- Today we are picking the backsplash tiles for our Kitchen Renovation!! We went to Floor & Decor to pick which tiles would compliment our new countertops & cabinet paint colors... and I can't believe that we are in the final stages of this kitchen makeover! I think the backsplash needs color. You have a lot of white in your kitchen.
I like the one you chose that you can lay in a herringbone pattern.
I like just a classic white in a subway style. You can add color In accessories
I think I missed the name of the color you chose for the kitchen! 😅

My only hesitation with a very textured tile as a kitchen backsplash is how difficult it would be to clean. I think the quartzite has too many crevices to capture cooking residues.
I was thinking the same thing. It would not be so easy to clean.

Like the herringbone. When you started talking about the laundry room my first thought was "you should lime wash the walls" lol. I've been looking all around my house trying to find a wall that I could lime wash. That accent wall in the bathroom turned out so cool that I want to try it now!
You are such lovely parents to your boys.
PLEASE keep in mind how you would clean certain textures! Good ole spaghetti sauce on that white/tan stone is such a task to clean off. If you can find something with some type of top coat to help clean it easier then I HIGHLY recommend!!! (Cleaning the backsplash in my kitchen is a chore on its own that I dread doing) Can’t wait to see it all done!!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

I like the herringbone! I think the quartzite actually detracts from the counter tops whereas the herringbone lets them be the focal point.

I've been voting for a Herringbone w/an artisan type subway tile from wks ago....Lol!! I think it gives the most interest in that space - like it packs a nice but subtle punch for your backsplash area which isn't huge. And I completely agree that the Herringbone pattern with that particular style of Subway tile ( more artisan looking) creates some movement & depth....The only other style Subway tile that I think is cool & has subtle interest are the ones where the shades vary slightly - I saw you looking at them in the store & even though they had a bit of a shine to them I really liked how the varying shades looked & would also break up the white nicely....just a thought! But whatever tile you choose, a thousand times Yes to the Herringbone, backsplash!! Also, I like the shorter Subway tile as you would be able to see more of the pattern than with some that are longer. ok...stopping...sorry!! 🤐🙃 lol! Can't wait to see it all complete!! So excited for you guys! PS - I really liked that glass looking colored tile you looked at in the store (not for the kitchen) - that green one was so pretty - maybe in your laundry or a bathroom?? 😻😸❣

The kitchen looks beautiful. I did herringbone style with my subway tiles. I used dark grout so that the pattern could be seen.

I like the rough one, not the herringbone. It pops out a lot. The herringbone looks nice, but is a little too white. Hope you decide which one you like the best. Can't wait to see when it is all finished. Have fun in Montana!

Hi Sweet people, cabinets look great. I know you’ll be so happy when backsplash is done. Just don’t forget the tour. Your house is so big and I love that. Kyle is such a great husband, so much patience. Luke is so tall, give him two ,pre years, he’ll be as tall as dad. Which ever the one you pick, it’ll look great.
I think the herringbone tile is better. It gives a "flow" to the backsplash, plus it will be easier to clean. Can't wait to see what the finished look will be!

I had my kitchen redone 2 years ago. The contractor used stain resistant grout. I love it and so glad we did it. Splatters are no problem for me. I can clean it easily and nothing, not even tomato sauce, sticks to the grout and stains it.
