- We sailed on the Majestic Princess twice in 2021 and want to share with you what we really liked about the cruise ship as well as what we didn't like. Definitely more likes than dislikes on the Majestic Princess. Hey and thanks for your video. I was on the Majestic January 15-22, 2022. The Hollywood pool was heated and very nice. They must have heard that they needed to heat that pool.

We were on the Majestic Princess for 49 days from Rome to Shanghai when it was new. Loved the noodle bar! and the conservatory. BUT many of the guest thought it was a sanctuary and complained about too many people up there. Overall the Majestic is our favorite Princess ship.

Totally agree with you about the cold pool, pizza place, and where the toilet paper is on The Majestic! The inside pool was cold, the pizza belongs outside, noodles, inside, and we took the t.p. off the holder and put it on the sink all the time also! Soooo funny we all think the same!
Hi Allison and Gordon. Thanks for the review video. As my wife would say about the scaled down desert section, "oh noooo! ". Our two adventures on the Royal Princess pre pandemic, that was such a great buffet feature. She absolutely loved it. Ok, me too. As long as on Emerald, she can get her cookie fix along with chocolate croissants. 🌞👍👍👍

Great ship review…thanks for sharing the pros and cons. Though none are deal breakers, its good to know what to expect on this ship which was geared to a certain geographic region.

Thank you for sharing. We will be going onboard this Saturday. Went on our first Princess cruise in November and enjoyed it on the Grand. There were less than 500 passengers so the service was fantastic! Unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience at the Crown Grill both the food and service was subpar. We are looking forward to the Crown on the upcoming cruise on the Majestic!

We sailed on the Majestic to Mexico Dec 28 thru January 9. New Years was fun. We missed the same things you mentioned but are cruising with Enchanted Princess again in November 22. The weather was a little cold but still had a great time. Room service was not as we had before but all in all we are looking forward to cruising again. Hot tube was fine but crowed and think it will be a challenge in November when I think the ships will be closer to full. Love your you tube channel. I check it almost every day for up to date information. I missed the pizza too but my wife is asian and loved the noodle bar. I did too.......
Hi. Allison and Gordon. We sailed Majestic Princess 15 days from New Zealand to Australia 2 year ago and recently sailed 4 days California Coast one thing we like most is Chop Stick bar noodle.
We sailed on Majestic twice this year also. Alaska end of August and Mexican Riviera New Years' cruise. I laughed when you talked about the toilet paper. I had a hard time finding it on the first cruise. I also put the roll on the bottom shelf closer to the toilet and our cabin steward kept putting it back too!

We've done 2btb since October..... Agree with your comments.... The first trip in November the indoor pool was cold but manufactured trip it was warm... They've also added motion lighting in the rooms... So when you get out of bed in the middle of the night, they come on.... Very bright over the closet area... We put take over the sensor lol..... Going back in three weeks for another btb.....
I think it's lovely that you give a shout-out to your wonderful servers and crew. They might not see what you said on CZcams but somebody from Princess will. I think it's so important to be kind to them. Some passengers treat crew as subhumans. And I think that is disgusting
Exactly! Couldn't find toilet paper for awhile. Wish closet sensor light had dim for night. Great servers. Only went to buffet for late breakfast twice, and late lunch once. Very little out. Someone said that's what I should expect, but we got back from excursion and we were hungry!
We love the Majestic Princess. We sailed on her a few times. To China, Australia, Alaska and Mexico. We loved the Chinese Restaurant (The Harmony) and the noodle bar. We think that the Hollywood Conservatory Cabanas next to the pool has too strong chlorine smell. We were on her last December after almost 2 years for not sailing, and the sail away party really brought tears to my eyes. I missed cruising! Will be on Discovery Princess on her First cruise this March.

I agree with you on the pools-they need more places to swim.
The one thing I didn’t like was the fancy menus (try not to laugh-but I don’t have a fancy palate and I am a picky eater-no mushrooms and I don’t eat seafood). My husband LOVED the menu. One day, after looking at the menu, I went and ordered a calzone to go at Alfredo’s and brought it in while my husband ate off the menu. In all fairness, it’s not a new dilemma for me🤣.
I agree with you, I did love, that wherever we were walking there was always a place to get a refreshing mocktail beverage.
Pizza!! Agree - Okay to have the Noodle Bar but not in lieu of grab 'n go pizza when you just want a snack. Perhaps Alfredo's on the Majestic could add pizza slices to-go. Also agree that a nice promenade deck is missing from so many of the larger ships. That's likely what sways me to choose smaller over the mega ships. Thanks for sharing your pro's and con's.
Just returned from Mexican Riviera cruise on the Majestic. Laughed at your toilet paper comment, we felt the same way and took ours off of the dispenser too! I agree with the desert comment, and generally felt like the food overall in the buffet was below Princess standards. Also, it seemed to occasionally take a long time to get served water or drinks at the buffet, even though we were at 25% capacity. The dining staff, room stewards, and production shows were outstanding as usual.
I agree with everything you said about the food in Buffett. Was disappointed. Missed the pizza too!
We went on the Majestic Princess to Mexico in November. The hamburgers on the Majestic Princess were not very good. Just finished another cruise on the Carnival Glory. Loved the Guy's Burgers. We really enjoyed the pool on the Majestic Princess in the Hollywood Conservatory. A little cool, but uncrowded, as everyone seemed to go to the main pool outside.
We sailed the first week of February, and we loved the Majestic! Totally agree, the crew was exceptional, so nice and friendly. Did such a good job. There were only 900 people onboard. The crew seemed relaxed. The whole ship seemed relaxed! I didn’t sample many desserts in the buffet, but did have the brownies one day. They were dry and crumbly. How do you get brownies so wrong? The food in the MDR overall was great, so delicious. We were in the Allegro with a little table by the window, and the service was great. LOVED the Hollywood Conservatory…we spent time there every day. So happy that space was free. The indoor pool was heated on our cruise and we really enjoyed it. Anyway, would sail on her again!
I just finished my first cruise.I went on the Majestic 1/29/22 to 2/5/22 to the Mexican Riviera.Only 900 passengers on board.
Hernanie and Ivanka in the Concerto MDR were absolutely the highlight of our voyage. Also, I loved the noodle bar and visited it so much more than I would have tried pizzas. Kevin…Kevin haha. I chuckled every time he began a sentence with “as well” haha. He was great though. Hollywood Conservatory too…just top notch all around.

Princess notified us that we would be getting a room update, however when we called our Princess representative to see about that change it really wasn't an upgrade. We would have been in a deluxe balcony room (which if you look on the room diagrams would have been a queen bed and a sofa bed). She informed us that we would still have twin beds since there would be three of us in the room. This morning we called Princess direct to check on the stateroom just to be sure. This representative informed us that there wouldn't even be a bed for our daughter, so we had then book us back in our original room. That was a little disappointing. It was nice to hear about the desserts on the Majestic...as an insulin dependent diabetic there's usually not much to choose from when it comes to desserts.
Thanks for the very informative review. Some your negatives are actually positive for me like oodles vs pizza and a large indoor pool area. I think I'm going to book a long LA-Sydney cruise for October 2023. My only worry is the number of people but a long cruise (26 days!) should be pretty quiet.

I've had a lot of problems so far, from the app not working, the website not working, the excursions that made me want to choose this trip are no longer available or sold out, and I can't even book an excursion, because of technical problems with the app and website. I've had 2, 1 hour long phone conversations with Princess customer service and the best advice I got was "try again tomorrow?" !! Honestly, I would have rather gone on the 13 day Honolulu to Auckland trip on the Grand Princess as far as the itinerary goes. I literally paid yesterday, and I don't know if I can get my money back or transfer the credit to another cruise. I don't want to be on hold/get no help, so I'm just going to "try again tomorrow." sigh.
I noticed when we sailed on the Island Princess it seemed their food was healthier and lots of fresh choices of fruits and vegetables. It was a 2 week cruise so I didn’t mind the sweets where all the way in the back of the ship. I don’t do well with temptation.

As you know the Cruise 🛳 my Family 👪 and I went on to The Mexican Riviera was originally The Love ❤️ Boat 🚢 Cruise 🛳 back in February, but was moved to October and will be going back to the same trip The Mexican Riviera this time on The New Discovery Princess 👸 we can't wait to see Her.
As much as we enjoyed being on the Majestic Princess 👸 I also found a flaw or 2 about the Ship. 🚢 Some of the things I found wrong or wish it would be suggested in future Cruises 🛳 like when we went on our 1st Cruise ever to Alaska we were on board The Island Princess 👸 3yrs ago. On the last night 🌙 at Sea 🌊 the Ship had a large farewell theme just to say Thank You to all the Passengers for a Wonderful Cruise 🛳 that the Cruise Director set up with balloons 🎈 streamers and a other 🥳 🎉 favorites.
I wish the Cruise Line 🛳 could Still do this kind of activity that was fun. You're right about the Pizza 🍕 Stand they should bring it back as well not to take away anything from The Noodle Bar.
Whenever we watch a movie 🎬 🎞 🎥 or some event on the Screen under the Stars 🌟 if it's a Concert the volume is usually up high, but if you're watching 👀 a movie 🎬 🎞 🎥 sometimes the volume is low. I don't know if it's because the movie was shown outside or what the case would be. I noticed for all Handicap Accessible Passengers if you're using a walker, scooter or wheelchair ♿️ Please make the Hallways just a little bit wider so if we have to go around a House Cleaning Service Cart or anything else that might block a little of the Isle that would make it a bit easier to get around the Ship.
The Cruise Line 🛳 use to have I believe it was located on the main floor or on the Top Deck A Garage Sale on Sea Days so you can find bargains the Cruise Ships use to have extras. The Banquet Rooms need more variety of food choices and more desert bars. I would also like to drink freshly squeeze Orange Juice 🍊 not water down taste and lastly being able to get from one end of the Ship to the other without taking the stairs or the elevator.
Example If you want to take a walk on the Ship 🚢 and you're going from the front (Bow) of the Ship staying on the same deck and ending up on the back (Stern) of the Ship I don't need to take the stairs or elevator just to get there. I would also like to see in the shops more large+ sizes for Men and Women to wear as well as shirts that has a design and/or name of the Ship and anything else about The Majestic. Lastly automatic doors for Restrooms and laundry rooms Especially Laundry Rooms because someone might be carrying a load of clothes and it's difficult to get the door and the Laundry at the same time. 🚻
Overall We Loved 😍 ❤️ being on board The Majestic Princess 👸 and now My Family 👪 and I can't wait to board The New Discovery Princess 👸 in October.

We loved the atrium on this ship. It was beautifully decorated. We only visited the Hollywood Conservatory when we cruised Glacier Bay. The park rangers set up their displays there, so there was a lot of milling around. We loved Alfredo's. We found the buffet disappointing in general, & the pastries using puff pastry, both in the buffet & International Marketplace, rather tasteless.
... some pools are not heated and sea water ... Princess however uses only fresh water ... right ... no wake view pool... I' am surprised ... noted the fact theirs no promenade but do like the night walk in the fresh air ... Take care of your crew and they take great care of you... always with a smile too ...
Outdoor pools chilly, Hollywood warm, but really chilly out of water. Entertainment was good and not so great. Hardly anyone in the pools. So funny that just the opposite last week.
It’s unfortunate you did not try Harmony. It is the only ship that Richard Chan ( 1 Michelin Star) has a restaurant on it. As you mentioned, the ship was for the Asian market so they had this versus Sabatini. That’s why no pizza slices, only the noodle place. Also Asians don’t like the sun I was told so the “sanctuary” is covered and added extra weight so as a result of this, it was the largest ship ( gross tonnage) Princess had in 2017. The captain mentioned that fact during the shake down cruise out of the ship yard.
They did change it quite a bid by removing many gambling venues and adding bard when it was repositioned to Australia. Fred
I’ll be on the Majestic Princess for the February 19 & 26 cruise. I’m planing to ask if they have any upgrades. I’ve noticed a number of Mini Suites available & since I’ve never sailed in one I would like to see what options that they have since I’ll be there for 2 weeks. I’m hoping to get the same service staff for 2 weeks. On my last cruise on the Ruby Princess my table was called Papa’s table & my server was Mama. I’ll have a lot of photos to share.
One the 26th cruise I have a Cruise Critic Meeting arranged in the Conservatory with 90 people signed up. Looking forward to a great cruise.

Yes, the hot tubs were wonderfully warm, especially as we sailed back to Los Angeles and the weather became chillier from Mexico.

We really miss the old style promenade decks. The Majestic Princess was designed and built for a specific market and then moved. That may be why the pool design doesn't fit the current sailings. The Hollywood Conservatory was like an interior Sanctuary. We loved the space, but not the seating. Too much space by the windows was blocked by clam shell type seating. Won't be my first choice in Princess ships because we like to have a sheltered place to sit and watch the scenery that isn't our cabin.

I, too, love the Hollywood Conservatory and pool. I really think all the shops should have an enclosed pool…and the conservatory is wonderful. I’m not a sanctuary fan. The best Sanctuary time I’ve had was on the Island, aft with the little pool (pre addition of cabins), during the Panama Canal transit. Lois

@Victoria Jacobson Hi Victoria, We really enjoyed the Concerto Dining room. It has excellent service and is very pretty. The Allegro is more elegant, that is also where the Chef’s Table is as well, but the 3 times we have eaten there the service has been very slow. I hope this helps.

Thanks for your view. We saw it so differently. Didn’t like the Hollywood Conservatory at all. Bring back the Sanctuary. It was dark and dangerous to walk with big puddles of water throughout. Must be very careful not to slip. Uncomfortable seating.

@Stanley Frieman Hi Stanley, As of late we have been hearing that there is no testing between back to back cruises but that can vary based on port requirements. Otherwise, you might have to get off the ship and right back on again on the turn around day, depending on what that port requires. Does that make sense? Let me know if you have more questions.

I agree with your thoughts about the lack of an actual promenade deck on all the Royal Class ships. One of our favourite parts of cruising is walking around the promenade deck enjoying the views.
If you don’t drink alcoholic drinks, do you still think the upgrade package is good value?
Pre-pandemic, we have had wonderful meals at the Crown Grill on the following Princess ships, Royal, Grand and Star. I am sorry someone else didn’t think it was a good experience.
Was the Majestic renovated? I booked June 14 Alaska cruise and at that time there was a bubble tea shop called Gong Cha. I looked at the deck plan and it no longer shows
@Vera S Hi Vera, The Majestic Princess hasn't been renovated but not the Gong Cha bubble tea shop is now the Princess Live! Cafe/Bar.
I read the Majestic has been renovated sometime in 2023, can’t remember what month. I am sailing 11/1/24.
Did I hear y’all right. Pizza to the room cost $3? I figured that was a no charge.
Princess does have a free room service menu with some limited menu options, however, all Princess ships I have cruised on do charge $3.00 for pizza to be delivered to your room.
Have any of you people considered what kind of RF/MW radiation exposure you are getting from the satellites broadcasting to that boat?
After consulting with some Electrical Engineering professors at the university where I work, and reading trade journal articles, the amount of exposure is considered so low as to not even be a concern. Thanks for prompting us to consider!
Hope the food and desserts are better than Emerald Princess. Ceilings low in dining room makes it very noisy.
We were on the Majestic to Mexico last fall. There are way more negatives than positives to us. We loved the captain and crew.
The worst part for us was the Hollywood Conservatory
. I so much miss the REAL SANCTUARY on the smaller ships. It was peaceful, had plenty of very comfortable seating. Having afternoon on tea up there and your lunch was fantastic!
The Majestic seemed crowded, somewhat noisy, people playing games, plus very slippery by the pool and as you said, cold!
Because that is our favorite area on the ship, we choose not to go on Majestic again. Hoping that our upcoming trip on Discovery will have a true Sanctuary!

I used the extra toilet paper roll and placed it on the sink counter as well. Funny thing, my boyfriend could not find it and used the kleenex instead. LOL
FYI I understand this ship was originally built for the Chinese market so maybe they don’t swim much?

My least favorite ship of the Princess fleet. Many deal breakers for me. No sanctuary, no churchills, no pizza at the pool, and hot noodles in 90-degree Mexican weather is a no for me. Also, a covered forward adults-only pool which is ok for Alaska but not Mexico.
