Learn all about my cruise on #majesticprincess in this Ultimate Review. I spent 11 nights sailing onboard the #princesscruises ship, and came away with more than a few thoughts.
From dining in Harmony and Crown Grill, to Alfredo's and the International Cafe; to experiencing entertainment including the incredible Water Fountain Show and the amazing production, "Fantastic Journey".
Our cruise travelled from #Sydney return on its way to Queensland's Brisbane, Airlie Beach, Yorkeys Knob and Port Douglas. We also enjoyed a scenic cruise-by of Australian external territory, Willis Island.
Large cruise ships such as the #royalclass ships have their upsides and down - and one of the unavoidable negative aspects just happens to be the sheer number of people onboard. With a capacity for over 3500 passengers, sailing on Majestic does come with some hiccups, most notably to do with tendering (the ship's water-shuttle service to take passengers ashore when at anchor). I'll tell you about my experience in Airlie Beach with my longest ever wait for a tender...
Majestic Princess offers so many complimentary dining venues, with food available 24x7, that it's impossible to not find something you'll like. I enjoyed the huge variety of included dining venues and think they offer good quality fare.
I'll also cover Princess 3-tier fare structure, Standard, Plus and Premier, and discuss the differences between them plus tell you which I chose because I think it represents the best value.

I really enjoyed your video and I love Majestic Princess.
Have been on her twice the first time pre covid in 2018 and the second in October last year. We did a similar cruise to you only Airlie Beach was our first port and Brisbane last.
My favourite part of the ship is the Hollywood Pool Club and Conservatory. I just love that it is free of charge and open to everyone without having to book. If they ever convert this area into the Sanctuary which is on the other ships and start making you book and pay money for it then I will be heartbroken!

Hi Adrian I’ve sailed 4 times on the Majestic twice pre Covid and 2 recently I must be honest its not my favourite Princess ship. On a positive side it has excellent cabins the best one I experienced was at the aft of the ship
My biggest complaint would be the noise level from the atrium for example I had a speciality dinner at the Asian restaurant one night when the country and western dance night started the noise spoilt the evening for me
Having done 2 world cruises on the Sea Princess and about to go on the Coral Princess in June I for this year’s world cruise thankfully having tried the Coral its a much better ship for the longer journeys it has more seating option more bars and deck 7 for walking around
I have the plus package which I bought for $40 per day before the price went
I wouldn’t do a long cruise on the Royal class ships

I do think like you, that the Coral would be the better ship for a longer cruise. Lovely passenger/space ratio and it's hard to beat the real promenade deck!
We came on the Majestic to NZ from USA. Majestic one of our top ships. Currently the Discovery by a nose. Where the DD bar on MAJ - The DISCV has live Jazz entertainment & a superb bar 😀. You would find me there nightly. And the crew were top notch - made you feel very welcomed 👍
That sounds fun - I do love jazz and a *superb* bar! I was hopeful that Discovery would be making her way down under next season, but disappointingly, it looks like plans may have changed.

Agreed, The layout of the ship took a bit of getting used to a little bit different to the Grand class but still a wonderful ship.
Our food and dining experience was exceptional and the staff were outstanding.

I recently came off the Grand after a NZ cruise. The medallion worked really well for us, with drinks deliveries to our cabin and tables no problem. I really liked it. My biggest gripe about the food is that there was NO fresh milk - all UHT. While I can understand why they use it - it's really shitty.
Glad to hear the medallion worked flawlessly on the Grand. After that 70 minute wait for coffee, it seemed to improve for us too. I truly love the tech, I really missed it on my recent P&O cruise.
Currently on board, having sailed from Sydney. Arrive Fremantle Wed 22 nd then work next day to pay for next cruise.

I found the public bathrooms to be quite small as well. And struggled to fit between the privacy screens.
Great vid i was on the same cruise..I found the buffet food and mdr was hit miss..liked Alfredo's..used the app to order stuff to my room alot.. harmony was great.. crown grill was great..still had to tap the medallion on the pad to get into my room.did your medallion open up the door just walking up to it?yes the tenders were not that good and we're like little ovens in that heat
Thanks John. My door would unlock from the down the hall... I could hear it click from about 3 doors away. Occasionally, maybe two or three times throughout the cruise, I had to tap the medallion to the panel to get it to unlock.

Just one thing to clarify. You mentioned about a complimentary specialty dining first night for suite guests. We are booked in a penthouse suite for a 20th May Alaska sailing with Majestic, but we have not heard of this perk. How should we go about getting information with this? Or we should just find out when we board on day 1? Thank you!
Hi Calvin! Thanks for watching. You can make the booking as soon as you board - using the Medallion app if you like (once you connect to the ship's wifi) and you'll see that there's no charge. You can also book via the dining/reservations line or through the Concierge who will be in the Concierge Lounge on Riviera Deck. Enjoy your cruise!
We were on the cruise before yours and also thought the music in the Piazza area was annoyingly loud, especially for the line dancing while we were trying to enjoy our morning coffee. Truely a crime against humanity! Apart from some of the shows and the latin dance spectacular we found most of the music to be pretty bland and boring, especially after our recent experience on Quantum. It was our fourth Medallion experience and it has always been a bit hit and miss. But the internet was about as slow as it gets on a cruise ship. Having said all that, cruising with the Plus package is remarkable value compared with other cruise lines and we truly enjoyed our Fiji voyage.

Yes, there's an Aussie outlet in each room, plus a couple of USB A type slots and there is a US style and EU style outlet in most rooms. I have a Majestic Princess mini suite and balcony tour on my channel which details the outlets also.
To people reading this just keep in mind Princess is always much more pricey than other cruise ships. Not sure if the convenience is worth it. E.G. I heard Princess cabin doors opens automatically when you are near the entrance, Royal Carribean you have has a tap card system and P and O you have to slot the card in.......who cares when some of the cheaper cruises are offering $50 per person per night twin share or cheaper? Not me......One deal is during the mid year school holidays ( which is rare coz they often jack their prices up then).
The medalion on Princess automatically opens your door but it is also used for many other things, as a tracker when you order food and drink. They know where you are and bring our food to yku anyshere on the dhip. It is also great for family groups as you can track where others in your group are onboard. Your room steward also knows when you are not in your room to service it.
Pricing is always a consideration, and some of the deals coming out of P&O and Carnival at the moment are insanely cheap. Having said that, paying more per day (how much more is an important thing to note) on Princess gets you an all-inclusive experience that P&O especially just can't match.
I'm going to make a video soon comparing prices and inclusions to help bring some clarity to it (for myself more than anyone else).

Hi, it comes with Princess Plus/Premier or you can buy it separately once you're onboard or online prior to your cruise if you've chosen Princess Standard as your fare.
My one and only boring cruise was on the Majestic last year out of L.A. It was so bad that I couldn't wait for the cruise to be over. Thankfully we had the drink package! lol We felt like we were floating on Heaven's waiting room!

I cruised on the Majestic 29 this year around New Zealand. I have done 16 cruises, I found the Majestic the most boring cruise ever, wasn't alone. Princess have made cut backs. Entertainment very substandard.

CROWN Grill was only $31 USD. I think this guys complaints about noisy artium are off the mark. It isn't. The bar he prefered the Double Down was boring, basicallly the very older people napping, although guy seems old beyond his years.
Crown Grill was the cost that I mentioned in the video during my sailing. As for your other comments: lol

Oh I hope other people didn't reach the same conclusion haha. I had a great time onboard, but there were some things that needed work. I try to offer a balanced review, and don't shy away from pointing out the things that could be better but overall, I would cruise on Majestic Princess again and enjoyed my time onboard.
FYI, Princess stopped sending Medallions to U.S. passengers for free. Now it’s a $10 charge.

I'm leery about this cruise now. My friend wants to do an Alaskan cruise and this cruise ship is one of the choices. Vibe looks old and boring.
Honestly I think for an Alaskan cruise, the ship means a lot less than it does on a normal itinerary. I’ve cruised Alaska with Princess, and didn’t even watch one show during the evening. I spent most of my time outdoors, watching the world go by. The sun doesn’t set until quite late, and there’s always wildlife or landscape to enjoy.
