Elton John - Bennie And The Jets (Official Music Video)
/ eltonjohn - Hudba
Shout out to all the real music lovers who came here after Kendrick Lamar dropped his song, and just needed to hear the original ❤.
Let's not forget this great song was also sampled by Mary J Blige on her 1999 self tiltle album " Mary" song called " Deep inside"
That's why I'm here 😂😂. I'm like this sounds like the Piano Man himself!

@@Galacticator which song?
I don't know why, but I think this song should be played in Guardians of the galaxy
David Marin OMG DEFINITELY
probably because guardians of the galaxy takes place in a futuristic sci fi universe with music set in the 70s hence the perfect song.
ne ne ne ne nebula and the jets :3
Would've be hilarious seeing them singing this threw hyper speed. But it would fit i totally agree
Awesome Mix Vol.3
I’m sure I’m not the only one that has to play this song a couple of times in a row. It’s timeless. A masterpiece.
I’ll never get sick of this song
There’s something magical about it
It’s the “fake live” aspect maybe

The spotlight's hitting something
That's been known to change the weather
We'll kill the fatted calf tonight
So stick around
You're gonna hear electric music
Solid walls of sound
Say, Candy and Ronnie, have you seen them yet
But they're so spaced out, Bennie and the Jets
Oh but they're weird and they're wonderful
Oh Bennie she's really keen
She's got electric boots a mohair suit
You know I read it in a magazine
Bennie and the Jets
Hey kids, plug into the faithless
Maybe they're blinded
But Bennie makes them ageless
We shall survive, let us take ourselves along
Where we fight our parents out in the streets
To find who's right and who's wrong
Oh, Candy and Ronnie, have you seen them yet
But they're so spaced out, Bennie and the Jets

I love that my 24 year old son crawled out of his room to ask what that song id been playing was. He was truly stunned it was Elton John.
I’m a62 year old black woman and I’ve always listened to Sir Elton John ❤❤
For me, I've always imagined the video would be about an imaginary rock band in the distant future. However, the cinematography is wonderfully done.
DuhAverageJoe exactly
DuhAverageJoe honestly, if you look, I think that's kind of what it is. they're all auditioning to be Bennie's backup dancers. true Bennie never really seems to sing or dance much herself, but there's definitely something magnetic about her...
John Hollander I suppose that's one way of looking at it. I guess I was looking for something more obvious lol.
DuhAverageJoenword
dude i remember that, mandela affect i think
This is a perfect example of how love should be. Despite Bennie being a sci-fi rock goddess, the admiration is mutual. Jet is the only one who doesn't try to please, but performs honestly
Honestly, I'd say this is backwards. She's the only one who defers to Bennie. The others all try to take center stage. She puts on a good show for the audience, but also repeatedly looks to Bennie in deferment.
Regardless, it's a fascinating tension
// even with this weirdly anthropological interpretation of the text
I like the little catwalk move at the end in the circle. Very cute.
I think about this comment alot

This was my dad favorite song, RIP Dad
You guys should give Elton love while he's still with us.. You the man Reginald.
I like the song 2
When he dies is when everyone wants to honor him and give him attention
I've got tickets to see Elton in November. Just six hours after the tickets were starting to be sold, they were almost sold out! I'm lucky I got one. So, yeah, nobody pays attention to Elton anymore...
Jr Garcia Agreed!! Don't take him for granted for one second!!
And Jr Garcia you should apologize because if you ever read the biography on Elton, he absolutely despises
the name Reginald and after his official legal name change would ignore or correct those who called him Reginald.
Elton Hercules John. If you ever would meet him, call him Reginald. That should go well.
The energy of that song is totally me. Totally weird, a lot of confusion, something crazy. But it's also a masterpiece, something misunderstood, a lot of excess but so incredibly genius. This song makes me feel powerful and glorious. It makes me feel like Bennie and the Jets
This song makes the air I breath taste and feel like the 70s...win, win situation hearing this song ...and it's my perogative if I wanna listen to it 20 times in a row..😂
Yeah! It’s weird. I love that.😅
Elton performed this song when he appeared on The Muppet Show in 1977, with a group of Muppets singing along with him at the piano. Elton's outlandish costumes were a running joke during the episode, and at one point Sam The Eagle was coerced into dressing like Elton.
1:34 best part, idk why. The melody and chords are just switched up and I just love it

The way he sings “magazine” is amazing

That's my favorite part
3:20 - I am seriously impressed with the dancer’s flexibility, balance, and strength!
Also, did anyone else think this contest was rigged so Jet would win?
How?
Literally any dancer should be able to perform that 😂
Tim S some people don’t understand sarcasm
I can’t understand the video but it’s cool
I honestly felt the guy with really big hair was better than jet
Nearly 23yrs ago, I named my son Ben. What silliness that was, he will always be Benny to me.
This is ART.
This video, while weird, is absolutely brilliant.
Elton once described Bennie as a "sci-fi rock goddess", which doesn't really tell you much. This video, however, features multiple versions of Bennie. But, Elton being gay, every Bennie here fits what Elton is attracted to. Each Bennie is a different idea of a sci-fi rock god.
The video may be odd and strange, but the history behind it turns it into a genius work of art.
Strionic Exactly. It's so weird and so wonderful.
The different people are auditioning to be the Jets. The woman in the African headdress is Bennie.
Jet (and the other seven) are auditioning to be Bennies backing band.
Wait, he's gay?
Them be Rocket fuel
I don't pretend to know much about dancing, but this is some of the coolest dancing I've seen

Why do I cry when I hear this song. 50 years old and still my favorite song. I remember hearing this song in 3rd grade. I was mesmerized.
The 70's were hands down the best decade for music in the last century. Let's just start with Elton John. And then the list just keeps on going.
I dont know about "Hands down" I would give it a tie with the '60s, which had the Beatles and the Stones, Motown, Beach Boys, The Who and much much more
Queen!
60s, the 70s had Love will keep us together. That definitely bumps it down lol
70s music is good.Car made in 70s were crap because the emission, gas crisis and cheaper car
60s, 70s and the 90s too Id say. The 80s were a comparable lull

Only Our queen Elton could come up with this
Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics. He told Elton that he was shy and never wanted to be in the spot light. He never was.
Elton came on to Bernie once and Bernie told him that he loved him, just not 'like that'.
Other than that, thumbs up.
