What remarkable singing. Reminiscent of Bulgarian voices.

The harmony is still melancholic and still so beautiful.

Now it's easy to understand why the world's (for me?) most famous Portuguese song, Grândola, Vila Morena, is so beautiful. Georgian, Bulgarian, Corsican, now Portuguese polyphony. What a wealth.

The first song reminds of our local practice of Pabasa ng Pasyon during Lent here in the Philippines. Choirs of old women would sing in voices similar to the ones on the video, and they will sing the life of Christ, sometimes they would go on for days.
