    1 pro-tip, when you put them on a radiator, but then upside down because air that heats up or vaporizes goes upwards. If you leave the circulation close, you keep the stinky air trapped.

      You're welcome 😄. I've actually discovered something new that is better at getting rid of glove stink. It's called Envii Kit Fresh and I bought if from Amazon. I'd highly recommend it 👌

    Just get a boot dryer and put them on after training. The trick is just to keep them dry

  • @202d

    I got a sweet ass pair for xmas last year and despite daily wipe outs with Clorox wipes & letting them sit in the sun on my windowsill, and also putting either dryer sheets or those cheap charcoal bags inside as dryers, they still stink so bad that they ruin my wraps the second I put them in the glove...so I got desperate today and i cleaned them with Oxi Clean and hot water...i ran the water through to completely rinse the oxi clean out as I had previously used baking soda and leaving a few kernels of that in there is extremely agitating when sweating and punching... So now I have soaked gloves , clean as hell, sitting in front of a fan and I am hoping that the fan clears the water out of the padding before it get ruined. any further suggestions would be appreciated.

    Do you have any tips on the outside of the glove? I mean on the leather.

    • @johnnyboykickboxer8302
      @johnnyboykickboxer8302  Před 5 lety +2

      Hi Jerohm Jallorina, I usually just give the outside of my gloves a quick spray with Dettol antibacterial and then wipe with a piece of kitchen towel. This keeps the outside clean and doesn't appear to have affected the leather

    • @jerohmjallorina1728
      @jerohmjallorina1728 Před 5 lety

      Just a disinfectant like Dettol. No spray, wax or oil for the leather to keep it from drying and cracking? Sorry i'm a beginner.

    • @johnnyboykickboxer8302
      @johnnyboykickboxer8302  Před 5 lety +4

      That's all I use, just a light spray of Dettol then wipe off to kill the germs from sweat etc. I haven't used any wax or oil or anything and the leather is fine with no cracks or anything and I've had my gloves for over a year. Just don't leave your gloves damp or put your gloves in direct sunlight or heat as this will harden the leather and ruin it over time. I guess its probably a good idea to condition the leather occasionally, although I never have done 🤔
      There's actually a post here on Sherdog Forums about conditioning leather gloves forums.sherdog.com/threads/cleaning-your-leather-boxing-gloves.2194583/

    If I spray dettol inside of them, so I need to worry about chemicals irritating my skin on the next use?

    • @johnnyboykickboxer8302
      @johnnyboykickboxer8302  Před 3 lety

      The Dettol has never really irritated my skin. I guess there's always the possibility that it could irritate somebody's skin - it does say on the can that it can be used on fabric - similar to Febreeze, but I guess that's the risk we take 🤔. My hands were suffering more from the build up of bacteria in the gloves over time, which is why took to giving the inside a quick spray with dettol. The same for my shin guards.

  • @matt3122
    @matt3122 Před 3 lety +1

    That anti-bacterial spray probably isn't safe for human contact.

    • @johnnyboykickboxer8302
      @johnnyboykickboxer8302  Před 3 lety

      It's used to freshen and clean household fabric, soft furnishings (including couches and cushions etc) so I would imagine it's pretty safe if it gets on the skin. Granted I would be careful with any cuts/grazes etc on the hands when putting them into the gloves after using any antibacterial spray in them as it may sting a little and it can dry the skin a little over time if too much is used. Seems to work fine for me, but obviously use with caution

    Hello My boxing gloves were misplaced in my gym , someone accidentally took them and now after a loooot of days my gym has given them back to me and honestly not too sure if they are ven mine its a common one ..
    So will have to do with whats been given
    How do i comoletely sanitize or clean inside out consideting its pandemic time too thank you.

      Eww that sounds grim! 🤢
      I think I'd be very reluctant to put my hands inside sweaty gloves that someone else has been wearing, but I understand that if you don't have another pair then you need to just work with what you have. To be honest I don't think there's a way to completely sanitize your gloves as its not as if they can be chucked in the washing machine. I wouldn't recommend totally submerging them in soapy water either as it'll ruin them (trust me, I've been there). I guess the beat you can do is to spray lots and lots of antibacterial in there and hope that does the trick. Like really saturate the inside and, by then doing them out is going to be a pain. I spray a ton of Detol antibacterial spray inside as it claims to kill 99.9% of germs. Just watch it doesn't irritate your skin when you put your hands back inside. Other than that I don't think there is much else you can do, unless someone else reading this had any suggestions 🤔

      @@johnnyboykickboxer8302 thank you for the reply, i have a pair of venum contender 2.0 what i did was clean it with a mix of Clorox and Soap to clean the outer surface with a cloth and then wiped it off with another wet cloth.
      For the insides took another cloth sprayed clorox on it and inserted into the Gloves and tried to reach every nook and corner of the glove.
      Have now kept it in Sunlight to Get rid of any further bacteri and the Clorox smell.

      I guess it's a trade off between the smell of clorox or the thought of wearing stinky gloves that someone else may have worn. I wonder if a squirt of Febreeze will help get rid of the clorox odour 🤔

    Almost entirely useless.
    The video is titled :
    'How to clean smekly boxing gloves'
    But 80% of the video is him talking about what to do to stop them getting smelly - useful info in general, but useless after they are already starting to pong.
    Not helpful at all until the last 20% or so of the video.
