      I can tell you that the story about Sophie Scholl is true. Many, many schools in Germany are named after her and her brother Hans Scholl.
      In around 1942 Sophie started studying at uni in Munich where her brother Hans was already studying. He was friends with Alexander Schmorell and Professor Kurt Huber. Along with a many other people he created the group "Weiße Rose" (White Rose). They were anti-Hitler, anti-Nazis and pro freedom and peace. In total they wrote 6 articles which they secretly distributed around towns. On the 18th of February 1943 Hans and Sophie Scholl where leaving small piles of the articles in their uni halls when the care taker saw and reported them. They were executed on the 22nd of February 1943 along with their friend and helper Christoph Probst who was married and had two little kids. Hans last words were: "Es lebe die Freiheit! " (May liberty live!)
      Kurt Huber, Alexander Schmorell and Willi Graf were imprisoned on the 19th of April 1943. Kurt Huber and Alexander Schmorell were executed on the 13th of July 1943 and Willi Graf on the 12th of October 1943. Many others were imprisoned and sentenced to anywhere between a few months to multiple years or a decade in prison.
      Sorry, it's a bit long, I tried to keep it as short as possible. There's way more you can read about it if it interests you!

We can't be all heroes like most of these people but there's always somebody who needs your help. That story about the woman whose husband was killed by Nazis and then who killed them with a tank - that beats any revenge story an author/screenwriter could ever write. It totally deserves a movie!

    • @misssunnydee
      @misssunnydee Pƙed 3 lety +4

      @@proudtobeanerd5340 Definitely one of my favourites too! I liked the story of the Dutch girls wooing German soldiers into the woods to shoot them too, particularly because 1. It's true and 2. The middle girl in the picture, Hannie Schaft, has streets named after her in my country, one even in walking distance. She's the more famous of the 3 (Truus, Hannie, Freddie - T & F being sisters) because a mere 3 weeks before the end of the war she was caught, tortured and executed by the Nazi's. Awesome last words too, after the 1st 'execution shot' only wounded and not killed her: "I'm a much better shot."
      The 3 Dutch girls were, btw, being majorly underrated in this clip. They were part of the North- Holland resistance, falsified papers for Jews and hid many of them, wrote and printed newspapers with information about soldier movement and other things about the nazi's on top of their seduction, vie info & shoot routine. Truus and Freddie lived to be both 92yo
      If anyone is interested, Sophie Poldermans wrote a book in English called: Seducing and Killing Nazi's - Hannie, Truus, and Freddie: Dutch resistance heroines of WWII.

      There were a few about luring soldiers to their death. Or taking bloody revenge of some sort. Is this heroism? Again up to the viewer to decide.
