I always love it when Utube mechanics rebuild a vintage car like the 1963 Cadillac you have~!~!

That water pump , save it for a conversation piece . After all its probably twice your age . I have a burnt valve that I kept from a "project" . It looks like some one took a cutting torch to it. Those booster cables belong in a museum .😁 The caddy is looking mint .

You do know if later down the road the grade 8 hardware seizes in they to can snap but only this time it will be harder to drill out.... Another thing is you can use a product that is used for plumbing to seal pipe threads it's called megaloc it's sold at Lowe's or home depot always get the solvent based one it is used on threaded hydraulic parts and plumbing where easy removal later on is desired and seals very well....just some free advice.

I highly doubt they used grade 8 water pump bolts from the factory, also the water pump shouldn’t need any threadlocker, especially after the shitstorm you were just in

Mr. HevyChevy had to put ford (lower case intentional 🙂) injectors in his Trans Am, so putting a MoPar bolt in the Cadillac is not a total affront. It'll be okay.

Honestly, I just grabbed whatever’s on the shelf at the local parts store. Generally it’s a gray bottle though. unfortunately, the car is in storage right now so I can’t go look in the trunk. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

Wow, Brian I really applaud what you're doing with the Cadillac. Such a beautiful old girl just as she is. Your five hour road trip is going to be the most comfortable, and classy looking car on the road. At some point I'd recommend you put a set of dual exhaust on her, no cherry bombs, but something that will let her breath easier, and let people hear a true American V8. Keep up the good work.

i can see the way this old baby sit's .. that the suspension , and steering parts seen it's better day's .. wouldn't hurt to replace those before a road trip, reminds me of a friend who rebuilt a 65 Mustang with 250,000 miles on it interior is all new , all ne panels on the exterior , but? failed to replace all the suspension parts , and wonders why it handles like a sick Caddy from 1959 ... don't be that guy ! :)
