Beatles fans and Queen fans hit like!
Just hearing Queen's personal tribute, to John Lennon, just has me nearly in tears, cos they are no longer with us. Like Freddie sang, "Life is a b***h", if life wasn't 1, we'd have Freddie Mercury, and John Lennon alive today, in 2019.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Freddie wrote a song like John Lennon for John Lennon. Pure genius
Im remember not liking this song because the lyrics confused me and now I get it 😂
from legend to legend
I'm You queen and I love her
NO ONEdotCOM of course is a blueberry ugly freak out of her eyes 👀
That's true, John Lennon was a legend with The Beatles, and Freddie Mercury was a legend with Queen.
Freddie Mercury, and John Lennon are legends. We will never forget them. They live on, in our hearts.
@John lennon ✔ shut up spammer you will never be near John Lennon
Today Lennon would be 75...
Happy birthday Lennon! As Freddie said, "Lennon is a genius".
Freddie Mercury would have been 73, on 5th September, 2019, and John Lennon would have been 79, on 9th October, 2019, they were the best of British. John Lennon 9th October, 1940- 8th December, 1980. Farrokh Bulsara, (AKA, Freddie Mercury) 5th September, 1946- 24th November, 1991. We still love you, John, and Freddie, thank you, for your music, genius, legacy, legend, and memories.

As a chemist I can conclude that Feddie's voice is full of beryllium, gold and titanium.
Because his voice is Be-Au-Ti-full
I thought his voice was pure Hg, cos he's pure Mercury!
+Shelbie Lynn Thrasher I was going to say that since he has got a killer voice, but since he has got a solid voice at room temperature I had to make my previous conclusion ;)
Nice conclusion
Winand Mathijsen oh wow. that's awesome

Life is real...sometimes tragic RIP Freddie-Lennon.
R.I.P John Lennon
R.I.P Freddie Mercury
Both will always be remembered as legends
Hot Space isn’t even a bad album, just because a rock band changed their music doesn’t mean it’s bad, it means they changed their work a little. As Freddie said, ‘It’s only a bloody record.’
I agree. I quite enjoy Hot Space and it shows how Queen can do loads of different genres so if anything, it made me love Queen more
Hot space is a good album with some great songs. I think people were critical of it because it was not expected of Queen to make that kind of music with them being a rock band.
I am PewDiePie terrible production. With some great songs
Hot space is an amazing album
In my opinion, hot space is a good album. But Brian and Roger said they didn’t like the album...and the band was in a bad shape at the time of hot space
Lennon and Mercury....
Were both geniuses
Lennon would love it
How very, very true.
Erik B. Agreed
If Lennon had never been murdered this song would not exist
@@betito_pp so?
He would be flattered, I wish he heard it :(
I attended the concert where this song was first performed live: August 5, 1982, Market Square Arena, Indianapolis, Indiana. 🙂
What an exciting experience to see this amazing performance.
Why is nobody talking about how nice it is that Queen sang a song for John Lennon?
R.I.P Freddie Mercury and John Lennon

Brian even said that The Beatles were like the Bible to them.
A legend singing to a legend
legend singing to *God*
2:53 " Life is a bitch" hahaha one of my favorites parts of the song
Ha
Freddie is trying to tell the truth.
It reminds me of the line from "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life".
"Life's a piece of shit.
When you look at it.
Life's a laugh, and death's a joke.
It's true".
Freddie really got the nuances for Lennon's solo work down-pat. This was a great underrated gem from Hot Space
.....the great thing of this song is that it sounds like if it was a Lennon song...but at the same time it keeps Queen sound itself......i'm pretty sure they've made it on purpose of course.....genius singing' about another genius...
They created it based on John's "Love is Real"
It sounds like a deliberate parody of Lennon, though it may have been accidental so.

Sounds like a song that John would write :) I don't know why, I just find it similar to his style.
Because freddy mercury is genius in music
@@loezee5355, Freddie Mercury is a genius in music, he loved the music styles of The Beatles, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, and Elvis, in my humble opinion.
Nana Wakagimi True
Me too
coz the rhythm is too similar to the lennon songs... specially the drum pattern
The song is not only a tribute for John Lennon, but also a lesson about life.
One of my favourite Queen songs.
Freddie Mercury's voice and John Lenon's soul!!
Best Lennon tribute out there. It is Queen and yet it's such a great homage in terms of music alone.
Daniil Lytovchenko True
Here Today, When We Was Fab And All Those Years Ago ate also great
@@matthewfinnegan4482 And Elton John's "Empty Garden" is also great
I have to say Elton John's Hey Hey Johnny is the best but this is good.
@@karyn3341 Hi Karyn, I agree that Elton John's tribute song is beautiful, and especially poignant because Elton John and John Lennon were friends. I think the Elton John song is actually called Empty Garden. Sometimes it is written Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny). I just mention it to make it easier for people who read your comment to find the Elton John song. Also some sites list it as ELTON JOHN, BERNIE TAUPIN. For many songs released by Elton John, the music was by Elton John and the words by Bernie Taupin, so perhaps it was the same collaboration on the tribute song.
Both were born to be a legends.
Thanks Freddy & Lennon.
You will never be forgotten and replaced.
"Lennon is a genius. Living in every pore"
Cool, a Beatle style song by written by Queen. Love them both
Life is real when I hear your voice. I still miss you.
My love for queen is real
Same
And yet, when I listen to this song, it seems to me that Freddie wanted to express his most intimate point of view about what LIFE meant to him.
Those verses such as "Sleeping is my leisure, waking up in a minefield", or "Loneliness is my hiding place, breastfeeding myself"..., Oh, God! They're simply superb and full of sensitiveness.
For me, the best lyrics ever written in musical history.
This sounds like a song John wrote this is incredible
I rarely use the word genius to describe people, but Lennon and Mercury were obvious geniuses. So intelligent, so singular, so ahead of their time.
You have to add Ren to very rare breed of geniuses.Check him out starting with Hi Ren though his earlier songs are also brilliant
Freddie is a genius
Never heard this before.Ive been reading Freddie Mercury In His Own Words book.I wasnt born when Lennon was around and i was 11 when Freddie was stolen away.Ive always appreciated Freddie & Queen and i remember the AIDS tv adverts but didnt understand it back then.Im 40 now and learning so much so quickly.Even down to how HIV and AIDS affect the body inside and out.Im crying atm as Ive just found out he lost half a foot due to AIDS and had become almost blind before passing away.So desperately sad that he suffered so badly. My brother comitted suicide 10 yrs ago as he started developing the lesions on his brain and he didnt want us to watch him suffer.1 day it will be fully eradicated.God bless Freddie xx
3 months later, but sending you a hug mate
No one should go through that
Hot space is honestly like my 3rd fav album queen have made..
As a Lennon lover I bought the single Body Language only because of this flip side.
It was 1982 and I was only 14 years old but a great Lennon lover.
Since then I'm a great Queen and Freddie lover too!
This song is so underrated. It's beautiful ❤️.
Freddie was so talented. John Lennon was too. Both are so missed and loved by their fans. Freddie has been my hero for many years. Love and miss him dearly. RIP ❤️❤️❤️❤️👑👑👑
To be honest, I like most of hot space' s songs. Although they are nothing like their typical style, I still love it.
I love that " Lennon is a genius "....It Always brings me back to this song.....I remember it as a kid...
Freddie Mercury sounds so like John Lennon, when he sang Life Is Real, (Song For Lennon), the song was a tribute to 1 of his musical heroes, The Beatles's John Lennon, who was shot, and killed, in New York, aged 40, on 8th December, 1980, nearly 2 years before the song was released. Brian May played acoustic guitar, when Kerry Ellis covered Life Is Real, but Kerry Ellis sang, "Freddie Is A Genius", after Freddie Mercury's tragic, premature death, from AIDS, on 24th November, 1991, aged just 45. If Freddie Mercury, and John Lennon were alive, I think they would have been very, very proud, having musical tributes named after them. RIP Freddie, Mr and Mrs Bulsara, Freddie's partner, Jim Hutton, and John Lennon. 😥❤
Awesome comment, Michael. I think they would be very proud, as well.

Ok, Hot Space wasn't their best album but this song for the great Lennon, Under Pressure with Bowie and the voice of Freddie in Cool Cat are three masterpieces no matter what other say haha
Cool cat live didn't work but it's amazing on the album even with Bowie's backing vocal drama🙄
Tursiops and dancer and backchat imo
And Backchat and Put Out The Fire.
I genuinely loved the entire album. It just didn’t get as much recognition since funk music “wasn’t their thing.”
hot space is my second favorite album of theirs
I remember the late 80s, when I discovered Queen, listening to this vinyl alone at night in the dim light of my bedroom and thinking "and yet it's good...". No internet nor comment areas to share my thoughts with others. Queen was not so popular among youngsters in those days, not to say this album; sadly things changed in '91. Had to wait a bit to see I'm not alone in listening to that "forgotten" music.
Chilling to think "Blood on my terraces" is referring to Lennon's blood on the steps of the Dakota that tragic evening almost 40 years back RIP John life most definitely is real
At the end, he sounds as John Lennon, Pretty Genius, since it was a Big Gift for Him!
Another song featuring the "basspiano", as I would call it. Freddie's piano and John's bass are locked into each other just so well that you can hardly tell them apart. What a deep and full sound! Of course, Roger is totally in sync with them, too. Love it sooo much!
It's amazing, I overheard this song. I knew it was from Queen but I felt a style of Lennon or The Beatles and today I learned that it was for Lennon, they really hit the target in front of their musical style!
Live Queen always!
Beautiful tribute to Lennon. His hero🙂
freddie was a genius! He really nailed lennon's songwriting style with this song. I can actually hear john singing this in my head
I never knew there could be a good mix of two musical styles, but Queatles here proving humanity can

“Lennon is a genius, living in every pore, life is real”

The phrase: "loneliness is my hiding place" reveals Freddie's shyness. And also this is a demonstration of how Freddie loves music (music will be my mistress). I love this song and I love Freddie so much😍❤
The best song off Hot Space imo. Thanks to Brian & Roger for making the new Queen film. Has brought me back to their music full circle

As a fan of both Queen and the Beatles, I feel John's, George's, and Freddie's deaths terribly. I wish they were still alive. They deserved longer lives
This first "live is real" sounds like in John Lennons Song called Love when he sings "love is real". I love both of them they were both genuises that changed music for ever. Rip to both

This Freddie Mercury & Queen song reminds me of John Lennon's "Mother".
A fitting tribute to a former Beatle.
May both Freddie and John rest in Rock n Roll Heaven.
You’re right. It does sound similar. And it also seems a play on “Is this the real life”.
This song reminds me of "A Day In The Life", but like.... with the lovely trademark Queen style. (It sounds like ADITL even in the drums like... Wow!) It's just lovely how they did that tribute for John!
“Love is a roulette wheel” such a beautiful and genius lyric i love it so much
I heard of the reputation of this album first before listening to its content. When I first heard this particular song, 'Hot Space' was the least I expected it to have been on. I thought it's from their prime in the '70s.
