this film has the most loveable cast
And hate-able in the places where they need to be hated.
@@duderyandude9515 Even the bad is acted and done with love. What a great movie - the positive energy of the cast and director just shines through! They must have had a blast making it!
armyyy😂💜
They got the guy from the good seasons of game of thrones.
yoongi’s flacko had yeah I love Taron and Richard
This scene is by far one of my favourites it’s so good how the transitions work
Same
YES!
Oh yeah it's just brilliant!
Barely Me all of the songs in this movie are great
Mmmm your pfp is spicy
Taron is way too talented! He deserves an oscar
Vrisney Tanueve Yeah, I watched it last night, and Taron definitely stood out as the best part
Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker
@@danielbautista3176 Think about it this way: Joaquin personifies a character destroyed by society, however Taron does too, with the pressure that he is a REAL one, a legend in life. He also SINGS, DANCES, makes great performances AND made half of the world cry, including me. I would say that Taron is the big deal of this awards season.
@Daniel Bautista first, you haven't even watched that movie to know how good or bad Phoenix's performance is so shut the fuck up.
Second, there's only one way and actor is *ever* going to get nominated (let alone winning) for a comic book movie, it didn't happen with Logan, even though everyone was saying that Jackman and Stewart deserved them. I'll say it will be morbid if it happens again for the same character but that seems... Unlikely.
Third, Egerton gave one of the best performances in years, I highly, highly doubt that Phoenix matches him, let alone tops him.
Daniel Bautista All Joker fan FUCK OFF Taron is real winner of an Oscar
I love the small details in the scene, like when Richard flirts with the waiter and Elton kinda shrugs it off

Comments I Guess He is amazing in this film. I know you’re supposed to hate him but I can’t bring myself to
1:06 You can see a man and a woman arguing and then storming off. They look a lot like Bernie and Heather. People are forgetting that he had his own story
Yes. That was Bernie's break up. I also loved the Watford reference here
Shit you right that is Bernie
I never realized that! Holy crap!
THATS SO CLEVER.
Yep lot of stuff was mentioned in the back witch kinda makes sense with Elotns mind set
I feel the same way about this extended scene as I did about Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting. The whole thing is epic but I'm glad they cut it down since it really slows down the pacing.
Yes!!! I love the extended version, but the cut version works better in the film
I agree! The dancing is a bit questionable too, kinda takes away from the main performance
@@charlotted1321 yeah!! It doesn't add up to the "Elton spending his money" meaning of the song in the film. If we're being completely honest here, the deleted part is a fan service 😂😂 we just want more Taron and Richard
I really wouldn’t be surprised if this leads to a broadway musical version with added sequences and possibly Elton meeting David in the end.
@@Zombeastsqurl oh the extended sequences for the numbers in this movie absolutely feel like musical stage play numbers. This one in particular reminds me of a show I worked where we had a dream scene with speed set changes. It would be a fun ass show to work
This scene perfectly represents the whole movie: Colorful, fast-paced, and seemingly happy while dark stuff happens all around and everything keeps going as its all fine
It totally does ... like a well placed mask that’s barely holding on
Veryneatguy - Probably describes Elton’s demeanor perfectly...
Love this
i actually watch this scene 6 times a day

If La La Land can win 6 oscars then this movie should bring home 2 at least
if there is any chance I can see it getting nominations for editing and actor at least
Lala land was crap compared to this! I really hope it can get recognized properly!
At a minimum, it should win the same as Bohemian Rhapsody, but it should be more, more nominations at least, it even has an original song!
@ally Think about it this way: Joaquin personifies a character destroyed by society, however Taron does too, with the pressure that he is a REAL one, a legend in life. hunter2199cr la la Land crap ?!?! I rly rly liked Rocketman. But La la Land is better in nearly every aspect. Director, Actor, Cinematography, Editing etc. etc. actually this caption summs it up Why La La Land is a damn masterpiece like literally a 10/10 reference level:

listening to richard's voice makes me mad that the live action cinderella wasn't a musical. both he and lily james can clearly sing, soooooooooo
yeah same, i always thought Cinderella is a musical, because lily James was in mamma Mia 2 and Richard in rocketman
CROSS omg I forgot he was in that!!!
Lily James did sing a song in Cinderella tho
I really appreciate his singing lol
that would have been so good, they would have belted the crap out of that movie if it was a musical
2:35 Taron looks so much like Elton here, oh my god
That's what I said
The CLASSIC face!
Oh, definitely! Thought the same!
Richard madden in that blue robe always has and always will be the death of me
Sierra Bedwell same sis 🤤🤤
For me it’s Taron in his Queen outfit
Honestly.
2:02 Taron's voice transformed into Elton's for a second.
Yeah! I noticed that, maybe it’s actually Elton there...
They probably tuned it down
Yeah I really noticed that. God I was loving it.
Molly H it’s not Taron said he sang the whole time.
Allie Cardinal I read up on it actually and I believe that it’s meant to represent the time in elton’s life when he had surgery which altered his vocals, which in turn gave him a deeper sounding voice.
Rocketman for the Oscars!
Yes
I betta be🎥😕😥
Only gets nominates in “best original song” for “im gonna love me again” :( i think Taron desserved a Nomination and the movie desserved too in “best picture” “best costume design”
Villachifa Show Taron totally deserves a nomination, and even a win - maybe Bo Rhap’s success has deprived Rocketman of it’s deserved Oscar success.
He got an award for this
This scene would be a perfect part of some onstage performance. It gives me kind of "Rocketman, the musical" vibes 😄
that's also what I think! THANK YOU
As well as the movie has done, and considering how much Elton has already contributed to Broadway, I think that's the natural next step!
@@lisamelroy2855 well hopefully we get elton's approval first :)
@@nesie.noodles6541 Lol - of course, since it's his story and all. I'm just saying that he isn't averse to creating music for Broadway, so this would be the next logical step! I can only imagine what that fever dream would look like!

Throughout the film, Taron is singing similarly to Elton but it’s not a carbon copy which is actually a good thing as it would’ve came across as a caricature rather than a three dimensional character. But at 2:03 his voice shifts to this deeper pitch that is almost indistinguishable from the real Elton’s singing voice, it gives me chills every time.
can't stop thinking about the man yeeting himself over the table at 1:28

If Richard Madden doesn’t play Sinatra at some point, what really is the point of anything?

No offense to either man, but no.........just no.
He doesn't sing well enough

The power Richard had in those white PANTS
We all know what an incredible singer Taron is but RICHARDS VOICE IS SO UNDERRATED WTF
Probably because Richard is not randomly breaking into songs on a daily basis 😁
He doesnt sing as much in this movie, i think this is the only time he sings
2:04 we can see john “flirting” or being close with another man while elton is distracted
THAT BITCH
"The Bitch is back"👀
it's a little thing, but I love the expressions. Taron really nailed the "lovestruck fool" look
I cant believe this movie wasn’t nominated for an Oscar
it was nominated...only it was for Original Song and not Best Actor like many were hoping.
maziebunny2 i knew it was nominated for best original song but i personally dont think it counts
@@sarahschoenberger99 I'm sorry you feel that way because as far as our family is concerned (especially with my annual musical salute to winners past) it does....despite the dry spell circa 2004 to 2007 where my predictions fell flat until Jai Ho brought me back in the groove.
@@sarahschoenberger99 One nomination in any category is all it takes. Fifty Shades of Gray, Norbit, and Suicide Squad (2017) are all Oscar nominated movies alongside Rocketman.
The full version is so cool
It's so Broadway
@@RoasterProductions which is probably why they cut it, it just seemed out of place in my opinion
Sleepy Toucan I preferred the movie version. This is cute though.
It’s silly and self-indulgent - so for me, it would have been a perfect fit! I really enjoyed that aspect of the film. :-D
Roaster Productions it’s very broadway, that might be why it wasn’t in the original but it sure is great on its own.
I feel like Richard Madden saying “What do you REALLY want” awakened something inside me
Absolute cinematic awesomeness, the charisma between Richard and Taron doesnt get old!
I also really love how Richard Madden subtly portrays the truly deceitful, indifferent, manipulative, and unfaithful nature of John Reid’s feelings in regards to Elton John in this scene.
Yes, Elton does kiss that one male waiter on the cheek, but that was more of a playful gesture of gratitude, rather than a legitimate act of flirtation. Not to mention, he was coked out of his mind at this point. On the other hand, you can subtly see John blatantly flirting with other men when Elton isn’t looking at him a few times. He snaps and points his fingers sideways at the waiter after he gives him a glass of some alcohol to drink in the opening verse of this song when Elton isn’t looking directly at him, as if to say “Thanks, hottie! Call me sometime!” When he and Elton are in the club partying, Elton’s getting high off coke in the main focus on screen, but in the periphery on the side of the screen you can vaguely see John Reid dancing closely with another man. Of course, it doesn’t always automatically mean someone is cheating on their partner if they dance with someone else. It can be a perfectly innocent thing between family members, two friends, partners paired up together in a dance class or play. However, within the context of this scene, it’s clear that John Reid is flirting with that other man at the bar by approaching him to dance. John approaches the man to dance at the club first when Elton is getting coked up out of his mind. A truly faithful and loving relatively sober partner in Reid’s shoes with Elton in that club scene would be focusing all their attention on their obviously unwell s/o in a situation in which they were getting very high off incredibly dangerous illegal drugs. Instead, Reid is blowing Elton off when he’s destroying his health, so he can go and dance and flirt with another random man at the club.
@@Schoolgirl325Pienso lo mismo! Me encantó tu análisis de Reid, en verdad no había notado algunas cosas a pesar de ser muy fan. Saludos, y me gustó tu comentario! 💗💗💗

If this film doesn’t get some sort of award for its cinematography, I am going to be so pissed off!
The only bad parts in the effects and look of the movie were the rocket special effect on Taron in the rocketman scene and whatever aging effect they had on the woman who played his mom. That’s it. The rest of the movie looks absolutely amazing!! Give it an oscar!!!

This scene shows how Elton became addicted to alcohol, drugs, and shopping/buying many things.
Really? Oh thanks
I'm never get tired of watch this scene. Pure gold
One of the best scenes of the film - cover is great and the scene is so well shot, I'd take this over Bohemian Rhapsody I think
I would say Rocket Man and Bohemian Rhapsody are Equally great.
@@micaylab1 Rocketman is better in every way! So much more creative, rather than the bland, cookie cutter movie that BR was.
You don’t need to make one movie look bad so the other looks better
@@acab9120 Very true. For me Bohemian Rhapsody's great with comedy and character interactions among the 4 band members while Rocketman nails the cinematography and covers to the point it feels like a high production Broadway Musical. I love both
well I don't take Bohemian Rhapsody over with this film but I like them with Rami who plays Freddie in it and for Rocket man I like Taron who plays Elton in it Bohemian Rhapsody is based on Rocket man and for Rocket man was made from Bohemian Rhapsody because they are true films about Freddie Mercury and Elton john and for Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocket man film are telling us the Story and facts about them in real life
I love the staging of this scene so much, it feels like a stage musical! Very cleverly done, you can see a lot of work went into it.
I don't remember seeing that second half though, when they go inside the doll house! I think it was cut from the version of the movie that I saw.
Taron was robbed at the Oscars. He absolutely gave a stellar performance, much more varied and interesting than the year before Rani who play Mercury, Something was out of place
