    There seem to be 2 versions of the headstock design for these guitars. The one you have with the "arrow" shape at the top, but there is also the one with a little cutout at the top. The latter one looks so much better imho. Unfortunately, I couldn't find out which ones the newer ones have.

      @SoulStringChannel  Před 3 měsíci

      Hey buddy thanks for the message! Wow I didn't know that ! Based on what you are saying the one I reviewed seems to be the newer headstock as it's a fairly recent model. Unless they released it in the past year. I haven't seen the one you are referring to but it does sound nicer! Cheers

      @@SoulStringChannel I checked "Kleinanzeigen", which is basically the German version of Craigslist for used ones and from what I found, I would say they used the old headstock at least between 2013 and 2016. But not many used ones available at the moment.

    I wanted to dip my toe into the world of single-cuts having only ever played S type and T type guitars. Picked up a CR Custom locally for an absolute steal. Stunning quilted maple top. It has proper Kluson Deluxe tuners, TonePros bridge and stoptail and Seymour Duncan pickups (JB bridge and 59 neck!) it’s an absolutely killer instrument and I feel zero need to ‘upgrade’ to a proper Les Paul

      @SoulStringChannel  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Hey buddy! Wow that sounds like an amazing guitar! The specs are top! Gotta say I totally agree with you when you have a guitar like that the "upgrade" talk makes no sense! It's a great guitar regardless of the name on the headstock! Oh and also another thing I noticed is that they seem to stay in tune like a rock! I always found Gibson LP to have bad tuning but these are solid! Cheers for the comment

    I have Cort 230 the black and white one and i can say that i love it more than any expensive guitars, it sounds sooo good and is very versatile, the EMG pickups are at a next level with this guitar, i know a lot of haters that they say "Yeah but it's a Cort" and some of them after playing it they get kinda jealous, and the low action on it makes it even better and enjoyable to play.
    Good video and rock on!!

    I have a Cort CR200 and I can officially say that it is hands-down one of the best LP style guitars out there. It plays great, looks absolutely stunning and comes very close in terms of tone, versatility and playability.

    Checked your words for several times and finally get one! Mind-blowing! Every word you said in this video, in my opinion, is absolutely right. I love this guitar more than my other. It's absolutely a peice of quality gear. Love it more for crunchy blues and rock sound on emg active❤

    Very nice review, and I agree with your praise of this guitar and brand Cort in general. Now I share with you my experience of brand Cort.
    I own Cort CR300, CR250 Antique Amber (like Epiphone Greeny), Samick AV3 and EC-256FM. Among all, CR250 is the loudest and most bright sounding.
    Now the "con". Within a year, I detected intonation problem in 1st and 2nd string of CR300 and while changing strings, discovered that 1st and 2nd strings have dug in some of the frets 😢. This means the hardness of the fret wires is below the required limit, which is a quality non-confirmance.
    A couple of years ago I purchased Cort KX307MS 7-stringer. Few days later I noticed that the strings are touching the fretboard on lower frets. After analysis, discovered that the crown height of the fret wires was less 😲 (lesser than specified Jumbo frets). Secondly, there were no dot inlays on the side of the neck. Barring these two defects, the guitar and its neck was rock solid. But I sold the guitar immediately and at a 60% of its purchase price.
    The point is that Cort guitars are 90% perfect. But that remaining 10% non-perfection badly affects guitar functions.

    Great review, sir! :))) What about the weight and does it have neck dive? I had a Harley Benton with FAT 55, but it was around 4 kg and very neck heavy...

    • @SoulStringChannel
      @SoulStringChannel  Před 4 měsíci +5

      Hey buddy! Thank you so much! Gotta say it is a really balanced guitar. No neck dive and the weight is really reasonable. Way lighter than Gibsons. I really like it and the satin finish is really my favourite part. Just looks awesome

    Late to the party but how is the volume roll off on these? I have EMGs in an Epiphone LP and they don't lose top end as I roll back the volume. And I have treble bleed on another two of my guitars and I have realised it is a feature that I really lean into a lot
    I have a Cort 335 which I noodle on a lot, but don't gig much. However every time I do gig it I get positive comments about my sound. I did have to reverse the saddle on the bridge to get it intonated though. And even then it could do with another mill on a couple of the strings. But its good enough for most things

    Got a Cort Matt Murphy, very nice, well made guitar. Nice fat neck, finally found I liked humbucker size P-90's best in it. Got it at GC a while ago on a whim, just caught my eye. Not built as well as my core PRS's or my R8, but every bit as good as my older Korean made PRS. Same factory I believe.

      @@SoulStringChannelyes yes, but recently they changed the logo design.

  • @knockywigglesworth1909

    Samick in Korea also made some early Cort guitars Wouldn't be surprised if Cort later made instruments for Samick at different times... The quality has always been greatly underrated! Good guitars top ones almost Great but you'll get no respect!

    I think Cort and Samick both realised 20 years ago that there are some advantages to just making other people's guitars. I wonder if they often use their own names just to fill in gaps in their production schedules. When they make (or made) Squier, Epiphone, Ibanez, etc, they had none of the marketing costs and didn't have to worry about unsold inventory or maintaining distributor/dealer networks.

      I don't know if I own a single guitar NOT made by Cort, either directly or indirectly, except for my American Standard Strat and a Japanese Gretsch of mine. I'm pretty sure they make most of the world's mass produced guitars, don't they? Scott Grove mentioned that too here on YT once if I remember correctly.@@sfgchannel349
