Brilliant video, thanks! We've just fixed a sticking valve pin on a Danfoss TRV - exactly as you described. Saved ourselves the callout fee and all the aggro of getting a plumber out (we live in the country and these things take time . . .). Have just watched the balancing video as well and - for the first time - actually begin to understand how the system works! Highly recommended!!

Much appreciation Plumberparts! Due to Covid my wife had to work from from home. But the radiator was not working in her room. After lots of complaints, I followed your advice. I had a problem with the TRV pin, and thanks to your tip of gently knocking the side, the pin opened up! I now have a radiator that works, and a happy wife!

Can't thank you enough. Superb clear instructive video.
Flow and return pipes both cold on one radiator - followed your instructions - opened up lock-shield valve fully - nothing! Still cold. I then turned my attention to the TRV (Siemens) and removed it. The 'pin' (bit sticking up) wouldn't move at all, wasn't sure how far it was supposed to be sticking up. Sprayed some WD40 on it and left it whilst I went to have another look at your video in case I wasn't doing it right. A few minutes later when I returned to the rad - Whoopee!! It was already hot, and the pin was noticeably sticking up further, and I was able to push it down and see that it was free. So thank you so much - you're an absolute star!! .....I have subscribed to your site so that I can return if I need any info another time.

Awesome! I live in a rented house, and this video has saved me the effort of having to get the letting agency to do something about it. I kind of knew it must be something simple and Google brought me here.
The radiator in my office was stone cold, but full of water. Gently pulling on the pin in the TRV made the radiator instantly heat up, and now everything is nice and hot the pin moves around freely again. The hardest part was getting the TRV head off, it's secured with clips and a metal C ring and some old paint, and a bit of rust and clearly hasn't been removed in 20 years.

Thank you for being one of those caring proffessionals that shares logical and well explained layman terms knowledge, I had one radiator stop working and British gas took it off clean it out (which I had already done having read on another video sludge could be a problem) and there was nothing coming out when he did it (obviously as I had already done it and told him), he put sludge buster in my water tank and basically gave up but said boiler was all good and other radiators and said maybe need floorboards ripping up to find problem 😲and that was that. I have lived with that issue for years until another radiator went cold then a a couple months later another one until today all but first and last had stopped working - having seen your video I carefully took off the regulator valve on each radiator and notice because i was in a hard water area the pins had locked down - i took your advice and gently wiggled them and cleaned them and immediately heard the rush sound and they heated up - everything fixed thanks to you and in 2022 with the fuels hikes and everything expensive and being unemployed this has save me an immense headache and stress! May you have great and happy times ahead for passing on good knowledge.

Thank you! This is amazing. I gave that little pin a tap with the hammer and it popped straight up and brought the heat through. I'm so grateful, I had very cold young children and was totally at a loss. Thank you 😊

Had a new boiler installed yesterday/today. Kitchen radiator wasn't working. Quick google and you got it sorted for me with the Lock Shield Valve. Many thanks @Plumberparts

Top man! I found the pin under the TRV was stuck in. Slight wiggle with some pliers and up it popped. Amazing how something so small could cause an issue like a whole rad going stone cold....saved me some money at any rate. God bless you.
