I’ve always hated my birthday. It feels like there’s so much pressure to do something big and fun with friends and it’s hard to realize you don’t really have anyone to celebrate with. It’s so heartwarming to see so many kind strangers celebrate with her, even in a small way.
Doesn't even feel like its my birthday when it is my birthday, just feels like a normal day to me. Take the day off work to stay at home, sleep, play games and watch tv, might go shopping but nothing interesting. Just feels so dull and boring like every other day and if I choose to go to work makes the day feel even more just as same as the others. Got even worse when the pandemic hit and I couldn't even try to do anything for my birthday.
I relate so much. And the feeling after when it’s over and I haven’t done anything or celebrated with anyone makes me feel so pathetic it haunts me for weeks after, it gets worse every year too.

The solution of this is simple. Stop celebrating birthday. Your birthday, your friend's birthday, your family's birthday, stop celebrating any kind of birthday. You will never be pressed and dissapointed.

This happened to me. I worked out of town in big city and every year I was there, I spent my birthday alone for a few years because my birthday is usually around national holidays so everyone went back hometown. Whenever family calls me, I said I had fun. This video made me cry a lot because it reminded so much about those days. Now I am back in my hometown, working here, and I got to spend birthday with family and friends. First birthday after I got back here, I spent it with people and I cried because it felt like it had been so long since I spent birthday with people.

This feels so personal. I am currently about 950 miles (~1530 km) away from home. Visiting them often is not an option unless it's festivities. I have always been an introverted quiet person, so I barely have any friends here. My only friend is my younger sister who videocalls me sometimes. That being said, I really wish that nobody out there, quiet or loud, introvert or extrovert, shy or bold, ever stays without the company of an awesome friend!
this video hit close to home 💔 as friendships have drifted apart in my 20s, I've found myself loneliner and loneliner on my birthdays. one time, not even my twin wanted to spend our birthday together, I was crying all day that time, and the day after and the day after too 😅 now I honestly dread my birthday because it's always a reminder of how lonely I've become and how I don't feel cherished. I try not to put importance on that day because it's just one out of many per year, but truthfully speaking, I've spent the past year agonizing and crying a lot over the same thing. Celebrating birthday alone hurt sometimes my friends ruined my 2 birthdays and made me feel like i was a burden and they planned surprise right in front me and even celebrated not so good but just for the sake of thinking that i might feel bad and crazy me i spended my whole day with them where my mother asked "I'm waiting for you please come back home" i went home she surprised me. Later i realised celebrating with friends is just a showoff if you have snakes but i love to celebrate alone
