This pattern is a pattern that Jock Kettles showed me around ten years ago. It's a Nymph/Lure that found its origins in Scotland. Works particularly well in the warmer months, I have always found it a frustrating fly to fish with as it just does not seem to work as well as similar patterns for me anyway.
Its always worth having a couple in the box though ;-)

I once caught that many fish on this pattern that I was embarrassed. It was what they wanted on the day and I'd never be without it again.

These are very effective flys in size 10 competition size. They work well on sunk and floating lines. Have used the original pattern
for 20 years and they can be effective with buzzer and daphnia feeders alike. Nice tie Lindsay

Any idea if this is a general pattern or for a specific nymp/hatch?
