1995: i remastered this rare performance but the qualitiy is still not good
The 1975 clip is from the Soul Train perfromance but with the studio audio because somthing went wrong with my edit program so i can't use the live audio

I love how the song became more of a rock song throughout the early to mid 80s, then towards the end he just started to slow down
He seems to speed it up with each passing year. 1975 is the best. I mean Soul Train, come on.
He speeds it up until around 1986, then it goes slower again
i prefer the faster tempos and most of the 90s versions

Where did you find the 1986 clip? He dodges every high note in that clip
That would be because that’s the year were he developed these things on his voice box due to him abusing cigarettes which effected his vocal talent

2005 had one of the best phrasings arrangement and backup singers for that song
