Just bought one of these as a housewarming present. From reading older vs newer reviews, it appears to be the newer Vestel model, which comes with black trays, instead of the wire racks that came with older models. The recipient is now complaining of it making an awful vibrating noise on microwave mode. He hasn't mentioned other modes, though he's only had it a day. A review on Amazon says, "...these have a reputation of being noisy on microwave - the noise I found was the amount of vibration from the case which is a design fault. Undoing the case screws and adjusting the case has cured the problem to some extent and it is now much quieter." So, I've suggested this to him. He was trying to replicate the fault on webcam but I couldn't really hear it! I've asked him to send a video clip.
That’s interesting, I’ve got one of the newer models with the black trays, The only difference is that the older models have clock functions and the newer ones don’t. This one doesn’t vibrate as much but I have heard that they do vibrate as soon as you turn it on.
I've had two of these. I'm single and this device has done all my heating up for me i.e. I can't say I've actually cooked with it, but I've used the microwave and fan oven functions extensively. I guess I've had my money's worth out of both of them, they've lasted a long time. Over the weekend I cleaned the oven with an oven aerosol spray only to find one of the two heating elements has broken. That may have been due to the spray making contact with a warm heating element and cracking it (each element is a wound coil within a ceramic tube). The elements do all of the heating for fan oven and grill and I've always thought they must take some pounding. My main gripes are the oven light bulb doesn't last long and the three-legged design of the two supplied wire cooking platforms are unstable and as such very dangerous.
My light bulbs just gone after 16 years (Model R958) everything else still going strong. I won't be using an oven aerosol to clean it, thanks for the tip.

Can you use food in those foil trays in there as a microwave?
