The opening statement is not correct. Actually foam sclerotherapy is mostly done for visible superficial varicosities, of course after the principal source of reflux is already treated. This importance of accurate reflux mapping and correcting the reflux source should always precede the treatment of any superficial visible varicosity. A fact that is ignored in most practices where treating varicose veins is trivialized side practice merely for monetary gains.

Because the solution is made of sugar we use 50% dextrose.. whenever the cell has sugar what will happen? fluid will enter cell and may rupture.. so compression will add a pressure to prevent entery of fluid into the cells
