This is basically how really abstract artstyles work. Some people think drawing shit like anime is easy when there's actually a whole lot of irl anatomy, perspective, proportions, and shading that has to be understood to make something look so simple, but also so pleasing to the eye and not like a high-school drawing. "Simple" stuff can be harder than the complicated stuff.
yeah, i tried to draw jn the style of made in abyss and it was basically impossible, even though it looked so simple. i had to spend two years learning anatomy and perspective before i could draw stylised art confidently
