    I lost my 3lbs Maltese this year. She would have been 19yrs Old this Christmas. She was very healthy for 17 of her years! Miss her so much! Head strong and self assured dog! If I get over her I may look at the Maltipoo!!

      We have a Maltipoo that is about 6 (rescued), and a Maltese that will be 17 in October. I love my old Dixie girl, sweetest dog I've ever seen, but I know she can't be here forever. Sophie the maltipoo, is a great little girl too, but my wife has made her so rotten you just can't believe it! She even goes to a lot of the stores in town and rides in the buggy while my wife shops. We love 'em both, and I'm really sorry about your little Maltese. I think you'll love a Maltipoo once you're ready for another dog!

    I had a maltipoo for 11 years (he ran away) he was the funniest dog I've ever known. One day, I say maybe around his 5th birthday, he began running into things that he wouldn't normally and staring at nothingness. Found out he had Progressive Retinal Atrophy =(. Despite that he adjusted pretty quickly and remained his regular boujie-ness. He was a such a cuddle monster =) I miss him.

    I have an eight year old, 12 lb blonde Maltipoo that I got from a friend right before she turned four and she's literally the best thing in my life 💕 I thank God for every day she's in my life. I spoil her rotten because she deserves it, she's shown me so much about love!! She's such an affectionate, obedient, calm little dog. She loves to sleep everywhere on anything, curtains, rugs, stray pillows that fell on the floor, blankets, she thinks it's all for her! She's so smart and does so many tricks for one little treat, goes nuts if she hears a cheese wrapper, and while she can be very lazy as soon as you get the toys out and get her started, boy her long legs carry her around like a rocket! She's very timid with new people and only likes other small dogs with a calm misdemeanor as she is frightened very easily, but loves to roughhouse with the cat next door. Hands down would own another Maltipoo again in my life. They won't be the same as my precious little cookie, but this is such an awesome breed. You just have to keep up with the hair!!

    These dogs are amazing. I have one. She’s an angel, plain and simple. They are well proportioned and are generally pretty fast runners. She has never had health issues so far. Also, I’ve noticed that she will match my mood. She is all for laying on the couch watching tv, or running around outside with me. They are beautiful dogs and are not bred to have health issues. Such as pugs who are terribly bred and end up costing you thousands in vet bills. If you are getting one and already have a large dog, be sure that the large dog is gentle. My maltipoo can get hurt pretty easily. Also, they have a HIGH prey drive. She gets along perfectly fine with my cat, but when she sees a bunny it’s full hunter-mode activated

    My maltipoo is 13 years old- and he still gets mistaken for a puppy! He's already going grey, but he has a total feisty attitude of a pup. He has so much personality- he often snorts at us when we ask him a question, or make fun of him. But he has benign lumps all over him- something common with poodles, and he has Cushing's disease now- again common with poodles. Just something to expect in those senior years. We have him on a homeade diet to control his disease. It's been hard watching him suffer- there's not really a direct cure, and it will eventually take him. Somehow though, he manages to perk right up after a bad week- then it's off to barking at nothing, demanding treats again, and running all over the house jumping up like a jumping bean. Maltipoos often suffer from separation anxiety too- they desire constant attention and companionship (even if they don't like cuddles- ours is a 'love me from a distance, but don't ever leave me' type lol. If you're not going to be home often, please don't get this breed. Despite the issues of his breed, the positive aspects are incredibly rewarding. I've never loved a dog this much in my life- he's irreplaceable. Just don't expect this breed to go on a morning jog with you haha!

      As for separation anxiety, I was cautious about this very early and began saying "I'll be right back" anytime I left the house for short or long. When I returned I'd say "I'm back" Maltipoos are able to learn a lot of words and it didn't take her long to trust me to always
      return.

    I have a gray maltipoo named gracie. She was a shelter rescue dog, and im assuming she didnt grow up playing, or she was a street dog because she doesnt play with toys, though she is very hyper. She follows us around the house and loves to give kisses, after we go on a walk, she stops outside the house and wont even budge, she is stubborn, but shes the best pup ever, love her to the moon and back. Also shes the opposite of what you said, she pretends cats dont exist, but she is dog aggressive

    I have a maltipoo who I put around toddlers ages 1-4 as a puppy. she nibbled but never was "snappy". she's excellent and very aware of babies as well (introduced around her age of 1). very cautious as she approaches them. she is now 2.5 years old and still very much the same. only thing id disagree with in this video. although she is only one of many maltipoos out there sooo she just may be something kinda special ;) She does love to be active, loves her walks, loves to meet everyone and every dog she comes across. she is very attention seeking but not in a negative way. Lexi is 5.2 lbs, 2.5 yrs old. 1st generation accident (Owners both neighbors with pure breeds, pups couldn't keep away from each other and lucky me got 1 of the 3 in the litter) love this breed so much. sweet, loving, very aware. playful, smart, easy to train, great for big or small families, loves outdoors except when its raining. backyard is now squirrel free bc she ran them all off. she is small so likes to sit up or get up high so she can see what's going on. ill stop bc I could go on about how awesome my dog and the maltipoo dogs are.

    I have 3 maltipoos, 2 females & 1 male. Best dogs ever.. cuddly, playful, but they do tend to be barkers & will chase squirrels in the yard. Great with kids !! They all have very different personalities, even though the females are sisters. One is shy & bashful, the other very outgoing & loves everyone & everything in the world! The male is a rescue who had been on the streets for several years.. he is very layed back and just grateful to have a home! Very well behaved!! There are many maltipoos that need to be rescued.. please give them a chance!! 🐶🐶🐶

    I have a 5 year old Maltipoo named Chloe. She weighs 4 pounds and is a delightful little addition to my family. I already had a male Maltese, two years older than her. He’s about 10 pounds. I got her, hoping they would keep each other company, but they have such opposite personalities. They do get along though. Chloe is like a puppy, wants to play all the time, loves her toys, just a ball of energy. People think she IS a puppy! She does require her beauty sleep. She is very affectionate and if she has her way, she doesn’t just sit by my side, she wants to be in my lap. She is healthy. She does not get people food. You do have to keep a Maltipoo and a Maltese groomed. Both of mine are white and do not shed at all! I would recommend a Maltipoo if you want a furbaby that loves you, adores you, and thinks you ‘hung the moon’. :)

    I had a Maltipoo and a Maltese. male and female. they were together for 12 years the female died first. the male grieved for her they were constant companions and took care of each other. He would not eat anything until she got her share. she would lay beside him and groom him and clean his ears. They were the joy of my life now I miss them both terribly. Somehow they communicated with out making a sound. but by their actions you knew they knew what the other one was thinking. They gave me hours of pleasure. both are very loving gentle dogs.

    My multipoo is about the size of a miniature schnauzer. He is super fun, but due to us poorly potty training him, he has to wear a diaper that covers his...thing...
    We got him when my sisters were pretty young but he has never snapped at any younger children. He has a white coloring with peach-ish spots that aren’t very noticeable until you’re around him more often. He gets along great with my over-grown miniature schnauzer, has made friends with a miniature pinschure (sorry I’m not the best at spelling), and even tries to become friends with my rag doll cat!
    The only time he is aggressive is when my mini schnauzer is barking at people and other dogs, and even then he’s just trying to act all cool by barking but eventually just hides in a bush. He’s not the fittest but he definitely is not chubby. He has a ton of fur that has a weird mixture of straight and curly.
    He honestly is the best friend I could ever ask for ♥️
    I do recommend this breed to people who are looking for a playful yet lazy pup to have around the house

    I have had maltipoos for the last 8 yrs. after my first I just wanted more and more and would never think of getting another breed. We now have three maltipoos and they are truly the best dogs ever. They are great with our children, a breeze to potty train (every one of them we have had), they are playful but know when it’s time to chill, The are extremely loyal and all three are my best friends. We have a little girl who is tiny and two males who are average in size. I would say a small medium size (maybe 15-17 pounds). The only time they bark is when they are doing there job or when we are playing with them but quickly stop when told to. I could go on and on about how great our three babies are...but if your watching this video, chances are...you already know! Maltipoos will always be in our lives. Zelda is my malti-poo. I settled on this cross by choosing the two breeds I thought were the most appropriate for my needs. I got Zelda from a cross-breed clearing house. You put in your 2 breeds and they showed all the puppies available. She was expensive, had to be flown from Texas, and I have never regretted getting her for one moment. She is precisely as this video says.
    Zelda has many fans and they bring treats to curry favor. I even have 2 men who pretend to date me so that they can see her. She also loves cats.
    Zelda was 3 months when she arrived and I had her trained to SIT within 3 days.
    I also trained her to "go" indoors. I have a set of 6 reversible cotton bath mats on a crate liner of the
    same size. She uses one for a day, then another, & we wash every 3 days. She knows the words "pee" and "pooh" and goes on command. This was easy to train.

    Mine was beaten badly for almost 6yrs (he’s 8 now and away from those evil people) and he’s very shy and scared literally all day long. For the longest time I’ve been extremely nice to him and keeping him close by so he feels safe. He never leaves my sight now and follows me every where. He’s such a warm and loving dog. Will he always be scared? When I go to pet him he moves away fast and doesn’t want me touching his head. Any advice?

      This seems to be typical of the maltipoo. Mine adores nearly all people, is less certain about small children as they tend to dive at her with their hands. But she loves cats, too.

      Maltipoos are very smart and highly trainable. But you should start immediately so as not to misstrain one. Mine is food motivated, which is the easiest way to train.

    Hey any maltipoo owners out ther I was wondering if you had any insights on the breed. I am looking to get one and just trying to do the best research. I already have one dog(Maltese) do they generally get along with other dogs, how much exercise do they need, do they bark a lot etc. also I know there is no specific weight range but on average what is the size of your maltipoo because 20 pounds is not a good size for my living situation. Thanks for any responses I get it is really helpful
    (Edit) I actually ended up getting another Maltese from a friend who’s dog had puppies but i hope this will be helpful to people looking for maltipoo’s in the future

      I have a Maltipoo he weighs 10lbs and is about 6 years old. It's good to walk them at least a couple of times a day and sometimes I go outside and have him chase me because he is prone to have a lot of pent up energy but he will only run at full speed for a couple of minutes. They are also really finiky eaters so it took a while to figure out what he likes. He rarely barks. When I got him I thought he had been debarked until one day he heard a sound and started barking.

    • @sylvesterwright1527
      @sylvesterwright1527 Před 5 lety +20

      Also, my Maltipoo thinks every dog and person is his best friend. If he doesn't like someone he can be standoffish but never aggressive. I just got a Maltese puppy and they get along great.
