How to Clean your Boxing Gloves

The number one cause of smelly gloves is sweating in them and then LEAVING them in your bag! Bacteria feeds on sweat and produces Bromidrosis -- which causes that fowl body odor smell. If you can dry your gloves out immediately after using them, it reduces the chance of bacteria and odors forming. To clean the gloves, simply wipe the inside and out with a disinfectant wipe. Furthermore you can use an air freshener or dryer sheet to clean the inside of the gloves.

    - Silica gel inside the gloves
    - Leave in a ventilated area
    - Baby powder

Victor Martinez silica is covered inside a very small square paper that you might have seen it stored inside new products that made from feather such as woman’s purses, new shoes and many others that are newly thrown in your nearby shop! silica is very common for new product because it can prevent insects, smell to live in those new things!

@@vmartinez591 If you go to Wal-Mart in the pet dept there is cat litter that is 100% silica gel. It's the cheapest that I can find about 4lbs for $4. It used to be called Mimi's cat litter but now I think the name has changed. I use it for my shoes and fishing tackle. I know some guys use it for their ammo boxes.

What works real good for me is, I wipe the inside using antibacterial hand wipes then I put a moisture exorbitant bag inside the gloves. The ones I use are Moso natural mini air purifying bag - the bamboo charcoal in it dehumidifies to prevent mold, mildew and excess moisture; absorbs odors, Removes bacteria, etc, etc..

To do after training with gloves, wraps and boxing boots listen up noobs:
    1) open them up face the hole towards the window. With the wraps untangle it put them on the window too. Same with the boots.
Before training it's good to wash your hands thoroughly (I do it with cold water as your hands will be warm later on whilst training anyway.)
This is what I do and none of my boxing equipment smells.

Then get a clean small hand towel, sprinkle baby powder on it, then dust excess baby powder off and stuff it in the glove for another couple of hours.

Title boxing sells sanitizer spray made for boxing gloves that kills bacteria and fungus. It works pretty well, I tried the one that smells like citrus. I also use their "Glove Dogs", which are felt pouches filled with cedar chips that you shove inside your gloves for storage. My gym used to have a "Glove Tree" which is a contraption that you insert your gloves on and it blows air inside them all night long. Those things are the BEST. Title Boxing used to sell those too but I just went to their site and could not find one, so I don't know if they are still being made. They might be found on EBay or Amazon.

hey i had a fight today with a family member lol, and i know a good bit of muay thai, have a lot to learn though, and as i said he is just my brother so he knows nothing about fighting so all he did is punch (and fail) (he laid his hand on my sholder to turn me so i ducked and uppercutted so technically i hit him first but he swung first so sadly i did something you might not be proud of ) it was more like a 12yr old boxing match (hes 16 though )so he has longer reach than me so i hit him then after i hit him once i took my opportunity to step in and took it, then worked in the inside and beat his ass bad hey tried a really poorly executed haymaker and i rolled it and stepped in and i used a lot of your tactics like rolling, stepping in, parrying. blocking and more basics and beat him. But as you say always watch your fights and learn what you did wrong, then learn what you did right, so i did and i noticed that i was working low with uppercuts to the head and a little of jabs and hooks all to the head i did land a knee to the hip (i was aiming for stomach but didn't pull my knee up enough when i could of) i did really well on the inside but after i hit him a bit i noticed i started elevating up and he noticed i was slowly started elevating up so he hit me so what i need you to maybe tell me is that if your down low and have your head down low... when do you bring your head back up or stand straight so to say ( i was pretty much crouching and punching his face from down low so when is a good time to stand back up?? thank you if you answer and thanks for the "how to clean your gloves video" ( PUBLIC CONVERSATION YOUR INPUT MIGHT BE APPRECIATED but please tell me your opinion and i would love to know if your are just a commenter on your opion or your are in a fighting sport, remeber it was more of a boxing match, so boxers i would love your input if your not a boxer or anything like that please let me know thank you)

Sadly Shane this is not cleaning gloves its making them smell better, I like to use a disinfectant spray (not just to make it smell better one that will actually kill bacteria from sweat) or a lysol/disinfect wipe. I like to start by spraying the outside of the glove, wiping it with a towel (one specifically meant for cleaning gear not one I use on my body) or paper towel, wipe it so its dry and thoroughly cleaned everywhere on the outside of the glove. Then I do the same with the inside, make sure to be thorough again by spraying all the areas and then wiping it and at this point the gloves are cleaned and relatively dry but for good measure I like to open it up like Shane and let it sit in front of a fan for a bit
Hope this helps anyone, I usually like shanes videos but sadly this video is not how to clean gloves just get rid of the smell

This is how I clean mine see if it works for you! For the outside of your glove use Clorox disinfectant wipes to get the shine back to your glove and to keep them looking not old. On the inside of your glove use Clorox disinfectant spray that has BLEACH in it to completely kill all your bacteria. Your gear is tough so the bleach doesn't kill it. Just make sure you get the clorox with bleach instead of using straight bleach because it will fade the colors of your glove away. Also to get rid of the bleach smell like Shane says febreeze fabric spray will help keep the inside of your glove comfortable and last long and smell not like a sweaty glove. To dry you can get glove dogs or just put towels of some kind inside of the glove to dry them off but keep the gloves open. Hope this helps and it does work because a pair of ringsides I've had for 7 years now still are in good shape and clean the same as always!

I just spray mine with lysol inside and out n wipe em off with a clean rag and let them air out. None of my gear has ever smelled bad and it's disinfected
