    One is not BORN Mandalorian.
    One BECOMES Mandalorian through trials known as Verd'goten. Coming of Age. A child born to a Mando family, is not a Mando'ad until he passes the trials.
    To be a Mandalorian, one must abide by Resol'nare. The six tenets that define a mandalorian and sets him apart an outsider.
    1. Wear the armor.
    2. Speak the language.
    3. Contribute to clan's welfare.
    4. Always be ready to defend yourself and the clan.
    5. Raise your children as Mandalorians.
    6. Always rally to Mand'alor's call.
    If one follows these six rules, and has passed the verd'goten, one is a mandalorian.
    Jango Fett was a Mandalorian, and by the time Samuel Fuckin' Jackson beheads him on Geonosis, he was MAND'ALOR, the leader of the mandalorian people.
    Boba... is another story. He didn't speak much of Mando'a. He didn't care about the clan, or even his blood family. He never rallied to Mand'alor's call. He did not even wear Beskar'gam. Until later years when he finally returned to the people and became Mand'alr himself.
    *Rants in Mando'a*

      Jango Fett bio said he claimed to be from "Concord Dawn" not born. witch could mean Jango lied throw his teeth about wear he was from, and that he truly did steal the Mandaorian armor. because if Jango Fett was a Mandaorian he would have had clan markings on his armor. the lack of clan markings on Jango armor points to him not being a true Mandaorian and just pretender.
      but maybe boba Fett did some thing that impressed a Mandaorian and offered to make him a member of there clan and he took it.

    I never cared much for the Mandalorians, but the most significant change to their culture in canon has be that they are reduced to being from a single species. I always thought that it made them very unique that they accepted everyone who practiced their beliefs regardless of species. That is probably the one thing the canon changed that I dislike the most

    • @spookhyskeleton
      @spookhyskeleton Před 6 lety +26

      Huh... What do you mean *changed in canon?* That was already established back in Legends.
      The KoTOR games, for example, (which are Legends now, and date before Disney's takeover or even The Clone Wars), make it pretty clear that the Mandalorians are a single species. Interviews reveal that the writing team behind the game based that, and a larger part of the species' lore off the comics.
      So, yeah. Pretty much ever since Mandalorians became a significant part of the lore, they were classified as a single species.

    • @imperialistopinions2276
      @imperialistopinions2276 Před 6 lety +16

      Hy There are sources beyond KOTOR and the comics the writing team based their take on the Mandalorians on that make it pretty clear that the Mandalorians accepted other species as members of their culture. This quote from the Imperial Commando books, for example "We have no species or bloodline-so we can rebuild our ranks with others who want to join us." The origin of the entire Mandalorian culture in Legends goes back to the Taung, an alien species. So while humans may have been the most prevalent species in their ranks, the Mandalorians were not a single species.

    • @iagoregiani3244
      @iagoregiani3244 Před 6 lety +7

      Man, I remember reading in Travis books a bit about that. In one passage, was described that what defines a Mandolarian it is the way of life. An alien could be considered a Mando'a if he accepted and incorporated the way of life. Sadly, that's no longer canon.

We can live without technology so we can fight with our bare hands. We have no species or bloodline so we can rebuild our ranks with others who want to join us. We're more than just a people or an army, aruetii. We're a culture. We're an idea. And you can't kill ideas but we certainly can kill you."

    5th. Jango Fett was Mandalore when he was alive, at least that's what the comics/Legends say, right? Boba Fett is just a clone, but still he's a clone that wasn't tempered with, (original copy). This means he (had/has) Mandalorian blood running through his veins, besides Jango passed down his knowledge, combat skills and culture, if I'm not mistaking. So if you ask me both Jango and Boba are Mandalorians, it's just that they weren't that active in the houses/clans and didn't want to be associated with them. Jango had lost all hope in his people, because of all the conflict. Boba simply didn't care/didn't want to remember the past. Besides he probably didn't want any trouble with the Empire and thought it was better to be a bounty hunter, just like his father/clone template once was.

    • @Freddy_Fazerbear
      @Freddy_Fazerbear Před 6 lety +3

      Lockjaw Weird... From what I've heard Jango Fett was a Mandalorian from birth, but had his parents killed during the civil war. Then he was adopted by the former Mandalorian leader, or something like that, that made him a warrior. Then he later became Mandalore and killed the leader of Death Watch, before leaving his people to pursuit a career as a bounty hunter.

    • @CassDaMan1138
      @CassDaMan1138 Před 6 lety +5

      Okay you are both are close but let me explain. Jango was born to the Fett Family on Concord Dawn. At that point in time the Fett Family had either diminished from the Cassus Fett Era and just a common name like Smith or Jango's Father hung up his armor to live a simple life on the frontier world. Jango's father was a simple farmer who helped Jaster Mereel avoid capture from the Death Watch when the Mando Civil War came to Concord Dawn. Tor Viszla, leader of Death Watch followed Jango home after a confrontation and interrogated Jango's Father for Jaster's whereabouts. When Jango's dad didn't talk, Viszla was going to execute them all when Jango escaped and ran into Jaster and the True Mandalorians who were hiding in the fields. With his family dead, Jaster took Jango under his wing and raised him to be a True Mandalorian. So initially Jango is not so much a Mandalorian by birth. He was an adoptee.
      Also being a Mandalorian in the Old Canon is not Genetic at least not the way it was back in the Old Republic, no more than being a Viking is genetic to being Scandinavian, like if your Scandinavian your automatically Viking, when no it was a job and lifestyle. It's a cultural/occupational/faction/lifestyle, by the Rise of the Empire Era at least in the old canon. You have to follow the resol'nare to be considered a Mandalorian or you would be claimed dar'manda or no soul. So Boba/nor the Clones for that matter are not Mandalorian by way of genetics, he or they would have to pick up the culture like a lot of Republic Commandos and ARC Troopers did, which Boba didn't until he met his grand daughter Mirta Gev. Up until then he mostly wore the armor out of respect for his father and it was iconic and great armor for bounty hunting. The only way Jango could be Genetically Mandalorian is he was 1/8th Taung or something.
      Now in the Disney Canon/TCW Canon The Mandalorians seen there are genetically humans from that planet as they all seem to share common traits like blond/Brown/grey hair and tan/fair skin. Personally, I hate this idea.
      And on the topic of what's Canon and what's not. The Mandalorian Civil War is surprisingly Canon with the Disney Canon, but it is doubtful if it unfolded like it did in "Open Seasons." It's Canon because the New Mandalorian Government rose from the power vacuum left by the other factions wiping each other out. Satine's backstory with Obi Wan involved Qui gon Jin and Obi Wan protecting her family during a Civil War in Mandalorian Space. So it happened. No I'm not pulling that out of my ass, It's called Research and watching the vlogs the TCW Staff come out with also channels like these are helpful. Back on topic, Concord Dawn is still Canon.Also Concord Dawn is one of tributary planets in Mandalorian Space. It is not Concordia from TCW, as Concord Dawn exists as a separate planet as it is the homeworld of Rako Hardeen, the Bounty Hunter that Obi Wan Masquerades as and it also shows up in Rebels in the Episode Protectors.

    • @shooter4600
      @shooter4600 Před 6 lety +2

      Death Trooper Thank you, you explain it beautifully and yes the civil war did happen. I'd like to see it as (since it hasn't been explained really) the civil war unfolded like it did in legends but, when Jaster Mereel's Mandalorians were all wiped out that's when the vote for peace arouse. After that the mandalorians followed that way of peace and forgot the culture. Hence why you no longer see any other races with them, they secluded themselves on their neutral planet with views of peace which led them away from their rich culture. I like to believe that they're are still Mandalorians who aren't Pacifists or Death Watch out there like the Mandalorians of the Cuy'val Dar and those who didn't participate in the Civil War. Extremely hard to believe that a rich culture such as the Mandalorians had would fade so quickly.

      @mitwhitgaming7722 Před 6 lety +26

      Lockjaw You clearly don't understand how canon works. Its not about if Disney made it or not, it is about what is considered an official part of the story that they may use in another story down the line. Disney didn't make any of the original Saga, and it is still canon.

    • @CassDaMan1138
      @CassDaMan1138 Před 6 lety +17

      Lockjaw bruh TCW 2008 is still canon with Disney Canon. Cartoon Network still owns the Television royalties/rights for TCW, but Lucasfilms still owns the content and characters. Lucasfilms is own by Disney. It got grandfathered over by the very facts that Rebels brought over a ton of lore from TCW. TCW, Darth Maul Son of Dathomir, Dark Disciple, and the unaired unfinished animations for the 7th season are the only bit of the EU to initially survive the Canon Purge.
      Now if your being stubborn and just saying la la la la I can't hear you your wrong, I actually can agree with you especially with the hate I have for the Canon version of Mandos. I miss the old version better.

Since he is so young he didn't realize that such a important leader being eliminated had placed a political scandal between not only the two clans but all of Mandalorian culture. He was labeled dishonered and exiled out of Mandalorian society. Since he had such a talent for combat, hunting, and obviously assassination, bounty hunting became his new calling. I think that Almec dismissed Jango as a mandlaorian because he didn't like how Jango was one of those who embraced the warrior of Mandalore. His combat skills certainly resemble that of a true Mandalorian.

    I think George Lucas said once that Boba Fett was not mandalorian but we all know Lucas tends to change his own canon when it suits him. I like to think that Fett was a mandalorian clan that fell into disfavor and as a result broke some cardinal rule causing the rest of the clans to disown them.

    We haven't seen much of Mandalor in movie canon. I would like to see it as a place we visit in the Obi Wan movie. He has history there, we know there has been a civil war going on and the empire has an interest in the planet. I would nice to see a story arc for OBWK around Mandalor to wrap up a very convoluted history. You could throw in the "dark saber" which OBWK could be sent to retrieve, leaving his vigil on Tattooine after a plea from an old friend (Bo Katan?) to prevent another system wide disaster. You could weave elements of "Rebels" into the plot. OBWK asks another old friend (Organa) to send someone to fill in for a bit (Chopper and Zeb). OBWK could retrieve the sword but through some dramatic and/or romantic tension decided that by the very nature of the weapon it is too dangerous for it to remain in the hands of a impulsive peoples and destroy/hides the sword for ever more.

    Jango Fett is Mandalorian but was disavowed by the New Mandalorians seeing as they didn't want to associate with his Bounty Hunter ways as he gained a lot of notoriety in the galaxy. Hey @star wars explained from my POV the first 2 episodes of SW rebels season 4 will certainly mean mandalore vs mandalore vs empire. Plus from trailer the guys that get electrocuted by a weapon is probably the weapon sabine designed and made her turn sides. So by the end of the episodes we can expect mandalore to fall because of the empire, as they were already under lockdown said by KJ in trailer...
