      @JuneLee glad you found this one!
      On another note, I wonder if you’d ever transpose World O World from the new album, working with Jacob. I’d be really interested to find out the actual voicings in the choir.

    Love the piano at 5:29 and how it seques into a that great feeling of movement and urgency. This is a lovely arrangement for one of Colliers best pieces. It always manages to move me.

    My word. This is stunning. Technical virtuosity from you both, and such a wonderful, sophisticated arrangement. It feels much older than it is, as a piece. So swooning and decadent. And obvs being Collier, the harmony is deliciously complex. So much so that the diatonic ascending chords from @4:38 feel like a different kind of satisfying treat! Thank you

    Those glissandos sound like whale song! How do you create them? Is it like harmonics on the guitar?

    • @DavidDesimpelaere
      @DavidDesimpelaere  Před rokem +10

      Hi Paul,
      The harmonics I play are all artificial harmonics. This means you shorten the vibrating string length with your thumb and at the same time you use your 3rd or 2nd finger to play a harmonic.
      Playing a glissando downwards, without changing the position of your hand, creates the whale-effect.
      Because the interval created by your hand gets smaller the lower you slide, the frequency of the note/harmonic changes suddenly.
      A little technical explanation😊,
      Best regards
      David
