Newer Laptop may not have a VGA or HDMI port. If both of your Laptop does not have VGA /HDMI port or you do not have any Monitor, Smart TV etc. Then you need to do this .It will help to extend Laptop Screen to your old laptop.

thank you, I have been struggling with finding a way to use my laptop as a secondary screen for my desktop computer, this works perfectly. Everyone else on the internet said to use windows 10 miracast but that only works wirelessly and is way too laggy. This was very helpful

If primary machine is already connected ton internet with rj45 cable, can we connect to the secondary machine with usb to ethernet adapter and have similar results ? Or even better, can we connect the 2 machines with usb-c to usb-c ? That would be so helpful. Best.

hello, i wanna ask, so does it means if my one laptop only have the vga port and my other laptop have hdmi port, so then i connect it with vga + hdmi cable, can it works? as an extended windows (not duplicate window)
I wonder what data rate this uses and if video will play without skipping. Please make another video about this and show us how well this works for audio/video/gaming etc.
I'm thinking, maybe I can have one powerful desktop computer in the home and use a slower computer to share the screen with. That way, I can spend money on upgrading only one computer but enjoy the benefit on my slower laptop in any room of the house.
A question in my head is this, will this will work flawlessly over 100 mbps Ethernet connection?
Will it work over 802.11n WiFi as well?

Is there a way where I can make it where the whole screen is 1920x1080 besides it just being in the radius of the mouse if that makes sense, because where ever I move my mouse is 1080p but outside the radius of the mouse is in a very low resolution and it bothers me lol

There is no modem. You need a LAN cable with RJ45 connector.

Sorry for the delay. Pause video at 5:20 . You can see three dot menu [ ... ] on that window. Click that icon and go to the "Display Settings" then drop down "Multiple Displays" . You will find everything there. Multiple Displays option is not available when not connected.

Sorry for the late! Open Spacedesk from the start menu in your primary pc and click on the three dots menu ( ... ) You can find display settings there.

There is no use of this application if you have HDMI connectivity . You can connect with PC's default display setting.

Hello author! I have a big problem here, yesterday I shutted down my PC(primary), but after that, my ethernet didn't work. Just a restore point helped me. Today, have tried restart and have gotten same result. Can You help me somehow?
P.S. I have restarted my PC without closing the session. My laptop(secondary) works fine after restart

@@STechVision I detected that spacedesk driver change my LAN ip in 192.168.0.xxx, but my router is set up on 192.168.17.xxx. BTW my laptop works fine. I can't set my ip address as static in pc's settings, because my router works with DHCP server
