(Rebecca is not much better herself, both of them have huge issues that needed to be worked out before they could form a good relationship! )

I have too many album recommendations to list them here... But if you only listen to ONE, I recommend "Ella Sings Gershwin" (1950), which features - you guessed it - Ella Fitzgerald singing the music of the Gershwins, in intimate piano + vocal style.
Interesting thing I picked up, obviously this song is a tribute to Astaire and Rogers, but Rogers was actually a far more skilled dancer than Astaire.
She had to perform the entire routine, backwards in heels, while he may have been ‘leading’ the dance, she was leading the show. That makes perfect sense when you consider that in this song it’s Rachel who has to pick whether she wants to pursue Josh or Greg

Greg actually helped me realize how badly I was doing. I used to act a lot like him and seeing how much everyone disliked him and how sad and bitter he was, I realised that I really need to change.

Greg is obviously too well-balanced for her, and his self-loathing will only be increased by her inability to hold a normal relationship. Josh, on the other hand, is laid-back enough to deal with her neuroses and mood swings, and somehow continues to see the best in her. (Besides, he deserves better than Valencia.) I think Greg should have a much less . . . messed up girlfriend.
TL;DR I love all the characters in this show, but Greg deserves better than Rebecca and Josh is an oddly good fit for her.
+silvertamagachi Josh is a bit of a douche with no future, I mean he's (almost)two-timing his girlfriend because he can't bring himself to communicate his feelings honestly, he has no intelectual or work-related ambitions, he's very dependant on other people, and on the plus side he's cute... hot, cool, laid-back and well intentioned. He has all the virtues of a good friend but lacks some that are very important to be a good partner. I don't think he and Rebecca should be together and it shines through in "Josh and I are good people" along with the fact that he does NOT WANT to be with her.
Greg deserves better? YES, is Rebecca becoming a better person? YES. But (and I already said this to someone in other video)she shouldn't be anyone's crazy girlfriend for now, she should become her own *sane* person.

But unfortunately, it's the central theme of this show, that Rebecca being someone's crazy ex-girlfriend due to her mental difficulties and childhood troublesome development. I think this show is doing an important work in portraying how people with mental illnesses are struggling to cope with the world and how they are stuck between wanting to be happy and having to deal with their difficulties. So, Rebecca should improve but in a realistic pace. And since social support is one way of improving from mental illness, I think it's important that Rebecca gets it from someone like Greg since her mother is a bitchy no-gooder. She shouldn't get it from Paula though since Paula is enabling Rebecca's condition.So, based on that argument, I think she should be with Greg.

I also think Paula is enabling her (she said herself that it's because she's using her as a daughter substitute) and that their friendship is going to go through an awful rough patch soon because of that, but I adore the character: she's a loyal, caring and sincerely wants to help Rebecca. the reason why i love this song is because we've all been Greg willing to be "plan b" and begging someone to settle for us. here, Greg seems like the reasonable option and even if he didn't have his drinking and anger problems, he'd still not be Josh, which for Rebecca is THE deal-breaker. and when in "It Was a Shit Show" he sings "to say it's fate, you'd have to be a bit slow" you can see he actually grew and realized while he needed to be better, he also deserved better. then when Nathaniel sings "Settle For Her" you can see there's nothing wrong with Mona, she's great, she's just not Rebecca. it shows how sometimes we can be great and still not be the one, and that's ok.

Yeah, to be fair: the only reason I "got in on the ground floor," so to speak, is because I was already a fan of Rachel Bloom from her CZcams stuff so I was already excited about the show from the start. The commercials definitely don't do the show any favors. I'm not sure how I would go about advertising a show like this, but then again that's not my job. I guess the music videos on CZcams are what really convinced me to seek the show out, though. When I found out I could watch it on the CW website I was ecstatic. I try to do as much evangelizing as I can but I just can't seem to get anyone else as excited about this show as I am. I might just have to sit down with my friends after the home release comes out and make them watch it. I'm inclined to disagree with you about Glee though-- bad as it was, it did have a substantial fanbase, and musical shows still have their place, I think. Empire's popular, right?
