Good luck with that. ;)
Silumgar is a pretty bad commander too.
There is a total of 11 U/B dragons excluding Silmagur all of them more or less usefull, but you forget that there is a ton of drake cards that could be used.

Silumgar is the most powerful of the 5 dragons. Hexproof alone in EDH could sway the board, along with him being a 7 toughness compared to the others. But deck wise UB would lose miserably against these other ones, look what happened with the UW deck.

Atarka, Kolaghan, and Dromoka are all female dragons.
No characters in Magic: The Gathering have a specified sex except Planeswalkers. BTW
No in the story, those three dragons are referred to as female and there are alot of other characters in MTG with defined genders. For example, all of the khans.
If you look at the lore, they call them by names. Not pronouns such as he or she

Parnell could have won much sooner. Parallax wave has to be sacrificed as soon as you can't remove any fading counters from it, so he would have gotten xenegos and all that other stuff back and likely killed someone.

This is the 2nd video I've seen with Wes in which he dies first and completely deserves it. Not that I'm some MTG/political expert, but he seems to be overly bold and critical and especially whiny and I'm glad justice was served. Forget that un-Wise guy. For someone wielding one of the most powerful counterspells ever printed in Magic, he really chooses to prevent a spell that hardly affects his board state? You go bro. You go.

I was wrong it just returns to hand. The oracle text for Dash is: (You may cast this spell for its dash cost. If you do, it gains haste, and it's returned from the battlefield to its owner's hand at the beginning of the next end step.) It doesn't say you can only cast it from hand.

Only becomes a problem if people are packing timespiral effects.
