Ah, see, the tactical mistake that the Brotherhood made in trying to breach the perimeter is that they didn't shout "YOU LIKE THAT" or "HAD ENOUGH" several hundred times while fighting. If they had, they would have taken the air force base with minimal casualties.

I love that the increase in numbers is often less of a threat to the Boomers and more of a "target rich environment" for their artillery
Someone should make a Boomer Tower Defense Mod.
You can play as the Boomers or one of the factions and buy troops or upgrades.
Sounds like a fun way to spend an afternoon.

I don't really think the BoS would send it scribes, but if we're going off lore the BoS didn't have the manpower for this anyway.
can you imagine the courier about to try to reach Nellis AFB and seeing the BOS running past them
These wave attacks on Nellis really have the feeling of storming a castle, with the knights hoping that they can throw just enough bodies at the gates that some of them will make it through.
The wide shot overlooking the last group before the hidden tunnel was unlocked was very intriguing.
The BOS lost in total (rough estimate)
145 Scribes
130 Initiates
105 Knights
230 Paladins
20 Tunnel assault team members
For 630 in total
They lost 48 more than the NCR
Dam, not even power armor and energy weapons make it easier.
gauss rifles just aren't conducive as a primary firearm for combat in conventional warfare. seemed like they spent more time swapping cells than actually killing.
I think it's because the scribes and initiates were basically useless
@@gpheonix1 Yeah the boomers are wearing leather jackets so it’s massive overkill. The NCR ironically had an advantage because their less powerful weapons could just shoot more.

I'm starting to think that Boomer is the strongest force in FALLOUT if only for defensive battles.

PS: If the NCR knew about the hidden tunnel, maybe could take the base in less time.

Seems like the barrages went on longer here than against the NCR.
he mightve modified the barrages. The barrages against the NCR is how the vanilla barrages work. It seems here tho its been modified which is good because it adds realism.

The sad thing for anyone attempting to breach Nellis AFB, the explosions in this game are actually huge.
I nearly made it on my first attempt straight out of Goodsprings, with no gear level 5 stealth dude.
The exploding cars got me twice after like 12 mins of sneaking through then I gave up thinking it was scripted lol.
Came back later with Janine or Jane whatever that red haired chicks name was, and decided to keep all the tribes alive - and go against House at the end.
This game is crying out for a remake I really wish they would, or even just a basic remaster. It's still the best RPG on PC.@@perrytran9504

@ 8:37 this isn't even exaggerated commentary, this is real life advice. if you are EVER in this level of danger, and you get pinned down and can't run, ALWAYS fight back no matter how insanely scary it is. don't hide insecurely hoping they'll bypass you, don't surrender, don't make deals with them. run them hands or run away. otherwise, you get caught lacking like that boy there

@ 17:25 I think this is an excellent showcasing of why the various factions have a hard time reaching the Boomers. it's virtually impossible to do it as a full faction. you'll need units that can navigate serious problems. those are rare specialist individuals
@ 24:30 10 scribes, 10 initiates, 10 knights, 45 paladins, and a secret tunnel. no other faction can boast of such defenses. and knights and paladins aren't even like... some random wasteland fighters. those guys.... thematically, you're gonna need an army to deal with just one of them. they're serious business. and they blasted the hell out of them

This seems like Bs. There is no way the NCR did a better job at this breach than the BoS . They are in power armor 🤔
I think it makes sense; the power armor makes one clunky and slow, thus more susceptible to artillery….
@Dmartinez117 exactly, and they also tended to unfortunately bunch up were artillery hit wiping out most.
Overpressure would still turn the guys inside into canned soup. And if defence doesn’t matter, it comes down to raw firepower. Since the Boomers are lightly armoured, the NCRs massed rapid fire weaponry would do a lot of damage once the distance is closed. Gauss Rifles and plasma weapons might be lethal to heavily armoured foes but against the boomers it’s completely overkill, and the slow fire rate leaves the user vulnerable.
All of us here who have played FO series have been saved many times from an insta death by wearing power armor due to its defense ratings. And plenty of times, having a handy laser rifle has come in handy dispatching either lightly armor foes or heavy armor tanks. If the stats are the same across the board for AI counterpart, who im sure being the BoS are trained to move efficiently with power armor and deadly with a laser rifle running through a bunch of admittedly heavy arm not armor foes like the boomers should have been a walk in the park.
@@anubus0012 It’s artillery and rocket launchers. These weapons can take out tanks. Do you really think power armour is going to provide more protection than a literal tank?

The scribe without the rifle follows the knight with the rifle! When the knight falls, the scribe picks up the rifle and shoots! Ad victoriam!
The issues are: 1) Mortar. The mortar becomes even more aggressive if you send units from the northern tunnel part. 2) Difficult terrain to traverse so the units get funneled and get stuck to the terrain as well. 3) Exploding cars. 4) Only one point of entry into the base. Highly defended by explosive enemy units. Again the units have to get funneled through that one gate. 5) Explosive weapons of the enemies which have splash damage. 6) Open territory once you get into the base with various enemy units around. No cover. Perfect to use for explosive weapons. Ideally you need small teams of very well equipped units. Explosive or sniper rifles. And to send them in in small increments.

The BOS took a different path than the NCR did in their video. And the artillery wasn't nearly as devastating to the NCR as it is to the BOS troops in this video.

Do these faction npcs naturally attack each other on sight?
Do the mortars have a max kill limit per shot? Multiple times during there run it would land dead center of the groups and only some would die then 2 more would hit and once again only some die.
How many legionnaires does it take to take hidden Valley does the hit squads that went after Veronica can that take the fort?

Believe it or not I was still very new to modifying fallout via modding (The Geck). If you spawn Lanius and don't talk to him he is always essential and won't die.

The only thing I don't like about these videos, and it's not on you, is how dumb at AI looks. They don't spread out, take cover, give covering fire, etc... they just throw themselves at each other until one side dies.
