I’m new to fly fishing. Started in April. You’ve inspired me to start tying my own flies! Priceless. I hope to order some tying supplies soon. Love the videos man! You do a great job. Best I’ve seen.
Very nice davie ,i'v been waiting a couple of years for you to tye this one but it was worth it , cheers and all the best.
Hi, I made some for me and my friend last week, using white wool and we both caught on them. Thanks again
I’m quite looking forward to giving this one a try. I’ve never seen a caddis pattern like this, but I’m sure it’s both fun to fish and to tie. Thanks!
I look forward to trying this pattern, cracking tying as always, thank you! I have used a cream (the peeping bit) version with a ball on a bent pin holding the weight. This is far more elegant and interesting, as normal.
Think I have to tie this one - thanks for the inspiration Davie.
hehehe..... another one for me to try!
I’ve got some jig force so I’ll just scrounge up some wool from a neighbour! lol
Nice tie Davie and, as always, thank you.
Very simple, looks effective! Thnx Davie
I'll give that one a try when I get me some jig hooks!!!
Nice caddis Davie
Thanks Davie, I'm going to try this one.
Another gem.
I’d say that would be very effective. Very nice pattern
stunning pattern!! thanks for sharing!!!!
Davie wouldn't reversing the Partridge legs be more appropriate? I'm going to My Vise now!
nice pattern Daviesan..thnx.4sharing!! ;))
Excellent as always. Davie have you ever heard of a "peeping" style caddis pattern that uses a sliver of foam in place of the yarn to better insure the hook end is presented to the fish?
Thanks and ATB!
Hi Joe,
I've not tyed one with foam instead of the wool though it would make sense to tye a few as I'm sure it would work really well or even better at times..I'm glad you liked it..
All the very best Davie...
Nice fly👍🏻
Cute fly!!
Good thing I understand what's going on, but gaaaawd dang that accent is thick.
Love this fly 🇺🇸
Is yarn just common knitting wool yarn? I am having trouble finding chartreuse. Any suggestions?
Morning Marie,
I did a quick search this morning and found this wool which looks great and it's a good price as well..Link below..
All the very best Davie

very good👏 Очень хорошо. 👍
Curious pattern. Thanks
Brilliant tie as ever Davie, what size bead do you recommend for size 12 to 16 hooks? Cheers
Hi Josh,
I've used 2.5mm and 3mm on a size 12 but never tyed this pattern down to a size 16 though I have used 2mm and 1.5mm beads on a size 16 for this size..I'm glad you enjoyed the video..
All the very best Davie..
I've just finished tying my first fly so very much a beginner, the help is hugely appreciated!
Do you have to use green?
Hi Jimmy,
Olive, Cream, Yellow, Orange and even pink are all worth a go as I have tyed them in these colours over the years and they have all caught fish for me and many friends..
All the very best Davie....
Davie McPhail thank you sir
