    Thank you for sharing this Pastor Renner. The Lord told me to write a book on Hebrews 5:12-6. The Lord showed me Himself back in 2011 that the FIRST baptism is into the Father, the family of God, into the body of Christ as a son/daughter of God where the Holy Spirit seals you until the day of redemption! Then the Baptism from Jesus into the Holy Spirit for POWER and then the baptism into the death burial and resurrection of Jesus. Thank you so much for sharing this, it is more confirmation & this really blesses me. As you are the ONLY other man I’ve heard that has this revelation. Wow. I am amazed. I have followed and supported your ministry since I first came to the Lord and will never stop! Thank you again!

      Wrong, Baptism is a sign of Gods covenant with his people. First he gave us Circumcision and that was replaced with Baptism. Colossians 2 “In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead.”
      ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I just turned 38 and I have been longing for the Holy Spirit baptism for almost 4 yrs (didn't know anything about tongues/Spirit Baptism before that). I have been told I need to get water baptism, again, before I can get it.

    12:30 The NT also uses the terminology "baptism in/with the Spirit" Acts 1:5 referring back to John the Baptist who also used the same phrase - entirely scriptural. There's nothing wrong with "baptism in the Spirit" - perfectly accurate and scriptural.

    Thank you Pastor Renner for clearing this up! This is such an important foundation to build on. Could you help me through my thoughts about my baptisms? I'll let you know how i became a believer, and want to know if i missed a baptism. Because i want my foundations to be strong and correct. So here is my story from memory. I was raised by christian parents. When i was 4 years old they divorced. i remember my parents praying before bed, before eating. But don't remember other teachings about Jesus or the importance of baptism. I learned to pray and ask for forgiveness, and i did througout my teen years. I can't remember if i asked Jesus for forgiveness, but i knew God existed, but did not obey him at the time. When i was 14 i cast out a demon attacking my mom in her sleep, and the demon fled right after i said "leave in the name of Jesus", this gave me more faith, but still was not sure. I was always near my big family, and did not really have many friends. My family gave me alot of love. When i was around 22 i started using weed because i was curious, i liked to watch documentaries about the world and lies were caught in. I started noticing the deception of this world, and sooner or later found out there was only one savior. I started listening to podcasts about the bible and the world we live in. After that i started digging into the idea of the flat earth, and after hours of studying and finding biblical scriptures which support this idea, i realised that i needed God even more. But because i was addicted to weed and since it gave me better spiritual understanding, i used it to seek God... I did ask for forgiveness alot, but kept falling into temptation (througout my life ive also been addicted to porn and masturbation, which i also struggled with) One day i was watching this movie about the book of acts (tlr movie) and this really made me realise that i needed to be baptized. I think at that moment i prayed that i wanted to change, i cried my heart out to Jesus. (don't remember me saying Jesus is my lord and savior though) a few months later i had the urge to be baptized, because i thought something would happen the next day (august 11) because there were alot of coincidences occuring + it was a muslim holiday... So i asked my mother to baptize me, she did in the name of the son, the father and the holy spirit. After my baptism i did feel freedom of my sins which i was struggling with. A month later i did fall into temptation a few times. But right now ive been free from those sins for more than a month. And about a month ago they prayed for speaking in tongues for me, which i did. On the way back home i was in the train and heard 2 women speaking different languages, which reminded me of my tongue language. Somehow i stopped praying in tongues because i was not sure if i really was baptized correctly... Should i just start doing it again? And do you think ive been baptized correctly all 3 of them? Last month ive been studying everyday about the bible and my relationship with God. I am praying more and more, and i hunger for truth. Eventually i want to evangalize. 2 weeks ago i was walking the dog, and saw a sick man, i prayed for him and it felt so natural. Normally i would be too scared.... Hope someone can encourage me :) Thank you and bless you! Shalom.

    In 1 Cor 12:13a “For in (or by) one Spirit we were all baptized into one body.” The view that “the HS baptizes into the body” is based on the foregoing word in v. 13 that can be translated as either "by" or "in" and you will find one or other in the various translations - most will footnote this. If we take the "by" version, we create a new doctrine found nowhere else in the NT. Basing a doctrine on one, ambiguous, verse is not a good idea. If we take the "in" version we have "baptized in one Spirit" which is a familiar doctrine which has everything to do with the context of 1 Cor 12 and is the source of the spiritual gifts discussed in this chapter. Secondly, the idea of the Spirit baptizing into the body is redundant. This is because "a body" is simply many diverse members led by one spirit. This is described in verses 4-11. There is simply no need for a "baptism BY the spirit into the body" - all members being led by one Spirit is sufficient to make them act as one - as a body. Next, if we think we are “…baptized BY one Spirit…,” then the phrase “one Spirit” is unnecessary to Paul’s argument because his objective is to show the Corinthians that they are part of one body. The fact that the “instrumentality” was due to “one spirit” adds nothing to the argument. On the other hand, if Paul means to point out that sharing one and the same spirit makes them one body, then “one Spirit” is absolutely essential to his argument since they have been "baptized in ONE Spirit into one body." In the preceding description in verses 4-11 we see this emphasis in hammering the "ONE Spirit" point. Finally, we should also make a distinction between the Head of the Body, which is Christ, and His Body, the Church. Even if we allow the "by" translation, what results is not the same as being “baptized into Christ (the Head)” which is claimed for such verses as Rom 6:3 and Gal 3:27 as Christ is the head and not the body; the body being the object into which the Spirit, as some claim, baptizes us in 1 Cor 12:13. Remember Jesus is the Door to the sheepfold - which is the Church - the body of Christ. One must first enter through this Door which is why we are "baptized into Christ" - e.g. the Head - just as the Israelites were "baptized into Moses" in 1 Cor 10; their new “head” who replaced Pharoah. For the foregoing reasons, the translation I prefer is "in one Spirit into one body” by which Paul is saying that when you were baptized in the Spirit (a.k.a. “received the Spirit”), you coincidentally by the same act, were “baptized,” or joined, to the body of Christ simply on account of the now-indwelling Spirit which "coordinates" the activities of His members.

    Rick Renner, I respect you very deeply! I buy as much of your material as I can afford to get my hands on. I think your very intelligent, and I admire your commitment to learning, especially being that I have been so blessed by it. But how on earth, can you say that water baptism, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost are not essential, or in other words necessary? I won’t even go into the water baptism, everybody should know that water baptism is definitely a necessary requirement for salvation. But to even go as far as to say the baptism of the Holy Ghost is not essential is incredible to me coming from you. Romans 8:9. And I’ll put it in the amplified version. Verse 9. But you are not living the life of the flesh, you are living the life of the Spirit, if the (Holy) Spirit of God (really) dwells within you(directs and controls you). But if anyone does not posses the (Holy) Spirit of Christ, he is none of His (he does not belong to Christ, is not truly a child of God). You just said that baptism is not essential, or necessary for salvation. The Bible just said you don’t belong to Jesus and neither are you a child of God. The Holy Ghost is the spirit of Jesus. You just said as long as you receive the first baptism, by the Holy Spirit and are joined to the body, your all good, and never mind the other 2. You can receive or do them, but you don’t have too! I marvel that you have been on point with so many other teachings, and managed to misconstrue the most important of them all. There is no way you can be right. This is very misleading and can be catastrophic to a believer. I’ll wait for an answer, but know that I respect you highly and dearly, neither have I lost that respect for you, and never will I. But with all your understanding and insight, I just want to see you explain your way out of this one. I’ll wait impatiently for your response. I’ve definitely got to hear this one. I will continue to support you through buying your material, because I feel all of it absolutely priceless. But on this subject, I really believe you just dropped the ball. Im not trying to be confrontational, I just can’t let what you just said slide. And in all your wisdom, I really doubt you have a good explanation. Your my brother regardless, and I’ll support and love you regardless. But I definitely have got to hear you explain yourself out of this one! And this is a sincere question, not a argumentative one, neither am I trying to criticize you, I admire you way too much for that. I just learned that there are 3 baptisms. I always wondered that. Help me with the answer to this question. Thank you sir. And I’m not trying to sow seeds of doubt into other believers. This is MY question. I was always taught spiritually , that you eat the fish and spit out the bones. This is the first time I feel you’ve put me in position that I definitely have to spit out the bones. This doesn’t sound like a teaching that I can trust.

      Hey Anthony, I won't get to deep here but after listening to the teaching again. Pastor Rick says it at 18:43 that water baptism is not essential to salvation. The context of the teaching clarifies that it is the water baptism itself, but salvation can come about without a physical/water baptism. However, he goes on to explain that this is a commandment by Jesus. So, he's definitely saying that it is important, but that some Christian's can or will choose to live without it. If you'd like to discuss it more and want more explanation please call or write to us at 1 800 742 5593 or prayer@renner.org.- Team Renner

      Starplayer Plus I strongly believe that that is referring to being baptized in the Holy Spirit cuz that is the only context I’ve seen it in sister. Mat3:11Mk1:8,Lk3:16,Jm1:33Acts1:5,Acts2:3.Hebrews 12:29 for our God is an all consuming fire. And I’ve heard many people who get healed or even have a hand laid on them say they felt fire or burning! 😊I was 7 years old when I got saved, but the life I lived was evil, I was a wicked man serving the devil cuz I was hurt and full of hate. However when I was 15 I came to the Lord when I got baptized with the Holy Spirit and that is what changed my life that’s what changed my life and I remember feeling fire throughout my body especially in my belly and was drenched in sweat and hot and spoke in tongues I know it is different for everyone but whether we feel it or not I strongly believe that we are all baptized in fire(Holy Spirit) when we receive the 2nd grace of the infilling of the HolyGhost. Exodus13:21-22, the Holy Spirit is how the Lord manifests on the earth amongst His people. I hope this has helped sister Carla God Bless 💙

      Brother Christian Alvarado thank you for your insight. I’m still a little unsure. I realise both John and Mark only mention the baptism of The Holy Spirit. However, Luke (3:16) and Matthew (3:11) state that Jesus will baptise with The Holy Spirit and fire - which leads me to think they are not one in the same. I have no doubt that their baptisms can occur at the same time (what happened for you).
      I was looking at Zechariah 13:9 possibly it is the purification through trials.
      You are right The Holy Spirit does renew our mind and lead us through all things (including trials). I do believe you have set me on the right path.
      I just need to get it clear in my heart as it lpppcould also be about 1 Corinthians 3:13 - 15 the day of Christ when the fire will test and critically appraise the character and worth of the work each person has done.
      I need to pray for guidance on this one. Thank you again.

      Carla Toonen hmmm interesting I like that viewpoint. Luke 12:49-50, 51-53, Mark 10:37-40, 41-45, Matthew 20:20-28. Luke 12 is my favorite here cuz he mentions the baptism of His hatred from the world and death, and mentions how He brings FIRE to the earth(interesting that it’s interchangeable with bringing s sword of division[Mat10:34]) I know He does not cause us to go through tribulations or death or persecution or hardship, but He allows it cuz the god of this world hates Jesus in us so we WILL suffer as He suffered2Tim3:12, Gal5:11,6:12-17,1Tim4:10, 1Thess2:15,2Thess1:3-11, John 15:18-25, 16:1-3, Luke21:11-19/Matthew10:16-39, Mark 13:9-16, James5:10-11, 1:3-12-13, 1Peter1:6-8, 2:19-23, 3:13-18, 4:1, *4:12-19*, (Job23:10, Zech13:9, Psalm66:10, Psalm12:6, Rev3:18-19, 2:10, Numbers31:22-23, Acts14:22) I may be able to see that sister, I believe it may be a baptism into the Holiness and separation from the world that causes us to be a target. Hmm, pray on it.

    Water baptism does not happen after salvation. Water baptism, along with hearing the message and repenting, is a PART of salvation "(No one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and spirit" John 3:5). Water baptism is also for the remission of sins, and then the Holy Spirit can enter (Acts 2:37-39). Yes, the house of Cornelius got the Holy Spirit before water baptism, but...Cornelius didn't even ask for the Holy Spirit, as you claim it is required (17:00). The house of Cornelius received the Holy Spirit simply while hearing the message that Peter spoke. Then they were immediately water baptized. And of course, it makes sense they got the Holy spirit first. Cornelius was a Gentile. Peter needed to see that the gentiles could receive the Holy Spirit, just as the Jews had. Also, the claim of the baptism patterns being the same in Acts is not true.

    • @crazyvoice12
      @crazyvoice12 Před 2 lety

      You just added your own reasoning to the account of Cornelius. Even if God needed Peter to see that the gentiles could receive the Holy Spirit, He could've waited until they were water baptized, there was no need to change the order. Secondly you cannot receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit prior to being born again and clearly Cornelius and family receive the Holy Spirit prior to being water baptized so again it shows water baptism is not required for salvation. God would not have unnecessarily switch the order if water baptism is required for salvation. Water baptism is a "work" and Ephesians 2:8 says we are saved by grace through faith, not of works which water baptism is. Also Romans 10:9-10 says if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation....Not water baptism. We have the same faith of Abraham where it says Abraham BELIEVED God and it was accounted unto him righteousness. No work is needed

    • @exnihilio1
      @exnihilio1 Před 2 lety

      John 3:5 is not talking about water baptism. It is talking about being born of water, which happens when you're born into the world. Your mother's water breaks and out comes the baby. That is the 1st birth. Now when you receive God as your savior and repent from your sins that is when you become Born again. Keep in mind he is talking about birth not baptism. You cannot take the text out of context. It will take a way from the correct interpretation of the text.

    Meaning, your outed, Do not pass Go, can’t walk through those Gates, you will not be Saved, if you do not Submit your Free Will to this action!!!

      Being born of Water and The Spirit means being born of the the Word and Spirit of God. Water is also used to represent the Word. We see in Ephesians 5:26 that Jesus sanctifies the church through the washing of the Water of the Word. Water baptism is an act of obedience but is not required for salvation. Should we get baptized? yes....... Is it required? No
