      It's great to hear that that plasma art piece is still working! The title is "Luminosa Medusa" and the discharges are intended to evoke the snakes in a Medusa head. It's one of the few pieces left from that series I made in the 1980s.

    Very interesting project. I wonder if the "loading hole" in the side of the cylinder is part of the problem. I guess one could make a plug for the hole (hint, hint) as an experiment.

      I think it's echoes of the ultrasonic signal rattling around in that confined space. I later drilled another large hole opposite the main one and it improved things only slightly.
