    HI Gerald, you should use what is called 'dark field imaging' in order to locate uneven and light-scattering features. Just shine a light on it from a very shallow angle, or rather a large angle relative to the normal incidence, but the flash lamp like on the table radiating horizontally along the surface. Also, instead of keep wiping dust particles away, just use an air blower. Wearing gloves is also a good idea, because every little fatty residue will change the light scattering, just like smudges from your skin's fat on a phone. You could introduce more uneven lighting by it.
    Oh and congratulations on fixing it, feels good to repair something in the day and age where most people just know how to 'consume' something new instead of even trying! You're not crazy, I'd do the even nerdier videos, so no worries there mate :P

So it's really a non issue for me...but I might try this one day if I'm feeling adventurous 😁

  • @duckmyass
    @duckmyass Před 5 lety +6

    If you are trying to basically sand down a ridge on the diffusion panel I would suggest you invest in some sheets of "micro mesh" from one of their finishing kits. It is a special sand paper that goes to a 12,000 grit level where you can actually get a mirror polish on things like plastic. I've used it to refinish plastic lenses on old watches and if you want to get a truly smooth surface there is nothing better for plastics.

  • @pendolinofan643
    @pendolinofan643 Před 5 lety +11

    This can also be tiny plastic diffusers on top of the led backlights falling off (usually heat / humidity causes the glue to weaken over time and they drop off). Pull of that last diffuser panel and you may find several lying around if this methos doesnt get rid of the spot. Gluing these back on should solve the issue

  • @Manny_News_Blogs_Tutorials

I give them another 2 weeks to figure it out the problem until I saw your video. The most technique you should try is download a color pattern most specially blue and green one. Maybe you can still spot more white pixels.

Something I noticed here is that, in the moment I remove my screen, the white spot got less appearent. Hence, I cleaned behind and the white spot got better. Not fixed, but better. Here It is almost invisible now. I need a white wallpaper and concentrate on the white spot to find the spot again.

    I would never trust a BenQ monitor again after having such a pathetic failure, the power supply was integrated which something I hated as well.
    I replaced it with a 24 inch Samsung TN never had problems and loved the capacitve buttons. After a while, I upgraded to a 27 inch IPS but it's not perfect, it has the same issue like you do but I'm not that annoyed by it. Quality control is REALLY loose on many monitor manufacturers and I hate it.

    I'm staring at 3-4 such white blobs on my dell laptop. I have already sent in panel for warranty fix of same thing a year ago. It came back with some of the plastic fasteners broken.. so ... I'm just going to live with what amounts to "eye floaters"

      Depends. On newer laptops and phones it's fairly common for pressure spots to appear eventually as the devices get flexed. On a PC monitor that just sits on desk all day nothing happens really.

    I have an issue where the pixels are darker instead of lighter, and its right at the edges after cleaning my screen with monitor wipes. I'm pretty sure the cleaning solution got round the edge of the panel. Reckon it's worth having a look inside, or would this kind of thing be permanent damage?

Can't see a way to disassemble my laptop screen and not sure i'd get it all back together. Got 3 of these white spots all of a sudden, almost in a line. Could have been bent or impacted although im not sure when...

    Question: I live in the UK and we have these annoying little bugs called midges (don't know if I spelled that right) that get into our homes from time to time, I think one got under my screen and died lol, should I try this to get rid of the spot or just leave it alone. I think I could probably repeat your steps but just interested in an opinion as the most I've ever done computer-wise is build my pc, I've never taken components apart short of removing keyboard keys to dampen or clean my board.
    Thank you in advance for any advice :)
