Rem's confession of her love and loyalty to Subaru had me choking in tears. Raphtalia is second best girl (sorry not sorry hehe)

ZIbusiso Nkomo Yep, Iâm with you there. Rem definitely beats Raphtalia with a decent lead, along with kind of a similar scenario. The main character broken before them, the girl saying heartfelt words, guy not believing in their words, the girl solidifying their beliefs/feelings, wholesome moment.
They found each other in the lowest moments of their lives, and at the end they saved each other from the darkness.
The emotional pileup of the moment was perfectly executed and animated.
Especially the later realization that he can now taste food again.
I felt the lack of a bgm.
If the ending song was put in there, the scene would be much more emotional

You do realize that in the original LN, the only reason he purchased Raph was so he could more easily fantasize about having Malty as his slave.
I love the way this scene is carried out. In the beginning you see her the way Naofumi sees her, a kid. As she calms his heart and he opens his eyes, he finally sees her as an adult. Goes to show when you are blinded by hatred and sadness, you don't see how beautiful it is around you.

she literally explains that the physical appearance of a demi human is dependant on age later in the ep. she looks older because of her level. there's no hidden meaning behind it
ive also read the light novels he straight up could NOT see raphtalia as anything other than a child. That scene in this little clip was the first time he actually saw HER.

Seriously wonder how dense the spear guy is when after seeing this emotional exchange he still buys the "the shield hero has brainwashed them" story later on.....like seriously dude does she look freaking brainwashed when he literally cried in her arms?!?! But on this scene, it is fucking brilliant seeing a man brought to the edge of despair having lost all trust or belief in everything after having been betrayed by everyone in this world including his fellow heroes and then seeing the last thread of hope be destroyed (the slave brand) thinking that she would leave him like everyone else...and then seeing him weep at the fact she never was or will leave him and that is how you make a realistic character, a true hero in every god damn sense of the word.
The thing that's stupid is that Ren makes a comment about 'how can you say that after seeing this?' implying the pure connection the 2 have, but then still treats Naofumi like a leper after it. Him and Itsuki literally see Myne cheating in the duel, all the questionable shenanigans of the king/princess and STILL don't even give Naofumi the ability to explain himself.
@@davidrosensin7985 Pretty much all the heroes except Naofumi are wastes of oxygen. Even the Queen acknowledges it when Naofumi calls them dead weight.

The other heroes are basically a bunch of losers playing superhero with console commands and quoting Spiderman without actually realizing that their actions have consequences.

I love Raphtalia. Because, like Naofumi, she suffers an evolution from being a helpless girl, she does not know how to defend herself to be a true warrior. I really love Raphtalia, a tender, sweet, honest and at the same time very independent character ... a perfect female character, also for her fidelity. Because of what is true for his partner. No matter what the rest of the world says, she trusts in Him knows that she is right regardless of whether the world is against you. This Fidelity that makes this character very special. đđđ â€ïž

Except he isnât in a place where he can even consider that right now. Just breaking through to him as far as she did in this scene is like moving a mountain. They have to grow in this form of relationship for a while before heâll even be ready to consider that next step.

This is a legitimately beautiful moment that speaks to the aspect of people enduring trauma and finding how healing a legitimately loving interpersonal relationship (or any variety) can be. Raphtalia is legitimately the kindest and most sincere character I have seen in years, and Iâm so glad they wrote her as well as they did. Naofimi Iwatani is a natural and morally honest kind of character that responds as anyone likely would in his shoes. Seeing the series progress as it has has been an absolute pleasure, and I dare say it is my favourite anime so far. I need to read the manga...

Actually, anime access for hispanic countries is very difficult. Too much dependant on illegal pages because Crunchyroll has far fewer licenses for anime than other countries.

Rapthalia, the kind of woman every man needs (but not all deserve). She's beautiful, yet strong. She's emotional, yet a pillar to lean on. She needs Naofumi just as much as he needs her. She truly is a best girl. And most importantly of all (from a story and character point of view), she's not a fucking Mary Sue that has no story behind her development and strength.

But at the same time men have their own side of creating so many mynes in the world. just like in this anime Raphtalia's look like a ton of work but the pay off is pretty grand. Mynes dont look like they will be that much work but cost you dearly in the end. More often then not we never see them. Just another face in the crowd.

Raphtalia is one of the examples and definitions of true love. Even in naofumi's worst state she never left him. Those two really deserve each other and i hope they end up together as a married couple. It is very rare to find a woman of raphtalia behavior in this scene in real life.

What makes this scene better for me is that Naofumi kinda acts like a human. He is not an overpowered edge lord.He honesty deserves her, unlike other isekai protagonists

This right here is the moment that sold me on this anime. Every episode prior had me legitimately fuming with anger at Naofumi's situation, and I was seriously close to dropping it, but this right here, this gorgeously well scene, convinced me to see it through, and I'm so glad I did. Shield Hero is my #1 favorite anime now, and Raphtalia, my favorite character in all of fiction.

He's been miss treat by building Anger, Madness and Range Hate all around him and here comes this faunus girl thanking him for taking care of here and the only one person that trust. after this episode I fell in love with Rising of the Shield Hero.

I love stories like this. One line in one of my stories i written was similar to this scene when my character was face to face with god.

In Catholicism we have a thing called "seed of the verb", it means that everywhere are small pieces of the revelation waiting to be discovered, you just have to learn how to recognize them and separate them from what does not matter. Also every type of love represents a small part of a whole which is the love between God and our souls so the love between man and woman, father and child, mother and child, friends and so on all hint towards this huge and inexplicable love... And, man, I've seen so many of those seeds in the relationship between Naofumi and Raphtalia, it was just amazing.

Yup, Malty is literally the anti-Raphtalia. This episode and the next solidify that. She's a rare example of the main character's archenemy serving as the evil counterpart to his love interest instead of the main character himself.

You know, it somehow feels sadder when you think that, maybe nobody really believed in him in the other world either. If I remember right he did lead a rather comfortable life before being summoned but nobody actually really believed in him, or at least that he would amount to anything at all. He then comes to this world and that happened...but after so much, now someone does, someone actually has faith in him :3
1:16 at this moment, one life ends but he survives. Reborn as something stronger! She's the kind of woman i need. But unfortunately it'll be a miracle if i get ANY woman. The world won't give you something just because you need it.
Edit: Good lord, I cry just like Naofumi does. Silent, yet meaningful. We aren't the crying type, but when we do...it means that much more.

This whole scene between the two of them reminded me of when Kathrine Proudmoore saved Jaina from Thros. And it's so touching how Raphtalia ended up as the light to guide him out of the darkness.
The moment where Raphtalia become my favorite waifu ever and that made me love this anime.
