This backgrounds lineup is bonkers. I love this performance.
Mr. Taco Tuesday!!!
Came here to say this lol. I can't quite make out all the faces. It's Stevie, but is that Alita Moses and Lizzy McAlpine? Who are the rest?
Thats all I could think like wow an all star background lineup! it's so nice to see their respect and support
Jaden gray in the back left

Lizzy is a quite the little star nowadays! I'm sure it's tough for her to line up schedules to do backup now. :(
Jacob isn't making music alone in his room anymore, he's making it all over the world with an orchestra of collaborators
There’s such an evolution and I’m all here to see it. He’s finally getting the resources and recognition he deserves! Someone as brilliant as him shouldn’t have to stay hidden in their room forever
Beautiful
he has always collaborated, well at least for several years now
@@tommj4365I mean, if you think about it, Jacob's first album, In My Room was done totally solo with some collaborations here and there like with Becca Stevens and with Tori Kelly with their cover of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. He didn't start truly collaborating with his own original work until Djesse Volume 1 with Jules Buckley and the Metropole Orkest, Take 6, Laura Mvula, his mother Suzie Collier, and more.
Tori's stank face at his run 3:22. I love watching musicians appreciate other musicians!
That run goes directly to my soul! Sooo good!
Although what's come next to that is more challenging for most to sing correctly.
Yes! Ooh, I have one for you: czcams.com/video/z_-en60--NU/video.html see Tina Hizon appreciate Beverley Knight when she hits her belt in What Have I Done to Deserve This.
Her look says “something smells terrible…and I love it.”
The whole ending section is just SO satisfying!!
Tori Kelly's voice should be in a museum!
same voice than other 1000 american singers.. its a product
go listen to her crazy cover (seal)... and come back!@@lucianothomas3875
@@lucianothomas3875 Everyone's voices are distinctive in their own way, and Tori is no exception. No two voices sound the exact same.
Of course that they not exactly the same, but how many voices like that you heard before. Its a mold, a mere product. Not like Jacob for example and other great artists. Just the truth@@user-rc7ts9xu6b
It is you tube
This version is definitely more Jacobean than the original. I’m looking forward to Djesse Vol. 4!
why have we been put in a position where we wish jacob collier songs were more jacobean
@@redpenguin111 I would love for him to return to doing more covers or piano solos all by himself, I think his music is much more interesting and touching when he does strange things and experiments without limits, but if this music makes him happy, good for him.
Yes you're right. This is the shit right here we needed.
it still sounds very Kirk Franklin to me tbh
@@darp16I don’t think the original sounded very Kirk Franklin either tbh. Just sounded like a watered down version of all the artists together
I'm just grateful to be alive at the same time as Jacob tbh
Yeah, man was sent to us for this purpose and he's fulfilling it
But from which planet did he emanate from?
@@jayclarke5466 planet of delicion and nutrition
The bassist WENT IN!!!! 🔥🔥
no fear just fun !
That guy is a bass badass. Every time I see him, even in an orchestra setting, he kills it.
I had to go back listen again. Sounds like a jam for Bassplayer
Robin Mullarkey, absolute perfection IMHO
@@hoot7588: Rob Mullarkey is a white Englishman. This bassist is not Rob Mullarkey. It would be super sweet if you could pay attention, or at least refrain from posting comments when you don't know what you're talking about.
One of the great joys of being human these days is the gift of listening to Jacob and friends’ transcendent music. So many amazing moments, so many blessings…
Same, this is just absolutely breathtaking. I can’t even believe it exists.
But it certainly does!
Incredible❤
He’s magical! Descended from the Higher Realms to light up this world with his music!
No. Truer. Words. 👏🏼 👏🏼
Tori Kelly and Alita Moses on the same vocal parts. With Mackey in the alto line…. PERFECTION! 🤌🏽
I see Jaden Gray (Blakely) back there too! Absolute perfection!
one thing about tori her AGILITY is masterful the way she places notes and the way she sings is just🤌🏽😍never have I seen her overdo it, she considers every part of the song the instruments, the singers, the melody. she eats it up every time without over shining she never fails to impress me every time❤️you can appreciate every single artist and musician in that room they all did amazing❤️❤️
I don’t think people realize how masterfully talented tori is the way she places her notes and where she takes them and she never over, sings another musician if she’s with another musician she’s never off key ever she’s incredible you can give her any song under the sun and she will figure it out like this song the original one is Shawn Mendes singing the verse that tori is singing, so that means tori had to figure it out on the spot before she sang it, which impresses the heck out of me a good example of this would be her quarantea with tori concerts she did during the pandemic they’re on here somewhere ❤️🫶🏻
She’s is a super gifted singer. When someone sings so effortlessly and rarely sings out of key with a high degree difficulty.
Can’t wait for the full album.
Also I love this performance. The whole song gives gospel vibes and I never expected Jacob to write something like this.
I know right I love it! We need a little light from Life and Love Himself!
because Kirk Franklin helped out in writing and producing the song
Check out the Original record. It's featuring Shawn Mendes and Stormzy.
@@rezing8239But it's still Jacob's style

The gospel arrangement is 🔥🔥🔥 I love how he took the chord progressions of Tori Kelly's "Never Alone" at 2:33. Especially at 2:55 which where she changed the key! So cool!
So beautiful!
Tori is always going to kill it with anything gospel✝❤🔥
The way he plays 2:33 is also very reminiscent of all i need
the key change transitions Jacob comes up with are so smooth.
I think those are Kirk’s changes since he produced Never Alone. But agreed they are fire.
Holy pants, I love the bass/drums piano trio with a small group of pyrotechnic vocalists! I will happily listen to this on repeat for many days to come... 🙂
I love how every single live "promotional" performance of these songs is completely unique.
Jacob is not just a musician, he is a phenomenon. Truly magic on earth.
It’s supernatural. He connects so many. He is a creation from those who went before him.
OH MY LORD!!! WHAT DID I JUST WITNESS?!?! My eyes... they're moist... so so moist. This is such a beautiful performance, it gave me instant chills. Absolute perfection! I'm such a big fan of Jacob's gorgeous, rich tone and his incredible musicality. Also, I wish I could sing like Tori Kelly, jeeez the control and those runs!!!
I still can't quite grasp it either. Unreal that this was live.
Witness! is a good word for it.
Jacob and Tori will always be my favorite duo!!!!
This might be my favourite version of this great tune! The backing singers give it such a rich tone, great contrast with Tori's voice. Love it
You can see Jacob completely loving life while singing and playing music. A beautiful thing to watch.
Bass player is the unsung hero of this arrangement, that groove is bonkers.
Fr, who the hell is that, and where can I listen to every track they're on?!?
Whoaaaaaaaaa. Tears came quick for me on this one. Then that break down. Deep joy.
Genius in action.
Wow, that bridge was bonkers. Love to see jazzification being brought into pop
Anything to bring Jacob C & friends to even wider audiences!!!! Love his beautiful creative energy & loving spirit!! ❤❤❤❤
what a magical human. each performance he does heals the world even more than the last.
Jacob: Hey, I'm performing live at...
Me: Yes
what an important thing music is ❤🩹❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Only Tori Kelly is humble enough to be background like this. She’s the greatest singer in the world… period. Nobody comes close.
💯 FACT!!!!!!!
The moment she started singing, goosebumps appeared on my skin for real🙌🏾
That's an absurdist statement.
@@SSJBartSimpname one better. And no not musician, lyricist, composer, or anything else but singer/vocalist.
She’s not even top 25 lmfao
It's impossible to not like this guy!
Wow. Jacob has really done the unthinkable. He made the Jimmy Kimmel show watchable.
Yeah I saw this and I thought, "Wait, does anybody even watch Jimmy Kimmel?"
This song feels so good
Are you kidding me?!?!?!? Jacob Collier and Tori Kelly singing Witness Me!!!!!!!!!! I can't tell you HOW FAST I CLICKED THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!! JUST BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Jacob Collier and Tori Kelly are match made in heaven! ❤
3:11 Little Blue reference??? That modulation is so satisfying
I noticed some motifs from Little Blue in Mi Corazón too
Even the opening harmonies of this cover sound like the verse of Little Blue! Maybe it's the album motif...
same@@wilkesreid
Oooh I didn’t notice that “not so far away” figure on first listen.
Good ear
Love that! Was trying to get to sleep! Then that happened! Voice like maple syrup, energy like Mr motivator, choir out of a gospel church and flawless compliment. I'm up! I'm up!... its still dark dam it ..
He’s touring this year. Seeing him live was the best concert experience of my life.
That ending. Holy cow.
Wonderful! 😂 And not just Tori Kelly, but Alita Moses too. Gorgeous vocals and harmonies everyone. 👍👍
My week just got much better! 😀

I fucking love Mr. Collier god damn I do. He writes such majestic wonderful shit, love it.
This is this most vocal energy I have ever heard in my life :-O
The lyrics are emotionally resonant. Jacob masterfully weaves a tapestry of stark, vivid imagery and metaphor, employing a dynamic structure that alternates between plaintive appeals and a reassuring refrain to poignantly capture the profound depths of human despair and the transformative power of unwavering support and companionship, ultimately affirming the enduring hope and strength found in the simple yet profound act of witnessing and being truly seen in our darkest moments.
All of them were amazing, particularly Tori and Stevie!! Please more collabs with them!! I hope you record this on studio for the album!
Jacob is a wonderful pianist but his ability to orchestrate voices is trully amazing.A master in action
That Jacob Collier was a guest on the Jimmy Kimmel show is a testament to the quality of said show. More, please, more Jacob Collier on that show!
Can we just give love to the mix engineer on this. Utter perfection
Redefining music. Jacob Collier. Simple song, incredibly complex music.
Now that's LIVE!! No lip syncing. No bullshit. Perfectly executed high sophistication.
No autotune!
great as usual. Tori is still unbelievable!!!!.
There is a transcendent joy in Collier's music. You can tell by the musicians that the word "playing" is fully literal. They're having an absolute blast.
jacob is a wizard with the piano, arrangements, music, and then he pairs it with tori kelly, that's just not fair 😭
Me & my 2 year old keep returning to this masterpiece of song. What a briliiant interpretation. Thank you Jacob and his surroundings for all the love!
Looking forward to experiencing this and participating in Jacobs audience choir.
How wonderful! May the world may see how harmony, melody and juicy chords can bring a crippled nation together. Jacob is the 1 in 8 billion to take us there! ❤️
Benjamin Williams doing the Lord's work on bass. There's some insanely tasty work there during Tori's chorus.

Oh thanks, I was wondering who this was !!!
Thanks, as a bassist, he blew my mind and I wondered who he was
I found this track on the train this morning and it moved me massively. Have repeated it a dozen times already this morning. Jacob is a pure magician ❤
Everytime my heart starts feeling madly happy when I hear Jacob singing, always inclusively embracing other musicians anywhere anytime. Jacob, thankyou for the immense Gifts you are bringing to earth right now. 🎶❤️🎶🙏🏼
This is peak musicianship. Unbelievable harmonies. Perfect runs. Beautiful song and lyrics. Tasteful, jazzy passing chords. Haven’t even started on the sick bass and drums. Have to re-listen a few times.
I just spontaneously combusted into tears
JC‘s piano magic always remains my favorite ❤
This version is amazingly good... And wow, that bass player!😎💪
This is pure love we’re witnessing! 🙌🏼✨♥️
Any Jaime Cullum fans here notice the nod to his high and dry outro? I love that Jacob sources from everything. His influences are from every walk of music. This was just an absolutely glorious performance. They were basking in each other and the genuine emotion was palpable ❤
yes I noticed that. Lovely reference. Jacob also did All at Sea on his piano album last year. Somewhere on CZcams is the pair doing Crazy She Called Me on Jamie's radio show. Sublime!
Jacob is amazing! What a powerful voice! Keep doing that, the world needs it ❤
I already love this song but this performance, especially when Tori started to sing, gave me goosebumps! WOOOOOOOOOO, just phenomenal! Love you, Jacob!
This was beautiful Jacob and friends❤❤❤
Jacob (Collier) Your such an amazing inspiration, never stop being yourself :)
What a beautiful song. The bass player is great.
real musicians appreciate other musicians. it was fantastic to watch them both get lost in it
Outstanding vocals! Never would've anticipated that deep voice from Collier. First time hearing him. The addition or Tori and Stevie as well as the other singers harmonizing was brilliant.
Mr Collier, sir, you are nothing short of magical 🤧
Just listening and breathing along with these gorgeous singers and feeling these lyrics - lifts me up. Lifts us all up. Thank you, Jacob.
This is TOTAL MADNESS!! 💥 💥 💥
Imagine being a person who injects into the world nothing but joy and creativity. Jacob is such a person and I’m forever grateful to the alchemy that made him.
Blew them away! Off the charts. Tori just makes perfect. Love this song!
WHAT???? JACOB NO HAVE LIMITS!!! AMAZING!!!!! ALL BLESSED ! TORI K!
Wish this version was on Spotify too!
great performance everyone
I swear, every time I see this guy, I can't help but smile. Dude just brings such joy and wonder to everyone who watches him. Can't wait to see him in Toronto!
Just wanted to comment on how badass the bass player is! He may be in the far background but he is doing a phenomenal job!
Yes! Benjamin Williams, according to ChristianLoftusMusic above.
There's a little harmonic gift at 3:28. What I hear he goes to the Bbm (the minor 4th degree in F major), using it as a pivot chord to sort of modulate to Ab major, ending on Eb, giving this chromatic mediant sound. Anyone else have a different analysis?
@dustycooper For me Bbm11 to Ab to Eb is rather an ornamentation to go to Eb, which is the 7th flat degree leading to F major. It's a sort of V - IV - I of Eb major, that will lead in the end to the root of F major. You can hold the Eb on the 3 chords (11th of Bbm11, 5th of Ab, and Eb maj, and that emphasizes the feeling of Eb, leading later to F Major ;) That's how i hear it
I'm crying. Sooo beautiful ❤ pure music, pure love 🥹🥹🥹❤❤❤
I love this song and this version is amazing with those beautiful voices. Thanks Jacob 👏🥰❤️
Just beautiful Jacob - your an inspiration and have brought my whole heart back to music in all its magic 🪄 tingling all over - thank you for being you 💕

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! What a joy to witness this!
JC and those emotional mode changes on main stream television! Woot!
I saw Jacob live last year in Australia - was the most magical experience!! Alita Moses vocals' are severely underrated, she's flawless even live -- and Jacob of course always astounds 🤩hyped for djesse vol 4 🙌🏻
Totally agree about Alita. Saw here live with a different band in a jazz club in London, and she was phenomenal. I hope she gets the wider recognition she deserves one day.
Love the alligator - sorry CROC! - on the piano. It’s always there!
Love this version more.
Jacob is a legend. That is all.
