I just bought a new house with a well. When I did the walk through with the inspector, we didn't notice anything unusual about the water coming from the tap. I later learned that the seller probably shock chlorinated the well before listing the house. Within a matter of weeks after moving in, we had the nastiest, rotten egg smelling water you can imagine (I grew up in a house with a well and I've never experienced anything like this). I just had a sales consultant from Culligan out to my house who sold me on a Culligan iron filter and RO system. I'm really excited to see how effective this system is in transforming the worst smelling tap water I've ever experienced (and I've been to China and Mexico where warnings are posted next to hotel room faucets not to drink the water).
