- I walkthrough all the steps I went through on my 1979 Lincoln Continental to replace the factory nylon toothed timing set with a double roller, all metal timing set. I did this to avoid future problems with disintegrating nylon teeth getting into my oil.
I just want to clarify my mistake, the cam bolt should be tightened to 40 ft/lbs. 80 ft/lbs is too much!
Where did you get your torque specs I have torque at 76 lbs on mine
Never diagnose a cold engine. Full operating temperature is best. Nice work.
Just curious, why did you leave all of the air pump and smog stuff on that car? All I’ve ever seen are videos of people taking it off.
Robert Mills Just for originality for car shows and such and since at least for now, it's not causing me any issues. In the future if it does, I can just cut the belt on the air pump.
Gotcha. Thanks. Please post more and more on how to videos for your Lincoln. I have a 1979 Continental as well, and it’s not in near as good of shape as yours. I am having to fix things as I go. Your videos are very helpful! Thanks!
