It was worth the wait it is brilliant but i wish Stock shortage issues were sorted sooner 😐*Win the TRAXXAS Fiesta ST Rally here:* raffall.com/355016/enter-raffle-to-win-traxxas-fiesta-st-rally-bl-2s-hosted-by-beyondrc
I bought the kit to build with my kids and for them to have as a first RC car. We adore it and have had so much fun. With a 2S battery it has a great snappy response. I also filled the shocks with 40wt oil to give it a bit more bottom out resistance. For a first hobby grade RC car it’s an absolute blast and a great value. I can’t wait to upgrade it as the kids get older.
its a great truck for the money and ideal as a first hobby grade RC car! Enjoy!
Got one for my kid when they came out, now a budget 3S brushless in it. Totally unhinged!
I love the on-board camera angles! Especially underneath
😎👍👍
I stepped into the ARRMA world for the first time with the Gorgon. Loved it right out of the box and love it even more since upgrading to brushless. Glad you could finally get yours.
I am looking forward to making it brushless!
It’s awesome even stock with a good battery.
@@williamperri3437 it is. I ran mine on 2S lipo with the stock setup and it was a lot of fun.
I swear these plastic chassis arrmas are tanks. Built like tanks with all that built in flex
$40 for a diff and slipper clutch is outrageous. I was literally thinking about one of these for the grandson, but that drove me away right off the bat. Not to mention I am not sure how well that body is built, how it will hold up to a little bashing, which I am 100% sure he'll be doing with it. He destroyed the front end on my Furitek Cayman Pro RTR, on the first run, ran over the dog's tail and got hair wrapped around the hubs, stripped the front end diff immediately. Parts availability and cost is why I am always telling folks to stay away from Furitek products, and this sounds like it may be a similar situation. Great video, though, thanks, looked like you had some fun there.
You don't have to worry about the diff or slipper on these. They are extremely tough. People are running 4S and 6S with very little issues.
The entire driveline uses almost 50mm wide gears, and the slipper is also metal so that’s why it cost so much. This has a much beefier transmission than it needs to be and can withstand way more power than the rest of the car is built for. I built my kit with blx electronics from a granite and it’s yet to break anything on 3s, it’s a great truck!
@@michaelhughes1225Oh, then for sure those are nice beefy gears then, makes for a great entry truck then, as it really had some grip on the loose dirt. Thanks for that explanation!
@@BA0701I’m sure you can buy it piece by piece too surely! Sure you may need to buy an occasional spur gear but the slipper clutch entirely? I never see you breaking that. Maybe replacing worn pads but those are a few bucks and so is the spur gear 👍🏽
Only issue I have had, was on two separate occasions. A direct hit to the front bumper caused the motor to shift losing drive.
So far I’m very pleased with it’s performance
My 7 year old son have done a backflip Today. He is Happy. I Love the car to. At our Garden with Ramps its my first choice . greetings from Germany
I love mine. Its a ton of fun! Cool video!
Thank you :)
Love my Gorgon too much I find myself grabbing it for majority of my bashing since I got it my poor granite and senteon blx have been on the shelve 😂
Man! I’m telling you if I go do some on road stuff I’m always bringing my 2wd slash, it feels so different, it’s refreshing. Takes some time to get a good lap dialed in but once you do it’s so so good
I love my Gorgon, I want them to release a 4x4 version
It's called the Arrma Granite. This chassis simply wouldn't fit a driveshaft and isn't possible to make 4wd
@@james215RC this..
I bought one for my daughter. Now I'm jealous.
It's a great little truck, just needs more power and better shocks, I'm using the rear shocks off of the Typhon and the Vorteks. I will be putting a Spektrum brushless set up in it with a Radio Link receiver.
i think it was well worth the wait. my youngest would love this hes 4 and just wants a big m/t. so the 50/75/100 speed control would be helpful. great review mate as always👍🏻
I think the grom version are better but love the look of this.
@@chrisvda7277 hes already got a small truck, hes got the ftx tracer which is great dont get me wrong but i know he wants something bigger 👍🏻 saying that the new typhon grom looks really good
Cool little truck. I like the coloring and the Grave Digger style, plus it's Arrma tough! 💪
looks like it will be very tough!
I've yet to be let down by an Arrma vehicle, despite my initial reservations.
Sucks you have issues in other countries getting these machines. I checked the slipper clutch price in the US: $34, which Google says is equivalent to 27 pound sterling. Diff set is $38/£30 body is $60/£48
Your part price is higher in pounds than mine is in dollars. Makes me wonder if this issue specific to Arrma part prices, or if there is some major import tax on toy car parts where you live.
Thanks for the insight and the vid. Now let’s see what u can do with it as a non beginner…POWER!!!!
Yessssss
Nice release from Arrma. I like that they release some cheaper yet quality models 😊
for sure they just need to work on bringing the cost of parts down!
Well done for bringing up the point of expensive spares and the lack of availability here in the UK. I've been thinking about getting an Arrma Granite Grom (also sold out) and noticed that a second battery for it would be £30! Both Arrma and Traxxas seem to be much more expensive here than in the US.
Only £30?? That's cheap asf
Give Rochester RC a call... They may have a couple of Groms in their store or Pre Order the Typhon Grom!!!
@@andrempmorais For a small 1400mah battery? I don't think so.
@@mauriceharvey4300 Oh I did not know the capacity
Will you be doing another video of the Gorgon once you have upgraded it to brushless? I’d would be interested to see what kit you install and how it performs.
should be.. stay tuned for that :)
I ordered mines('in stock') 2 weeks before Christmas.. gifts for my sons... Received them March 16 in Holland 😂🤣
😂😂
Fantastic video mate yes I've got mine it came before Christmas last year. The only issue I have with it is that I've replaced the streeing servo saver about 3 times that's the week point I think. Plus now I've just upgrade mine from brush to brushless system and it's now more powerful enough running on 3s lipo batterys. 😊😅😮
cant wait to run mine on 3s! I bet it wheelies like crazy!
I’ve heard the body is a bit fragile could get expensive in a hurry maybe if they make a boost version like they do with the vortex, the granite etc. so you can eventually make it brushless and 4x4 it would be worth a look but there are better trucks for less the HBX 2996a for example
I have tested both and I have to say the 2996a is noticeably smaller and although its a great truck the gorgon is more fun!
My biggest concern is with the esc receiver combo… 25a is puny in my opinion. Would it be great idea to replace the stock esc receiver combo with a 40a version?
Could be a great idea although I’m going brushless!
Still on pre order now here in Canada. I gave up now that theres a million videos and it looks like the old arrma raider from back in the day.
The fact that you have to defend yourself is mad. It's a fun truck, pricing confused me compared to the Groms though. The only downside to this truck, is when the body breaks
Believe it or not 4 years into doing this and my integrity and honesty is still questioned.. as soon as you say something nice about a product these days people immediately think we have been paid large amounts of money by the company to say those things! Total rubbish its not something i would do or risk losing the trust of almost 40,000 people!
when Arrma first announced the 2wd Gorgon, I said def not for me. A brushed beginners truck that was 2wd, not interested so I thought. However for some reason I did decide to get one when they released the first batch in the UK, boy am I glad I changed my mind & got the Gorgon. Despite how many larger more expensive faster cars I have, the Gorgon is a hoot to drive even brushed. Since gone brushless & the smile has got even wider, all this for around £152 for the stock Gorgon with no battery or charger. Bargain of the century + its a tank, parts are a bit expensive though. Hopefully we wont have to buy to many parts, where it is proving to be a very durable truck. Main thing to do is to strengthen the body especially at the rear with tape & shoe Goo or you will destroy the body at the rear. It def needs a wheelie bar to stop destroying the body, if you go brushless fit a wheelie bar before you ever run the truck.
I plan to upgrade the steering servo, go brushless, wheelie bar and reinforce the body and hopefully its a solid basher throughout 2024!
Not bad
Common Rochester Rc, lend this guy a Kraton Exb V2 RTR 👍
hahaha!! Take note rochesterRC
Not only Arrma being problematic on stock. I would dearly love the new Losi Baja Rey 2.0, but apparently Losi have got no intention of letting UK customers get one. Very frustrating and disrespectful.
How supple are them tire😳… lol. My girl made me rewind the video to show me. I guess she liked the way you grab them tires😬
😂😂😂 I’m gad someone appreciated that 😝😝
Nice ❤
Thanks Emily 😎👍
I love the look of the Gorgon and it is a load of fun but do I need it??? 🤣. The price of the spares really does put me off.
Great truck to add to the collection and really fun even with the stock brushed system but £40 for a slipper clutch? Can see many beginners turning away due to the cost of parts..
@@beyondRC Yeah 100% agree with you there Rik.
This is a good review! Great rc, looks very smooth on off road. However Arrma and their so called "big brand" parts availability LoL, and the price of these parts...
yes I agree questionable this time around parts availability...
It definitely seems like an interesting truck but at that price you're probably better off getting something from HBX or HYPER GO
But we have to remember those trucks are a lot
Smaller . Depends what your looking to do
@@beyondRC You do have a point there. I'm looking forward to see what upgrades you do to the Gorgon.
Edit: one thing I forgot to mention was that the suspension looks great out of the box, all wheels were making contact throughout the video.
mate which woods do you run in , follow your videos
Where you from???
Anyone near Colchester lol
hayes middx
@chriseates8385 Yea he runs around Essex mate.
dont sound an essex boy , too far to drive ill stick to windsor grt park
First!
The "marmite truck" some will love it some will hate it me i think its so darn ugly, but hey, others will love it
It looks cool but I wouldn’t buy it
fair enough 😎👍
The spares are way overpriced in the USA too, reason enough not to buy it.
:/
Brushed, 2wd. Meh. Is this 1987 with the kyosho big brute?
Spend a tad more and you get a more capable vehicle.
